When Aang does use his glider I asked myself why? At that point it was “fan service”.. just frustrating.
Devil’s advocate here, the directors did mention that they didn’t want to focus too much on the comet being a few seasons away because of the aging of the actors. Shooting the series would take a couple years and it wouldn’t make sense for Aang to go from an 11 year old kid to a grown man in 6 months
The solution to that isn’t complicated. Instead of saying the comet is a few months away, you say the comet is 4 or 5 years away. That’s more than enough time to make 2 more seasons & not make it too far fetched for Aang to be in his late teens during the final battle

I've already watched it twice and I'm almost halfway through my 3rd watch through, and I did go to RUclips to watch clips, namely Lu Ten's funeral and Iroh joining Zuko for his journey. I think the main reason I enjoyed it more is because I went into it knowing that it's a different medium, a different format and a different audience and I went into it already accepting and knowing that because of these things and the challenges they pose, we weren't going to get a 1-1 recreation and we were going to see changes, plenty. And some of the changes to characters they made don't bother me (With some exception of course like Katara, Pakku and Bumi), because I think giving a character new story beats isn't that bad so long as they go somewhere. Difference is that we have all the retrospect we're ever going to get with the original show, and the new story beats that they added still have 2 seasons to simmer and make their journey, and I won't judge them as a whole until we actually have a whole to judge.

If they do come out with a season 2 then they can fix their mistakes that they made in season one. This reminds me a bit about stranger things because season 3 was not that good so what do they do in season 4 they fixed and it was the best by far. And I bring that up because if they do come up with the season two, they can fix the mistakes that they made in season one you know

One point of difference of opinion, and that’s really what makes the world great… I don’t want adaptations to be a carbon copy of the original because for me that just makes me want to watch or read the original. There’s some things that you have to do with a tv show or even movies (m night actually got one thing right… wow.. never imagined I’d say those words) but you have to make this story happen over at least 3 years in the story timeline, cause unless they wanted to “Gary Coleman” all the actors kids grow up fast… somehow the stranger things kids are older than I am now and that’s impossible without time travel… his connection to Roku being almost gone is a bummer too. It shows us the fire nation aren’t all monsters…
It was a pretty alright show in my opinion but the acting and dialogue was mostly cringe ... I am a fan of grounded stories but this live adaptation looked like cosplay and people don't realize that matching the movments from an animation will not result well in live action form .... I have yet to see live action truly try to be more realistic in dialogue and perfomance but also is reminiscent of the OG content ....... The CGI was a legit video game CGI shit fest and chirst again I am not exagerrating when I say the acting is cringe ... My Top characters from Best to Worst : 1. Ozai : Perfect, sounds, talks, looks, acts just like him minus slight sympathy but to be honest he is still as ruthless as OG Ozai 2. Uncle Iroh : Awesome, love the sweet side and seriousness taken from the OG 3. Aang : Pretty good, he was adorable and got Aang's kind soul and optimism minus the shitty dialogue and kind of cringe line delivery 4. Zukko - Got his voice down accurately , the mannerisms are on point, alright acting at times , physically did not look like him 5. Sokka - Ok , got his voice down accurately too, I liked some of his comedic sides , bad acting at times , kind of looked like him , barely 6. Princess Yue : Cringe, this Yue lacked what 2010's Yue successfully did well , charm , grace in voice and movement, and overall looked serene and magestic but damn this Yue actress had a weird awkward voice that killed the soft and graecul side of the character and I am not a fan of how this Yue is more direct and less shy and soft spoken , yes she is tough but still lacked a coyness that pulled you in .... 7. Azula : Shit, I immediately did not like her when I discovered who the actress is , she looks nothing like her , shitty acting and line delivery , no rage, no intimidation , just a wannabe Azula trying to act cool and tough, the only good thing that came out of the actress is her Azula voice 8. Katara - YESUS she is the worst , bland acting, barely any emotion, no drive, ass acting / lines , did not look like her, had some emotional alright moments sprinkled here and there but that was not enough because the actress looked bored as fuck and confused about what the hell was going on .... Don't get me started when Aang poured his heart and soul about the guilt he felt about destroying the air temple and all dear Katara has to say was a dead , " I'm sorry ...... " It really make me wonder and realize what was taken away when the OG creators backed off from this production ... It all makes sense now .......
