hey iv done some mods on my 1/18 one being all new metal body i blew the stock motor doing the dual motor setup i also chopped the internal shock springs then end up changing the back shock but it works great thanks for the great video!!!
+Jordan smith (Eclipse Films) hey jordan. Unfortunately i haven't found a way to improve the steering yet on the truck. I will agree... it isn't all that great. Lol
thanks for getting back to me iv been trying if you put a longer steering link in the front you have to cut the little piece of metal on the knuckle that hits the back of the axle of more turing .. i yet to do that I'm going to swap transfer case out asap with a losi micro or the ambush you think it can be done just for easy motor swap as the stock set up real limits power and replacements keep up the great work
Thanks for posting this very useful and well done mod video. You probably saved me a night of cursing over those shocks. Tell the guys at Cow RC they owe you a commission for the butter I just purchased from them thanks to you!
I have been running a grease and oil mix in my shocks for three years. I have found it’s the only way they won’t leak and also keep great resistance. If it’s to much resistance just add a little oil to your grease to thin in out a bit. Just my experience though.
This is a great video! I just bought one of these trucks and the tips will be handy! I don't have plans to upgrade to dual motors yet but that is cool! I subscribed and liked this video! I will be watching for any future upgrades or tips!! Thanks from a Canadian RC fan!
Great vid man. Thanks. I just picked up the BlackJack second version of this thing... do you have one yet and are you going to see about making these similar mods on it?
Thanks for the video! I got one in fantastic condition used for s good price. Didnt know a thing about the v1 and v2 tranny. I can’t even go over a rock lol. Wonder why they released it with the v1. Going to order one ASAP
+Crazzybear1408 i know, i only said it because i know some people would have made the comment that it should have any play. So in a sense i was covering all the bases. Lol
When you moved your links inside, did it block one of the holes for the diff cover? I moved my kinks but now one screw hole is blocked. How did you get by that?
This looks like it's crawling nicely. I'm having trouble since the ESC feels more like an on/off switch rather than a controller. Am i doing anything wrong or was my truck assembled on a monday morning?
Hi , great videos & thanks for the modification tips 👍 have you had a look for possible modifications to the steering to minimise the turning circle? My D90 needs about 60" to turn in a circle!! My HPI Baja 1/5 takes less space to turn.
5:38 how did you get the screws in axle side of the links? There is no room to get a 1.5mm driver or allen key in there? I took mine off last night and just got frustrated so I put them back on the outside of the axle mount. I see why RC4WD built them that way..lol. Easier even if it binds the suspension. Any tips on exactly how you got those screws in place without a big headache? :)
+ScorchinScooter lol as mentioned in the beginning of the tutorial i said its easier to pull off the entire axle to perform all these tips. With the axle off and wile your re greasing the diff gears, pull the front housing off were the driveshafts go into the axle. With that being off your able to get a much better access to those inside screw wholes and better access to clean and re grease those gears all at the same time. Lol, hope that helps ya.
That helps big time! I am such a newbie with this little truck! I feel intimidated at how small every part is. I don't want to destroy this thing. I am in Canada and parts are harder to get and more costly due to our dollar being so weak! It is very nice of you to reply so quickly. I appreciate that very much! Your videos are great. I just need to pay more attention and re-watch them!! LOL. I am liking the little truck so far and will tear it down soon but I am lazy! I love the dual motor setup but for me I can't justify the expense yet. I have another bigger build I want to start. The RC4WD Cruiser Gelande II. It will be leaf spring converted if I ever figure that part out.
+RC TREK thanks man! It is a blast especially after i improved the motor. And i honestly forget the name of the tire but its from RC4WD and i have a link in Fridays video thats coming out that those tires will be listed in it. You know what, their may be a link in this videos description for the tires.
+Genesis Squadz (GenesisX) yes they are amazing axles. However i myself can justify spending that much on an axle I'm gonna use all the time just to bang it up. If i was gonna run it occasionally and mostly have a shelf queen. Then I'd invest in them. But thats also just my personal opinion. But they are worth every penny.
+Josh R yes absolutely. However if the shocks have fluid in them theirs no need to apply grease. As the fluid will act as the lubricant and the piston and whole size will effect the fluid flow rate.
ok, sweet cuz I got an RC buggy with shocks that I can't add oil/fluid. I was looking for an alternative and just happen to come across this. btw I subscribed!
RC Overload I believe he means a working differential. Most crawlers have a locked differential meaning both wheels attached to that axle will both always spin in the desired direction. While most cars have an open differential for traveling on roads and getting a better turning radius. To answer the question no the Gelenda does not have a differential. It has a locked differential and a 4wd transmission/transfer case meaning that all 4 wheels will all spin at once. But it does have a ring and pinion gear as shown in the video why other crawlers have a worm gear to act as a drag brake. Hope I helped!
+Ethan Boening thank you Ethan for answering that question. When i was talking about the differential, i was talking about everything internally as a whole. I wasn't trying to really specify a locked or open diff. Just using the term as basic wording. But yes what Ethan described to you is correct.
+pitbikepig mine is still going strong. At least 50 charges threw it. Only replaced the servo after doing a mudding video and burnt it out. Also i have a few videos out on the ambush when it first came out.
Wtf yours must be different as its soft as muck, it needs stiffening and damping, as for arsing on with diff grease? Lol answer is there was some! so leave alone! Everything else you've done was negligible, kinda wasting time but that's in the hobby but so maaaany ppl ruin there trucks through this siliiness, a good mod is worth doing, fiddling is detrimental and that d90 is way overpriced by a massive amount

just bought one after watching your vids. Thanks
Awesome vid man ! Thanks for review and upgrades !
You are good you make nice videos, with good tips and you speak very very nice.

Thanks from a Canadian RC fan!
Thanks for watching! And hopefully soon ill have a few more tips coming out. Got a few ideas brewing at the moment!
Have you waterproofed anything in the electronics? That will be interesting to see and know what is best. :)
What motor/esc are you using?
Great advice. Thanks.
Great vid man. Thanks. I just picked up the BlackJack second version of this thing... do you have one yet and are you going to see about making these similar mods on it?
Really nice video!!!
+Marco A. Thanks!
What tool did you use to move the links to the inside of the mounts
Thanks for the video! I got one in fantastic condition used for s good price. Didnt know a thing about the v1 and v2 tranny. I can’t even go over a rock lol. Wonder why they released it with the v1. Going to order one ASAP
good job thinking getting one of those or a yeti jr
+Hollis Bourn haven't tried the yeti JR yet. But looks promising.
I wonder if you could make your own Delron links, and find another smaller maybe Losi style shock that would fit the truck.
it has play because it's not bidding anymore and that allows it to move more freely gives you more articulation
+Crazzybear1408 i know, i only said it because i know some people would have made the comment that it should have any play. So in a sense i was covering all the bases. Lol

My D90 needs about 60" to turn in a circle!! My HPI Baja 1/5 takes less space to turn.
I had the pin in the yoke come out that holds in d/s, any suggestions to prevent or do they have up graded shafts for these yet?
Hi! Nice videos! They are very useful for my Gelande. One question, can you upload a photo of the buttons on the remote? Sorry my bad english! :)
Name of grease?
What size are this tires they look wider than the original. Can u post a link or be more specific as to what tire it is please!
Just got one of these, hire do you go about making it water proof?
5:38 how did you get the screws in axle side of the links? There is no room to get a 1.5mm driver or allen key in there? Just ordered mine today. Been watching your videos on this rig. Seems like a great truck. Can't wait to get it. What tire setup are you running?

How to change tires stamped steel rim
Are vanquish curries for scx10 2 worth they price?
+Genesis Squadz (GenesisX) yes they are amazing axles. However i myself can justify spending that much on an axle I'm gonna use all the time just to bang it up. If i was gonna run it occasionally and mostly have a shelf queen. Then I'd invest in them. But thats also just my personal opinion. But they are worth every penny.
Great
what do you feel like some weights to the body in might stop the bouncing
+Crazzybear1408 adding some weights might definitely help. However adding a little grease to the shocks won't hurt either lol
Hey man what tool did u use to change the lower links to the inside on the Gelande ? I can’t seem to get any Allen in there lol.
Try some needle nose pliers
Or maybe ask a kid, I'm one and just used my fingers
mhmmm! Much better!
can u do the shock mod to bigger trucks?
+Josh R yes absolutely. However if the shocks have fluid in them theirs no need to apply grease. As the fluid will act as the lubricant and the piston and whole size will effect the fluid flow rate.
ok, sweet cuz I got an RC buggy with shocks that I can't add oil/fluid. I was looking for an alternative and just happen to come across this. btw I subscribed!
Where did u get the tires?
rc4wd.com
Does it have a differential? Even and scx10 dosen't!

it would be nice if you would do these kind of videos with a proline ambush oh wait ambushes all die in 6 months
+pitbikepig mine is still going strong. At least 50 charges threw it. Only replaced the servo after doing a mudding video and burnt it out. Also i have a few videos out on the ambush when it first came out.
I just went on ebay can’t find the guy kdmodels
Suspension**😁
+GoPro Bro fixed...
😂love the videoes
