    Thanks,
    I think I can now successfully do this and I appreciate that you showed how to get at that back bracket bolt. Not sure which side is leaking but the dealer wanted $1749 for both gaskets and the local diesel engine shop wanted $1050. I can do this in an afternoon. My Touareg is a 2016 TDI. Appreciate the time you took to do this.

    Thanks for this. Knocked it out in 3 hours start to finish with a big portion of it being that rear bolt. Would have taken me longer playing with it without the video.
    Only had to sacrifice that T30 when I dropped it in the bay after tightening that bolt up. I'll buy another and hope I find it at the next oil change.

    It's an amazing video, pretty straight forward. Thanks a lot. What can we use instead of the sil glyde grease? Can I use a cooper grease or white lithium grease, which one would be a better option to lubricate those fuel injector o rings? Cheers

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  11 месяцев назад +1

      The next lubricant I would suggest is dielectric grease which is quite similar to Sil-Glyde. If you don't have that then a little lithium grease or even engine oil. Mainly you just don't want to install them dry as the o-ring can catch and either tear or roll during installation.
      Thank you for taking the time you watch.

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  3 месяца назад

      Those are a small plastic fitting that goes into the injector. If memory serves the center pulls up which releases the fitting and allows it to pull out of the injector.

    Maybe I missed it in the video but I don't see where you removed the injector return lines. How do you release these from the injector?

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  Год назад

      Sorry I can't remember if I showed a detail of that or not. The center part of the return line coupler pulls up which releases the seal around the small barb on the injector and then the return line can be removed from the injector.
      Thanks for watching.

    Hey Mike
    It's Joel Nowland from our old ward in West Point. I have an of topic question.
    Where would be a good place best prices for some 1018 - cold rolled plate. Bowman Kemp only has hot rolled plate.
    I need 10 feet - two 48" x 9" x 1/2" and one 24" length cold rolled plate.
    Thanks

      Hey Joel. Hope all is well with you and your family.
      For large pieces of cold rolled I usually purchase it from Richard's Sheet Metal in Ogden. For smaller pieces I order it from McMaster Carr. They're great and it's usually on my doorstep within 2-days.

    Really Really great video, thank you! I have a tar like substance leaking from the right hand rocker cover, (1st injector only) should I take the injector out first and try replacing the O ring on said injector before attempting to replace gaskets, covers etc?

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  10 месяцев назад

      It's hard to say but look closely around the perimeter of the valve cover. If it's got oil around it at all I'd just plan on doing both otherwise you'll be back doing it again.

      @zmotorsports62 I suppose doing the cheaper "fix" first would be best, just to see, there's oil all round and it's blowing at idle, like you said it should in the video, to me it looks like an O ring has failed and is spitting out that tar like substance!
