Two reasons that we wrapped boxes like that with the rope.. First is it makes it so much easier moving the boxes the ropes give you a handle to hold onto.. Second is it keeps everything together even if the boxes get crushed and damaged..
Some historian or archivist probably just died inside when you said throw away all the news papers..those were really good shape and a look at the world, and local stories, etc.
Almost every library has local papers on micro fish back well past the 70's. Collectors may take them for next to nothing but they want mint papers to pay money for them.
I've never seen a storage locker contents that have been packed so well. When the guy put the stuff away back in 1975, he thought "I'm going to pull a joke on someone in the future, I'll wrap EVERYTHING and keep all the bags!
I really enjoyed this video . Ive been buying storage units here in Kentucky for 11 years thanks to guys like yourself I saw on TV. Thanks for turning me on to my retirement career I love so much. Good luck in all that you guys do.
Wow, I was a year old in 1977! I would love to see what's in those boxes because I know there's some great nostalgia and vintage finds! 😃 By the way, the old papers and product containers are very valuable!
Hey guys look into those Corduroy pants. Vintage Corduroy can be good to. I'd really go through the clothes good that aren't stained or destroyed. 70's clothes can be really good. Especially some of the old shoes ya got. So much fun watching. Born in 75 myself
For as long as he has been doing this and as experienced Rene is, it surprises me how he does not see the value in certain things, if its not name brand or something he understands or knows about. At least that's how its portrayed. With some effort those "NOT NIKE" shoes can easily be worth something, with alittle effort into them. I really want to make an offer on the vintage new t's but I'm not local anymore.
I buy clothes from the 70s. They were all made in America back then. I could spend a month going through that. It's my era. Kinf of makes me sad to see them ripping through someone's belongings like that. I know he's looking for the big score, but it's almost like a time capsule of someone's life.
Especially the time, dedication you can see how detailed they packed everything..with love & care...😔 and they are ripping off and out without a care in the world? Unfortunately that's the times we all live now..and that l miss sooooo much!? I'm only in my late 55s!!!!... Omg

How can you not open every piece. There are so many small businesses that could benefit for your trash. You go for a few things and then you just trash the whole box. 😮 Be gentle my gosh.
I love this video. Im curious if they ever research the person that owned everything. If they find something very valuable thats personal, do they return it? Again, this is fun to watch.
I would have put all the paperwork back into that beautiful case so it was all kept together. It would be so interesting to find out all about the person who owned the stuff. And I think a lot of the stuff you trashed would have sold over here in the UK. One man trash is an other man's treasure.
I'm into fashion and the younger people are into something called core fashions. Fairy core and cottage core and vampire core and grandma core; truly they can come up with their own thing too. I seen a girl who was dressing like strawberry shortcake and she would've loved those red heels. Keep all the shoes and all the clothes and lable them as "vintage" and all of it will sell like crazy.
Hi Rene! Thanks as always for the video. The way I took the title is that its a storage locker owned by the same owners since 1977. Regarding items not from 1977. You would have to think someone got a locker & then never used it. Of course there would be stuff from the 80s & later. The locker was USED by the owners LOL. Now can there be items from 1977 untouched? Yes. However that is not guaranteed & not click bait the way you did the title!
@@Bargainhuntersthrift I am sorry. I thought at 1 point you said something in the unit was from the 80s & that people would complain that it wasnt from 1977.
warehouse need to be more organize René 😉👍 Right side in Left side out Table on wheels move it around and do open box on it and use the space smart 😇 Love the show René keep it up 🤩
Crazy how ordinary perishables were wrapped like fine China. I was waiting for you to uncover old Sears and Montgomery Wards catalogs, which is awesome. Don’t throw them away! Looks like packing companies in the 70’s did an incredible job! You would never find a company to pack so well these days.
You know the vintage stuff you are trashing, a lot of it could be sold. I've seen quite a bit that I've seen people searching for. You should check the shoes, dress shoes, suitcases and the dishes. This is the craziest packing I've ever seen.
I'm not making any accusations, but things look pretty clean for that amount of time. My mother's storage unit was only 15 years old and was covered in phil. Plus, isn't that a CD player on that top shelf on the left
Stop and Shop is a Supermarket Chain in the Northeast (MA, RI, CT, NY).....Ironically, they just went back to that same logo after decades with a different logo
Grabe tagal ko na din palang nakasubaybay sainyo mula dun sa una niyong pagkikita sa airport ngayon may anak na kayo 🎉 congratulations Eugene and vika sana ma shout out din ako😅
The way the items are packaged with the rope and the green bags it was probably military shipped. When they came in to pack you up they literally packed everything.
The paperwork would have the name of the person who stored it. It would be interesting to track them and what happened to them that they left their belongings behind. Likely a death - too late for the Vietnam War. We could all die suddenly and no one would know if we have things stored somewhere. I guess I'm just sentimental, but old things, no matter how small are more interesting than a possible sports card.
It's amazing to me at how much you all don't know, you know for knowing so much.
Two reasons that we wrapped boxes like that with the rope..
First is it makes it so much easier moving the boxes the ropes give you a handle to hold onto..
Second is it keeps everything together even if the boxes get crushed and damaged..
As a guy who wears vintage clothes, I can assure you that men's wear is more difficult to find. You found an incredible amount in great condition!
Some historian or archivist probably just died inside when you said throw away all the news papers..those were really good shape and a look at the world, and local stories, etc.
Exactly and it’s possible some of the headlines could have historical significance for serious newspaper collectors.

You may hit the jackpot!! This looks like my parents house!! Remember they lived through the depression
Looks like a hoarder unit so much fun
Omgosh they had some many of those old papers. They gotta be worth something.
Always check inside shoes I found a pound of silver in a pair of old Snickers in a storage unit it's worth the time😊
Snickers? Hehe 😂

The gold was in the dirt! People would go to locations known to have good gold and sneak in and take buckets of dirt to pan later.
Lots of folks collect everyday 1970s items....surprised you trashed so much of the ephemera and branded items..

This storage unit is somewhere on Cape Cod. I noticed that most of the papers are from the Cape. Lots of Barnstable Patriot Sunday papers????
When that stuff was put in that locker, Star Wars was a brand new movie.
One minute of Casey looking like a supermodel is not long enough! We need way more than that! Lol!

Metal vintage dustpan, wow. Haven't seen one since my grandma was alive
The colors were really rich on those shirts for sure
yeah kinda cool
If this is a quick move it makes sense that the food is in the front. Just curious as to why they didn’t take it out.

Don't throw 70s cloth away I make a ton on them on eBay. Levis corduroy bring $75-225 depending on tag and condition.
we kept whatever is good , didn't know about levis corduroy
people will pay for old shampoo and conditioner and make up compacts..etc.
Interesting unit
Yes was different
Renes getting to be a big boy!... I haven't seen him since the storage wars days.
Where can we buy the clothing?
Hope all is good 👍🏼
Those 1970's red shoes are worth money if they are in OK shape. They sell for over 100.00 on eBay.
Knew this was northeast when saw the stop and shop. Nice to see their old branding.
Brings back memories right !
25mins in..
Maybe being balls deep into the cold war back then in 1977, folks considered tight wrapping a turd
JUST IN CASE...
im sure theres a bag for that and string somewhere too
Those catalogues! Oh my!
The best stuff maybe in the last box
You never know , locked trunks are next !
Please put links to the videos that come from 1 locker. It would be much more enjoyable to watch that way!
When I worked at the airport, packages from overseas countries would come with the string like that.

Haha good eye, but it looked bigger than it should have, I think maybe a picture?
whats the oldest pallet or boxes you have that you have not looked at ? .
Don't even know we have so much
The star may be the blank tees if there vintage 70-80's they have a market and a value. They look to be USA made and perhaps single stich.

This is constructive criticism: the audio quality is not good and hinders watching the video.
We will start to use our mics again , was it because of the wind>?
Do you guys have any like specific storage places that you like to buy
yes but we keep those on a downlow
