You don't need a nuclear bomb to cause nuclear damage, as clearly illustrated by the Russian military. Mariupol might as well have suffered an atomic blast. I bet the Russian big shots know this all too well.
sadly, most of the soviet cities look like this at spring. on this video there are only few additions, half windows are gone, huge fire damage because there are no firefighters, and 2 heavily damaged apartment buildings at 0:08.
Most of the buildings are still standing and are not razed to the ground.
A nuclear bomb is something totally different. You cannot compare this to conventional explosives.
@@brian4872 yes u can a nuclear bomb is no bigger then a conventional ballistic missile explosion however it created a mushroom cloud which no other bombs really do and the Nukes create more heat with the blast and have radiation involved

Bakhmut and Marinka was nothing compared to Mariupol. In that cities people were evacuated. All the services were working until that was impossible. No one helped in Mariupol.

Hard to tell from the drone video. I can't discern whether the ground is all scorched or if that's just brown, mushy spring grass. The buildings are largely still standing, doubtless many are damaged and destroyed though. They must have bombarded the city with ship artillery and missiles.
If I didn't know differently, I would think was Berlin or Hamburg 1945.

Most of the buildings are not destroyed but burned down. One mortar projectile hit an apartment in a building, the apartment starts burning, then the whole building starts burning because there is no one to put down fires

It is not a new strategy. If you starve and bomb the people, they will turn against the resistance. When the defenders give up, you can bring food and help and "liberate the civilians". Russia used it in Syria, but also other nations did.
