How can divorce be "fine" if God hates it and the covenant bond of marriage is permanent?

Judging solely by your handle, I’m guessing you come from a calvist or reformed background? I’m just asking, not accusing you of anything. I’m of the CoC and not all of us agree with the doctrine that some teach. I believe very differently than what most in the CoC teach as I believe their only using certain scriptures that make their view point valid, where I’ve tried to take ALL of what scripture says about the matter. I have no dog in the fight as I have the “right” to remarry as my ex got pregnant by another while we were married. I just think people lose their minds over this topic

Please elaborate more on Gen. 2:23-24 " man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife".
In matrilineal society, man leaves his parents and lives with his wife ". Please explain

So im going to hell becoz i dovorced and married again. There is no need of going to church. It will be a waste of time. I can't divorce again or stay single. If my original spouse is married, i cant go back to her. And because God has given me sexual desires to be met in a marriage setting, i cannot divorce and go fornicating. Is still sinful

Sorry for my late reply. Sir, I was in the exact situation with my first marriage. We divorced due to the toxic nature of our marriage relationship and the physical abuse which eventually ensued for years. After my divorce, I remarried a man (who I still love to this day). A fellow Christian thoroughly studied these scriptures from various chapters of the bible with me concerning marriage, divorce, and remarriage, and I learned that in marrying again that I was committing adultery. I discussed this with my spouse and he agreed that we were living in adultery. We also agreed that the only thing we could do to obey God was to get a divorce and sever the marital relationship. In turning our backs on the marriage and obtaining the divorce, we REPENTED of the sin of adultery. We also asked the church for their prayers and rededicated our lives to the Lord at that time. Finally, we both recognized that neither one of us could ever have sexual relations, either between ourselves or any others due to the fact that we were single, and if we did have sexual relations, we would be committing the sin of fornication. Therefore, in order to stay in God's word, we both must remain single and celibate. This has been one of the most challenging things we have ever done in living in Christ, but we are doing it for the salvation of our souls. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Jesus did not permit divorce or remarriage.
We are bound to our covenant spouse until death (1 Cor. 7:39).
NOTHING breaks the covenant but DEATH.
Remarriage is adultery while our covenant spouse lives (Luke 16:18, Mark 10:11-12).
The Matthew “clause” refers strictly to divorce, not remarriage.
There is no such thing as remarriage for the “innocent party.”
The “innocent party” view does not harmonize with 1 Cor. 7:39
Jesus did not permit divorce, because God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and because it was not so from the beginning (Matt. 19:8; Mark 10:6).
We cannot separate what God has joined together (Matt. 19:6; Mark 10:9).
The linchpin to understanding the “exception clause” is understanding the AUDIENCE of Matthew.
Matthew was written to a Jewish audience. We are Christians, not Jews.

You’re making God out to be a servant of injustice. How is it justifying to punish the innocent party in the matter? It’s not. You’re spouting something you’ve heard from others that you haven’t devoted a lot of time studying

    • @Phil-bm4xo

@@DustyRoadz I have devoted countless hours to this course of study. You are working from emotion rather than scripture.
Hardship or circumstances do not change the word of God. We are bound til DEATH, not till infidelity. 1 Corinthians 7:39.
Paul gives two choices; separation or reconciliation 1 Corinthians 7:10-11.
The exception clause is found only in Matthew, because it is a Jewish specific, exception clause, based on the betrothal Mosaic law. Luke, Mark, and Paul do not include an exception clause because their audience was not Jewish. It was Greek or Christian.
We have misused and abused, and exception claw that was meant for the Jews.
The disciples knew that Jesus was giving a brand new instruction that was different than what Moses permitted see verse 10 of Matthew 19.
Jesus wants marriages to last a lifetime just as in the beginning see versus four through 6 of Matthew 19.
God was the “innocent” once and took back Israel when they repented. Just as God took back the adulterous nation, so must a spouse whose mate repents. We are bound till death, not infidelity. We can’t change the text, but we will need to change our perspective and emotions to fit with God’s standards.

Good sermon until the last few minutes
Fornication is a different sexual sin than Adultery otherwise that why it is listed separately in scriptures 1 Cor 6, Galatians 5
    According to the oxford dictionary
Fornication = sexual sin between two single person
Adultery = sexual sin carried out by husband or wife with another person outside of marriage
For example in the brother in 1Cor 5 having his father wife is not married to her but laying with her
1 Cor 7 : 1 states to avoid Fornication a man should have his own wife and likewise the women should have her own husband (if Fornication and Adultery are the same then it brings confusion to the text.
    Adultery =
looking at a women with lust in your heart
Sexual relationships with someone other than your husband and wife
Marrying a man or woman who has been divorced if there spouse are still alive
Marriage is a covenant and not a contract ….

Ok so if we rightly divide the word
#1. Divorce is only if the wife committed fornication before she was married
#2. Adultery was never a reason to divorce.
#3. If divorce takes place and no fornication occurred before the wife was married then if someone lays with her, they are laying with another man’s wife.
#4. 1COR.7 is dealing with fornication, the only reason to divorce.
#5. In 1COR.7:10-11 The lord now commands a woman rightly divorced to remain unmarried or be reconciled back to her husband.
#6. If a woman is not rightly divorced she is bound to her husband as long as he lives.

Wrong. The greek word "porneia" used here does also include adultery. Today's meaning of fornication doesn't go far enough, it meant all kinds of sexual immoralities at the time the Bible was translated, including adultery.

Here's the problem, people look at the meaning in Greek then forget the question that was asked to Jesus, which was concerning the law.
According to the Law can you divorce for adultery? No!
So if the answer is not adultery then it has to be fornication.
Did Joseph who had not married Mary yet, think to divorce her for adultery thinking once he married her she would cheat so he could put her away? No!
Please don't say, "it could be fornication in the form of idolatry".
