- A clan of Hyenas in their numbers attack a pride of Lions over a carcass.
The hyenas who are known to be scavengers can also be very cunning especially when backed by the power of numbers. They can even decide to go against the king of the jungle and manage to snatch the meal from his pride. In this case, a lioness can only watch as the clan drags her meal away

The laughing sounds of those hyenas always sound evil to me. That male lion with that wonderful mane is a sight to behold. Strength and superiority reeks from him. Thank you that was a sight worth seeing.
It's a way for then to communicate, and an effective intimidation tactic. It just sounds negative or evil because it is associated with them hunting and because it is just scary.

I see this myth is still around. Hyenas are the second most successful hunters after the wild dogs. Hyenas chase their prey until it gets tired. They are not lazy and hardly ever known to be sleeping around like lions.
Yes they do steal kills from cheetahs lions leopards but so do leopards steal from cheetahs and lions steal from everyone.

Plus, a tiger will deliberately jump into deep water to dance with a crocodile, kill it and drag it onto land and eat it. A Lion would say, Aww Hellll Naw !
So you see, the Tiger is the true badass when you look beyond what others have chosen to put on a pedestal. Such as the Lion. The Lion is tuff but the Tiger is on a whole different level.

And no, A Tiger doesn't grow bigger than a Lion. I've seen Lions bigger than Bengal Tigers. Lions on average are bigger than Tigers in wild. Plus Tigers wouldn't jump straight onto water to "kill" crocofile because Tiger would be dead. Tigers arent known yo kill crocodiles but Lions can do. Csn you understand why the Lion is more loved than Tiger?

Title is indeed misleading. The lions were the attackers. The hyenas were trying to steel food, and possibly see any weakness in the confrontation. They never attacked the lions.

Nature isn't about just taking a fight you can win. Many many times you'll see predators back down from a fight that they could have won (by being just larger or out numbering the enemy), but they know it isn't worth the risk of injury for the meal it would provide.
This is especially common with Honey Badgers, a vicious animal that can even injure lions, but is tiny and not worth the trouble for a meal. If the hyenas committed to a fight with the 3 lions here, many would've been injured or killed and none of them want to be the individual that takes the blow for the clan, so they all back off.

When males are present they are the 1st to eat. And the others will had to wait.luckily if they were left for them after male lion feed. Lions also eat only fresh meat. While hyena also eat bone and they are scavenge thats why.

There was no attack, so the title is misleading. On the other hand I am confused why some hyenas didn't want to completely take away some choice ribs. One tried to take it away but the others stopped it and made it drop it on the ground. We see later the male lion coming over to inspect the piece and mark against it. Arku Ankrah, Sad but true, lionesses have been killed by hyenas. The war continues on between species. I can’t speak towards lion vs hyenas. Likely a fat old lion might be killed by hyenas, but more than likely he’d be killed or driven off by a young virile male or males. Lions seem to be pairing and grouping up much more frequently now.

@@Kratos7686 not just size but male lions have more aggression and more fired up and more likely to go all the way and kill a hyena it captures. whereas many a time a lioness or even lionesses grab a hyena and the hyena fights fights it's way out the situation.
