As the title says, this week Emily has to pick her Year 9 Options but NO ONE Told us?! We've got a couple of days to try and come up with a plan for Em before she moves into year 10 with whatever she chooses.
Alongside this mini drama I've had a good and busy week doing lots of cool things including the game jam, Best Thing From Barcelona and preparing for the rest of Autism Acceptance Month. Work has been mega busy and I have finally rested enough to feel good again.
On top of THAT - Ben has had a busy school week planning to meet his needs as an 'as yet undiagnosed' autistic 5 year old.
Oli is the biggest mood with the not wanting to participate in party nonsense :P
In terms of picking subjects, I wish I had a teacher like you who would have gone through what I wanted to do
Needed physics to become an architect but ended up doing biology :P
Picked computing, graphic design, art, music, and geography
We all had to do religion, maths, English, PE, SE, and maybe some others I can't remember :P
It seems wild to me that they don’t go through it individually and actually help kids figure it out in a solid way. It’s like they want as many to be confused as possible.
Just picked Luke’s options, which was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be, he seems to have a great plan to what he wants to do in the future and I think the job will really be good for him marine biology. Looks like hopefully Ben will have an easier time than Oli did which is good at least people can understand him.

English (2) Maths (1) Science (2) Spanish (1) History OR Geography (1) Option (1)

Think they do English language only as they could have picked literature (he didn’t)
Maths as they don’t get a choice 😂
I picked my options and i regret doing drama however it was a pain because of the box restrictions. I came out with all cs or above. At a level i regret doing english literature but I thought it would be ok as i did so well at gcse however its a lot harder but im getting there near the end of my last year. Hopefully getting an apprenticeship as a teaching assistant
Good luck! Mrs sheepdog was a teaching assistant for a few years , she really enjoyed it.
How did you and Kev miss the main part of Park Guell///utter shambles, you should dump Kev and do your own with Emily, would be much better, missing that market was insane and what about all the culture, eg the Miro museum, we are going in a few weeks, total coincidence, my son has got the travel bug now so we are going for his 16th, my partner books everything now as I am incapable lol!x p.d schools are absolutely chronic these days. though my sons school did give him an options booklet to take home and look at with parents although he mainly just did what his friends did, he did that again for college then his 3 freinds dropped out and set up a super succesful You Tube chanel, this is my older boy, not my younger autistic sonxxx
16/17 years olds went from 0-170k subs in about 2 years, ......lol!
Dont get me started on football and Barcelona, I hope that will not be the same in Turin, go to Krakow and Aushwitz or somewhere cool like riga, definitely dump Kev, ha ha ha!x

We were knackered at Park Guell as our plane was an hour or so late. We had a booking immediately after about a 25 minute walk away and no cabs were picking us up / stopping so we had to see what we could then edit out all the bits of us going “oh I’m so thirsty / hungry / tired” etc haha.
The market was also shut the day we were there and we had to choose that or the cathedral. We thought the cathedral was more culturally important to the city. I’d definitely go back though with the family and make a weekend of it where we visit everything.
