Just got a mint used one on eBay for a great price. Excited to get it soon. I'm a designer and my last company had these in the office. Display quality was so good for design work.

How does 1080p content look on this 1440p monitor ? Is it better to watch 1080p content on 1080 monitor ? Or 1440p monitor shows 1080p videos pixelating , unclear edges ?
1080p is lower resolution than 1440p, the monitor will display 1080 the same as a 1080p monitor, but it will look as if its less sharp as the rest of the content will be 1440p
@@psyber84 The newest one is the U2721DE. It's basically the same moniter with newer ports on it, but you wont find good sales on that one like you will on this one
@@alexandrelemieux6718 Oh yeah, that is just how it came up on the camera pal, looked fine in real life. Both of those panels are really good, I've not used that particular one but I'm personally using a 4K BenQ panel at the moment. If you are doing graphics work I would say the BenQ would be better as it has alot more options for colour controls.
Hey I have a bit of a strange question. I the same model and when cleaning times noticed that from the device a heat smell is to be perceived, if you smell directly at the opening slits on top of the device (with me at the right half). Can you tell me if you somewhere at the openings on top, if you smell directly on it, so a smell perceive or, whether it is perhaps a defect.
I never noticed any burning smell while testing it. Sometimes when electronics are brand new you may get some smell during first use. But I did not notice anything.
Hi great review, thinking about getting one for the home office as Dell seem to have a sale on right now. Does it have a visa mount? Looking at some descriptions I would say yes, but when you are clicking in the stand at 3 minutes I don't see any holes.
No you don't need to use scaling, everything is easy to read, but of course depends how far you sit away from it. With a normal distance of 2-3 feet you will be fine.
How is the text resolution? Do you see the pixels for smaller texts at a viewing distance of two feet ? And do you also have a viewing experience when connecting with macbook pro with touchbar ?
Hi text resolution looks great, being 27" and 1440p the text would still be sharp at 2 feet. You won't get sharper unless you go for 4K, but then the text will be very tiny and you may have to zoom in. Unfortunately I have no experience of it with the Macbook, but it is compatible with Macs.
Hey! This is the first time I'll be getting a monitor as I finally feel the need to have one for my design work, and I'm debating between this model and LG's 27" 4K - 27UL550-W. Do you have any opinion for both in comparison? They're currently on sale where I'm at so the price is similar, around $290-300. Thanks!
Hi there, tbh I've not had any experience with that particular LG model, but I have used high end LG monitors in the past. And in my opinion the Dell always looked better, I think it's the final screen finish just makes the colours look alot nicer. I would recommend the dell.
I hope i can help you. I bought the exact same lg model for programming and document viewing and for me it was bad. While the panel was excellent no broken pixels or significant background bleeding or ips glow, in my eyes the colors were very weird the white balance was bad and it was very uncomfortable to work with. There was some kind of weird tone shifts in the colors that I can't explain, for example the blue of the ocean was shifted towards a purpleish tone instead for a nice warm blue like my samsung va or my ips lenovo laptop, and also the whites were some kind of ugly orangish. The image was very tiring to my eyes no matter what brightness settings I had. I tried to make it work for 4 months before giving up and giving it to my sister.
Hi, good review! I'm a graphic designer working on a dell monitor 30', it's an older model, but I want to buy a new monitor. I can't find some that is 30' so I must decide to buy 27' or 32' which I think could be too big, because I have a second monitor 21' on desk too.. what you think? Is 27' enough for work?

Awesome review, thank you!

My U2719D has a thin blue line left of center. Resetting, rebooting and replacing the display port cable did not resolve. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking about buying these two monitors for working from home
Great review. Looking to get this for myself.
Glad you found it useful pal.
is it still relevant, 2 years after it's release?
Yeah it's still a current model.
The newer models will have different features, but they're still using the same IPS panels. As long as it hasn't aged from usage, it's very relevant

Thinking of upgrading to something better than 2x 1080p monitors, looks decent.
If your doing coding, the extra resolution in portrait mode would be great. Deffo worth the upgrade from 1080p!

Hi yes it has vesa mount, they have screws in them as default.
is the 2k@27''to small for 100% scale in windows settings? or you need to change it to 125%/150%? thanks

it's too small trust me I owned one, you need to set it to 125% if not the screen is very rough
I use one. At 100%, the Taskbar is exactly 1 centimeter tall, which is perfect for me.

My laptop has vga, how will I connect it?
Hi, your laptop is quite old, can can get VGA to HDMI adapters but they can be expensive and don't work quite well.
Hi, have you tried pushing the refresh rate to past 60Hz? Probly like 75Hz through Nvidia or AMD software? That would be really helpful. Thanks!
Hi sorry, I did not try that.

What's the difference between this and U2721?
I think that version has additional ports, like RJ45 and Type C
Display, colors etc is the same?
@@StanleyOrloff not sure exactly as I've not tested it, but think it is similar.
Is there a noticable difference between it and 4k monitor?
I would not recommend a 4K monitor at 27" its too small, you need 32" or larger to benefit from the extra resolution.
Can you overclock it to 75hz
Not sure, I have not tried to overclock it.

is it possible to put this on a monitor arm ?
