Definitely a top 3 theme! Surprisingly those weren't as popular on the newly founded post soviet market but I remember loving them as a kid, and probably have those iconic characters laying around somewhere. In fact Lego can take adventurers as an example on how to make a successful unlicensed theme with unique characters and storylines.
Bro, your content is unlocking memories I didn't know I had. I had completely forgotten, that I had this exact set as a kid. Your channel has given me more nostalgia than any other.
Kilroy is Johnny's UNCLE? How did I not know that!!! I remember many years ago as a kid we had some sort of massive multipack of the Egyptian stuff somehow and even bought some of the Orient Expedition ones at the time!!
Just one note, the UK localization names were what they eventually settled on for Dr. Kilroy and Pippin Reed by Orient Expedition, but Baron Samuel Von Barron still kept getting his name changed even long after Adventurers ended, with his cameo appearance in set 10273 Creator Expert/Fairground Collection Haunted House currently naming him as Samuel Von Barron.
@@rafahydzik3918 He started off as Baron von Barron in Egypt, alongside Sam Sinister/Slyboots. He retained this name in Jungle. He was renamed to Sam Sinister in Dino Island, then Lord Sam Sinister in Orient Expedition. Meanwhile, in the games he was Baron Von Barron in LEGO Racers, Sam Sanister (his european name in Dino Island) in LEGO Racers 2, and Mr. Hates, his German name, in LEGO Island 2. I believe naming him Samuel Von Barron in the Creator Expert/Fairground Collection Haunted House was LEGO's attempt to finally rectify the whole naming issue with him by basically saying that he was in fact a baron who's surname was Von Barron, but he was also named Sam - and he _was_ rather sinister.
This must've been an ultimate flex set back in its day, there are so many glamorous pieces and expensive features that I'm not surprised it was so much
Personally I always preferred Adventurers as a theme to anything they _would have_ originally made back in the day with the actual Indiana Jones license, and indeed more than the Indie sets we actually did. More freedom to make things more different due to the _requirement_ to make things _somewhat_ different. This particular set was one I had as a child and is still one of my favorites. The characters had better names here in America, sorry. Johnny _Thunder_ , Charles _Lightning_ , and _Gail Storm_ have a clear theme going on which the names Killroy and Pippin Reed just don't bring. Was the seldom-seen pilot Harry Cane's name different over there?
i wanted this set so bad when i was a kid. i saved up for it and when i had enough to buy it my mom took me to k.b toys but they were sold out :( i never got it. i bought set 6600 instead
"camera ready to capture Johnny's self defense claims" that's great, I love recognition of how incredibly violent Johnny and his gang were

1:15 🤣 man I love your jokes in the videos, definitely makes the videos more entertaining and lively. Great video as always
This certainly was a great set and theme. I think pharaohs quest was a attempt to kind of bring it back but with monster fighters vibe.
yeh, but sadly they had to stuff it with too much fantasy and edgy creatures - pharaoh's quest was a bit "over the top" imho

I recall him as Sam Sinister or something along those lines…?

the archaeologist being named killroy in the UK is probably a reference to the British army graffiti tag "killroy was here"

this shit would be $200 today for a baseplate and a bridge
I found the baseplate and some of the printed pieces in a bin from goodwill
Absolutely loved Johnny Thunder as a kid, as I used to call the theme
I enjoy your deadpan delivery
I have a Jonny thunder mini figure but it came in raptor rumble that you can see me review on my channel
Love the humour in this one 😂😂
Thanks for the video, get well soon!
Lego: Hey kids, we made a new theme, look at your new and exciting hero archaeologist, Johnny Thunder!
Johnny Thunder: Firearm in his pants
never would fly today, parents would be offended by it
The jokes were pretty funny this video keep it up
I have this set and as another person who lives in England I found it painful to find! How did you acquire yours? I had to ship mine over from the usa
I had the same problem too, had to get me all the way from Italy 😅
@@RobrickLego did you happen to get it recently off bricklink because I remember seeing one for sale?
lol Great work, love the humor.
The Adventurers theme started in 1998 not 1999.😊
Holy shit. I used to have this set.
Wow. Core memory unlocked
R.R. slugger is currently making a good series about it on YT

Still Harry Cane for us in the UK! Its a bit strange now though as that's also the name of one of our famous football players 😁
@@RobrickLego It's bizarre for one minor supporting character to keep the theme when the two major supporting heroes don't.
because he’s only in one set
top tier video
2:50 bless you
5:24 bless you again
I had the Biplane set
pretty sweet
What’s the difference between set “1584 & 6060?” 🤔
One was the EU release and the other US, apart from that they are identical 😁
I’ve seen it in my area for 200$ unopened is that a good deal? Also I have 6060 I got it for 130 wit the forest hideout
Oh yeah, used your looking at $300 to $500 so thats an absolute bargain!

Shame you missed out on an amazing set 😥
Man how did you find that set for under $100!?!? I want it so bad and it's easily a couple hundred if I want it with the box...
bless you
wasn’t the chick named gail storm or some shit? or did johnny string along a different girl every time
She had 3 different names depending on which part of the world your from, it was either Pippin Reed, Gail Storm or Linda Lovely 😁

ACtUallY AdVENturEs Was mAde iN 1998 -🤓
