Omega is "suspended", yet he's playing patty-cake in Japan, making fun of CM Punk with a Target reference video, and having AEW Locker Room meetings? I'm not sure I understand.
Yeah, 100% back D.I. here. I'm blown away that the Chief Legal Officer was present in a situation that could escalate a workplace confrontation (and did). I know there are the unwritten rules that you have to stand up and fight when called out, but if you have a title in your company, you should schedule a meeting to resolve this separately.
A clear indicator that the EVP's are inexperienced, immature, and out of their league, with regards to their corporate positions. It's like AEW is still a mom and pop store.
I thought Tony allowed AEW wrestlers to wrestle outside of his company. If so how does the suspension from AEW prevent Omega from wrestling in Triple A?
His aew contract takes precedence, just because Tony allows them to wrestle for other companies doesn't mean they can just go do it. Tony is their main employer. He allows wrestlers to work for other companies providing he okays it first. He has stopped talent from working shows right before major aew ppvs to prevent the risk of a last second injury. Obviously Tony's control of when they can wrestle else where has to factor in disciplinary actions otherwise he won't be able to discipline people if they can do what every they want then just go work somewhere else until their punishment is up.
Every single wrestling personality I have listened to that has spoken on this has called it a shitshow, and I would have to agree. How do you fix it? You can't fire Punk. You certainly can't let the Bucks & Omega retain their positions as executives, but you can't fire them as in ring performers. This is just bad. A lot of people are going to be pissed off no matter how they handle it, due to the polarization in the locker room, and among the fans. Both sides handled this badly, so you can't let it slide either. I think the biggest determination will lie in verifying Punk's claims. If they find that the Bucks & Omega have been acting against Punk since he got there, serious action has to be taken. I understand why they might not like Punk personally, but they are EVPs of a national company. If they were really trying to ostracize and marginalize a major generational star like Punk as he claims, then you have no choice but to let them go. If it is true, then they were trying to undermine Tony's business for selfish reasons, and he should take that personally if he has any balls.
I don’t think most companies have training for de-escalation. The bit about them taking the company attorney along speaks to the inexperience and immaturity and lack of good sense from the EVPs and the attorney. Immature and impulsive. They obviously have no respect for Tony or anyone outside their circle. Otherwise, they’d have had a sit down weeks, perhaps months, before the situation boiled over.
Folks should remember that while Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks may be viewed during this thing as "one of the boys in the locker room", if the EVP title is an actual thing then they are considered officers and thus employees of the company. Any actions they do is a reflection and a liability on the AEW company and any parent company/corporation that owns them. Wrestlers like CM Punk are considered independent contractors (unless AEW is different) and any actions they take do not make them a liability of the company from a legal sense. Having worked at one time as a contractor at my workplace as well as now being an employee, there is a vast legal difference in how I am treated and how the company treats me and my legal liabilities to the company. If Punk's conduct was that egregious and he caused the issue and started the fight and caused physical harm, the company AEW can take actions on him up to and included termination of his contract (unless AEW operates differently or the contract has strict wording on its breech and termination sections) without incurring legal liability. This means if if he assaulted someone in the company, the company can pass liability on the CM Punk the contractor. If it was the other way around and Omega and The Young Bucks attacked CM Punk, with the AEW Chief Legal Officer making no attempt to otherwise deter, de-escalate, or stop the attack, then the company is now liable for any damages caused. Talking the exposure for millions of dollars in damages, negligence, malfeasance, you name it. This is the sort of thing personal injury attorneys lick their chops over.

I work in the physical security department of a fairly large American financial institution. If our Chief Legal Officer and several VPs were involved in a physical altercation, on company property, or at a company event, heads would roll. The CLO would most likely be relieved of their title, the VPs would absolutely be terminated, and I’m sure we would be forced to implement another 10 measures of security access to prevent any similar future incidents. If the incident resulted in litigation, department heads and security personnel would feel the heat as well. I know professional wrestling is a totally different beast than wealth management, but lawsuits work the same. Your company’s Chief Legal Officer (for the Jags and Fulham too) can not be involved in any way with incidents like this. She can’t be there, she can’t take sides, she can’t have her name associated with anything even remotely close to a locker room brawl. Maybe it’s not a good idea to have your C.L.O. hanging out backstage with a bunch of pro wrestlers. Maybe it’s not a good idea to have high ranking executives fraternizing with contracted talent. Maybe it isn’t a good idea for the owner of the company to engage in recreational drug use with employees (according to Big Swole). Again, I’m a security expert, not a legal expert but many, if not most, of our security measures are designed to keep our high ranking executives away from any potential incidents such as this one. The higher rank of the executives involved, the higher the financial stakes for the company. High ranking execs involved in highly unprofessional conduct does not bode well in litigation.
You don’t understand how the sports entertainment stuff works, huh? Konaan is the booker for AAA and is trying to add some variety to the shows. It’s not that he “has” to bring in outside talent as much as he has the option to do so.
Not saying the fight didn’t happen but it’s fishy that Punk, Omega, and Nick Jackson all had injuries that need time to heal. In the world of rasslin, the only thing you know is that you never really know until they want you to know.
So let me see if I have the chronology correct. Twinkeltoes and the Bucks were in a meeting, bitching and moaning with the chief legal officer, and not only did that CLO allow them to confront Phil Brooks, knowing there would most likely be a physical confrontation, she escorted them to his locker room and force their way in - with a pregnant woman and a small dog present. My late Grandpa was a lawyer. I don't see him doing something like that. Apparently at no point did she say, "You know, guys, there could be serious legal ramifications if you 3 idiots go down there, because you know after what he said, it's going to get physical, so maybe we should cool down, wait for Tony to get out of his stupid shoot conference, and let's all sit down and work this out. You guys are EVPs of this company. You're supposed to be the professional ones." I've never heard of an "executive" of a wrestling promotion confronting a wrestler like that, knowing things would get physical. Even Vince McMahon, who I am loathe to defend, would have let things simmer done and met with a wrestler with someone else present in case that wrestler lost his cool. He had the Undertaker to make sure things never went too far. Even after the Screwjob, it wasn't like he just stormed in. He sat and waited for Bret Hart to get out of the shower, after Bret said he would punch him and Bret did. One punch, end of story. This sounds like a bunch of kids who didn't like someone saying something negative about them, so they came looking for trouble. Their top draw, too. And that's the point. They wanted to be the top kids in a rich kid's playground and Punk showed up and embarrassed them by drawing new fans to AEW. They were no longer the protected main eventers. So they injured the guy and spread rumours about him and now they're blaming him for being upset.

People keep saying how Vince was so “strict” and that’s what kept the boys in line . Well take a good long historical look at all of the crazy shit that happened in the WWE while he was there and now compare that to what’s going on in AEW. Yeah punk and the bucks doesn’t look so bad now does it

🤔 wonder why so many people hate impact wrestling I'm a fan I know we are a small company but that doesn't give people the right to hate them you can not like the product fine but no hate OK please
Impact is a better show than AEW
Disco your effing thinking exactly what I was. This is exactly what I was thinking about with AAA. How does aew suspension work with AAA? Do AAA honor another promotion rules? How does this work
it seems like AEW controls their wrestlers' bookings for all promotions.
@@KeepinIt100OFFICIAL I thought so. Also it's ok to go to no name Indy shows and almost hurt yourself for 150 people. But When Khan has a chance to go to another world renowned promotion and get more eyes on his talent he suspended them. Not the best business plan with all the hype surrounding all the players.
@@russellcampbell3500 yeah, it's a kind of the opposite of what AEW promised at the start
ok so this give Tony Khan about 2 months of TV to push new names and elevate new talent so that, when Kenny comes back at the end of the year, it opens up a whole bunch of new angles and match possibilities for him.
Will Tony Khan do that though? Or will he just keep pushing the ex-WWE guys?
Didnt everyone say Omega was the calmest person there and tried to make peace before it? Punk was really trying to escalate the situation. Not a fan of Kenny but the man was setup lol
Ain’t set up unless he set himself up walking in someone else’s room. Could’ve waiting he walked out his locker room.
@@RattlerPiratesMusic holy shit your English teacher failed you, not as badly as your dad walking out but still
From everything I’ve heard Kenny was trying to calm down the situation and even talked to punk later on to try to work things out
Where did you hear that then?
Classy Of Kenny Omega!
Where’d you hear that? There’s been no mention by the cut-n-paste “news” sites or any other YT clip I’ve checked regarding this schoolyard silliness.
Brian last mentioned it on their show.
@@spacemankad2108 I can recall Brian mentioning that Omega tried to break up the fight. No mention of Omega trying to him trying to work things out with Punk. Apologies if I am incorrect
Tony coked up Kahn
If the Elite dudes were just Wrestlers this wouldn't be such a big deal, but Tony had to make them EVP's. They aren't just boys anymore, they are also executives and need to act as such.
As bosses they are entitled to talk to their employee. All that is needed is who hit first. After that it's what exchange of words that happened for 5+ mins. Thats it. For all you know the 5+ mins was the deescalation. Let's wait for the report before you start judging anyone.
@@EAprima that's not all that was needed if it's self-defense. you don't know how they entered the room.
@@EAprima none of this is true.
The AEW lawyer was in the room and theyre still suspended. Some shit happened where the elite may have been just as at fault as punk. If the lawyer so they werent at fault this should be done already
I think Kenny Omega wants to leave AEW, he knows that AEW is a failing company
He's a delusional twat saying that 80% of the talent he wouldnt hire. I'm sure that on the 20% that he would hire include Riho, Sakura and all joshi japonese school girls + nakazawa + young cucks
That's true especially with the fact nbc universal wants to merge with turner tv aew will be out of business in 3 years
@@shabazzjones5625 the facts are this: wether you like AEW or not, Tony Khan simply has failed to make it a viable brand. Marks may love it but that's not enough
Bro that is Just a opinion...of your own... the facts dont show that ...the numbers show different they are in top 3 every week for cable that is it not failing..weather the show is great or not does not matter they are Far from failing tho!

Until November Huh 🤔
Until Kenny feels like coming back
Leave it up Disco to be a legal expert because he's a bouncer... this dude just talks to hear his own voice.
@Craig Jackson oh I forgot all the talent involved were security guards
November? Punk told people to come to him face to face and that's what they did. I am losing respect for TK by the second.
Tony needs to borrow Stephanie McMahon balls
The dancing guy is a big weirdo
Hopefully forever hes terrible
Disco is soooooo down on AEW. Poor guy is a certified HATER
The fact that Konnan has to ask for kenny and other wrestlers from other companies shows you need to promote home talent more
You don’t understand how the sports entertainment stuff works, huh? Konaan is the booker for AAA and is trying to add some variety to the shows. It’s not that he “has” to bring in outside talent as much as he has the option to do so.

Another fake title from fake Stars
