I am in 7th heaven ... where has this wonderful recording been? Never seen it before. Truly made my day - and probably my year. Karl Denver - finest voice of his generation without doubt. And there's more on RUclips as well.
I compared a show at wakefield theatre club in the 70,s karl was top of the bill, he was drunk when he arrived and also when he came on stage, but he did it, and the audience never sussed he was under the bottle, but he was a lovely man always polite and profesional , and of course came out fighting about the dangers of drink in his later years
I knew Karl and managed him for a while. His voice was wonderful, until the end. He LOVED babies and children. I have wonderful memories of him spend hours watching 'magic roundabout' with my kids. He knew EVERY character and story line, they dearly love him, as he did them
my dad was friends with him from their Springburn days . got the signed vinyl . Now running festivals and events i d have him on the bill even now! closest i have found to him is Archer.
That is defo Keith Elliot in this video , I remember him at Elliot transport. I was just a child but kieth knows of his star driver , my late best mate Mike ( sulli) omg the memories. I remember his house near Blackpool.
Carl, used to visit my Dad, at our house in North Wales, and all the local kids would gather around his metallic green Cadillac? uncle Carl, i used to call him, never goodbye was always my fave, after Wimoweh, of course
Great recording - unusual to see Kevin playing a Strat. Thanks for posting and thanks for sending me a link to it. 5 Stars from me, it's now in my favourites.
I had the pleasure of knowing Kevin Neill for over 30 years and he was a really charming man. Only found tonight out about his death, which is very sad indeed.
A truly unique voice. My oldest brother, God rest hi"m, had many of Karl's records and i enjoyed them too. This is a really good rendition of Love Me With All of my Heart" . It's nice in Spanish too , as Quando Caliente el Sol" Thanks for posting this.
Kevin Neill (lead guitaist) Sadly Kevin the last remaining member of the original hit making trio (Karl, Kevin and Gerry) Died at his home in Manchester on Saturday the 13th March 2010. Keith, the bassist on this video, replaced Gerry Cottrell many years before Gerry's death.
A very sad end to a fantastic trio. I was present at many of his cabaret gigs in clubs and restaurants and enjoyed a pint or three with the Trio..... RIP Karl, Kevin and Gerry.
Ah' time was taking its toll on his 'good looks' LoL! Coming from Springburn, like Karl (Gus) everybody 'knew him' and when he played in Barrow-on-Furness club he told folks we were cousins, I'd just won a Talent Show and then later on in life I worked at "The La Boom! Boom" Nightclub in Didsbury, Manchester? we met again and he made me feel like he really WAS my cousin. One of the BEST folks till the end.
Thank you for putting the video on you tube Kevin was a great friend of mine and I do miss him, what a lot of people don’t now about Kevin he was a great trombone player and in the 1980s Kevin played trombone and guitar in my band the Dixieland express show band I recently discovered an old recording I made with Kevin its A Guitar duet Myself And Kevin Playing Ultra-fox I'll be putting it on you-tube in the new year Thanks Tom Degney
I can only echo what judge9847 said, he was brilliant plus he was a wonderful guy and I'll always miss him. Is there any more like this and if so can we have it please.
