LOL not in this series...
Obi wan explained to us what the force is back in 1977 and nothing can change that.
"The Force is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together." 😊❤
Obiwan would also admit that he does not speak for the force. Watch the movies again. Luke disagreed with Obi-Wan over his father. I guess luke doesn't understand the force either.
The force has another chick in it, and it's lame and gay.
The force has been changing, even since Empire Strikes Back
The force has no gender 😉
It’s now 32% audience score but has jumped up 93% by critics.
Most of those reviews came before the show even aired, I would take them with a grain of salt.
You know, Star Wars theory and geeks and gamers had their people sabotage that score. These people will not be happy…ever. These people are anti-woke (let’s remember that woke just means that you are aware and sensitive too prejudice and racism) and they definitely don’t want any type of diversity except for secondary characters. They are in the same vein as Trump supporters. You’re never gonna convince them and they would rather burn the whole place down before they admitted to perhaps being wrong. They are on the guy that plays Yord for saying that Anakin blew up the death star…. But they don’t say shit about the fact Harrison Ford will tell you all day every day that he don’t give a F%$* about canon. They have been out of shape because one Jedi on the council said the Sith have not been seen in a millennium, and therefore this all breaks canon. Obi-Wan Kenobi said that Vader killed Luke’s father. That was canon until Empire strikes back. We can go on and on. but you simply can’t reason with these people.
You can't tell me anymore that you can still take Rotten Tomatoes etc. seriously in a 2024. I used to look at it, but today it doesn't make sense anymore because either something is praised to the heavens or hated. For this reason, this score has lost its effect and meaning for me
@@DreadfulUtopia Just like the critics scores.
@@andrewprice8940the critics actually watched the show though😂😂😂😂
Nothing will ever change how I view the force.
And may that force always be with you.
Everything will change my view of the force. New ideas keep Star Wars fresh. If they repeat the same of things (cough sequels), then Star Wars get boring.
No one is forcing you to change your view
@@user-du9md6ux8mno. They're just rewriting how we see the force.
@@ShawnHCorey but we can't abandon the fundamentals that make star wars star wars, like the sequels did.
I tend to discard any broadsheet reviews for popular programmes, they have a superiority complex where their media degree makes them snobby and out of touch with audiences. I'd hate to watch what the telegraph thinks is good, probably 2 hours of a blue screen
Truth!
You should check out Derek Jarman’s “Blue”, it’s exactly what you described. Brilliant coincidence 🙌
@@Humanoid1975 just imagine the impact on disney + subscriptions if this is all they were showing just to please the critics
Something tells me this is going to be a big nothing-burger by the end of all this, like how people got (and still get) their panties in a bunch over the idea that midi-chlorians "created the Force" when they're actually just a conduit to access it and a measure of raw natural talent. Eh. We'll see once the show's all said and done.
George has hinted that The Whills created or tapped into the midichlorians, so what we really need is a "Journal of the Whills" series with George as executive producer.
@@user-zl9sh9mz6h Right? Maybe Leslye will bring up the whole "The Whills are influencing the midi-chlorians" thing that George wanted to explore in the sequel trilogy and that's what people are reacting to. Or maybe the whole "the Dark Side soured the milk for the Whills so they influence the midi-chlorians to create Anakin to bring the Force back into balance" thing.
@@LeChaunceYep!😊
You will be wrong
Except this has extreme cultural symbols for real life while the producers and creators laugh about it. This will affect and effect people greatly while they have ZERO care about it. They made the money and don't care about you or anyone. It's an act. Evil people.
The Acolyte is a Star Wars murder mystery version of Columbo. The mystery is revealed pretty much straight away, just as the beginning of every Columbo the viewer gets to see the murder and the murderer. We just get to see Columbo bumble his way through the investigation
One of my fave creator said they made him think the show initally was about the Sith and I was thinking they NEVER said that at all. Were people not listening? This was about the Jedi at their prime and murder mystery🤷♀
I would love to see a Jedi with a rumpled raincoat and a chewed-on cigar! 😅
It’s not really a murder mystery, we know who did it. The mystery is the Sith guy and what happened with the fire.
@@user-zl9sh9mz6h one more thing doc pershing… you see it’s always the little details that bother me. You say you won’t hurt this green frog looking kid, but I noticed vials and syringes by your desk on Monday when I first came to see you. Can you explain that to me 🤣 🤣 🤣
@detectivesquirrel2621 Columbo is amazing show. Fun fact: Steven Spielberg directed the first episode (not the pilot) murder by the book. It was one of his earliest directorial ventures.
Honestly everyone wants controversy. I’ve given up picking a side or concerning myself with purity to the lore. I’m here to enjoy the ride and the new show, that simple. Can’t wait for ep. 3!
Yep same! I will make my own judgement when it comes to any movie, tv show, video games, etc.
This is what happens when groups invade beloved franchises where a fanbase care alot about that specific thing. And i mean "invade" as in they come in and bring in all this ideology, to that thing. I get it, for most of those people, they honestly believe they are doing something positive and bringing in "progressivism" into such a beloved franchise. I only argue that for where *Star Wars* is concerned, it has always been a very "Diverse" and progressive world, through it's many characters, even it's fandom in general.
I think fundamentally the main reason why everything is becoming controversial is because of the specific way inwhich these writers try to inject their ideology into these newer stories.
The only real negative thing I have to say thus far is not having Yoda in it is a baffling over sight. It makes no canon sense why he’s not in the show
the effect of not watching any trailers or speculative content before watching this series has been very interesting
The force has many different interpretation by different cultures... The Jedi, the Sith, the Nightsisters magic, the mountain clan of Dathomir, the people of Bardotta... The Mortis... I love when we get different perspectives of the force, people think they already know everything about this power, but the truth is, the force is magical, it's mystical... Not even the grand Jedi Masters, better, the ones who has great knowledge, don't know everything about it.
Truth!
There’s always been different groups of force wielders (night sisters, Baran Do, The brother-the sister -and the father etc)
None of these characters existed before the Clone wars. That's why they never appeared in a Movie. The Nightsisters are a bad idea. It was cool they helped Maul, but I never saw them as a threat. They have no real power.
The Nightsisters debuted in 1994 in a novel called "The Courtship of Princess Leia", and George Lucas approved their inclusion on the "Clone Wars" series. It was his idea to make them part of Maul's origin.
The mortis gods and nightsisters both were signed off on by George Lucas.
@@Infamous1892 there an isolated cult why do they have to be a threat. I do see what makes them such a bad idea
@@Infamous1892I mean Talzin had enough power to be considered a threat by Palpatine.
The Force is interpreted by different cultures in different ways. The Jedi see it as a positive thing, the Sith as a negative thing, the Bendu views it as something in the middle. In our world, it's called "The Dao", which means "The Way". The Force Priestesses from the Yoda Trilogy at the end of "Clone Wars" Season 6 seemed to have a relatively Jedi-like approach to The Force. Your mileage may vary. 😊☯️
And these aren’t ALL the force sensitive societies and interpretations. Fans should just be glad we now have more media that we may find that we like and enjoy.
The Sith do not see the force as a negative thing they see it as a path to power. Those are not the same thing. The Ashlan and Bogan were the yin and yang of the force. The struggle between Jedi and Sith is mirroring of that. One views it as a path to power the other a path to peace.
Is Mara’s view of reality just as ‘good’ as Buddha’s?
Is Lucifer’s view of reality just as ‘good’ as Christ’s?
I don’t believe so. But I suspect some people do.
“What am I to do? I can't help it.”
The issue is the constant political USA agendas bruh. I wanna watch Star wars shit. Not chimp shit. The writing and acting are bad: really bad. Acolyte is objectively shit if you can possibly open your mind for a moment. It really is garbage writing, acting, cinematography. It's Bolly Wood movie at best.
Ah, moral relativism, the hallmark of all acts of atrocity.
People were mad at andor for “not feeling like star wars at all”. And now people people are saying the acolyte “isn’t taking enough risks and is too tropie”. So what do you want?
Nothing will please a person who is determined to hate something.
😂
SW "Fandom" is all over the place. They are a confused bunch lol
I think Andor could have done with a few more things to make it feel a bit more Star Wars. Acolyte is ok so far but see where people are coming from with it seeming a bit unoriginal. The "I've got a bad feeling about this" line is definitely overused and I think it's that kind of stuff people pick on. The dialogue wasn't great for episodes 1 and 2. Nothing's perfect though so I'll carry on watching. Nothing wrong with fans wanting a fresh take on things though. I don't see the point in trashing the whole thing because you don't like little parts of the show but on the flipside it's also ok to point out elements you're not into.
@@babytoshiro7014 bit of a daft statement there. From the hundreds of thousands of people that like Star Wars, different folks like different bits and pieces of the franchise. You're always going to have discussion and disagreement between such a huge fan base. I think some of it is total shit, some great and some mediocre. I'm not confused about it, I'll keep watching and when it's good I enjoy it and when it's crap I forget about it mostly and like discussing it with other fans.
Regardless what news articles say, and regardless what fans say, im really enjoying the Acolyte. Im excited for episode 3. I don’t really have anything negative to say about it. Its an exciting show, taking place 100 years before the Skywalker saga, and that to me is a breath of fresh air. Something different suck on.
The series got review bombed before it even came out. Its so sad that people have nothing better to do, but you cant trust the review sites for anything Star Wars. I think I will watch the whole show before delivering a final verdict. for most of the star wars shows so far, I feel they are better when you can watch it all, rather than one episode at a time. I'm conflicted! I thought the episodes were fine.
It was. I liked it. I liked the OP Jedi. I want his story.
I've said this elsewhere, but fans of Star Wars hate Star Wars. It's all about wanting what's not there and hating what is there. I made it almost 4 minutes in and they said it was both too Star Wars-y and not Star Wars-y enough. Huh? Star Wars has always been about duality. Across the board. The sense of 2 has been all through Lucas's movies since A New Hope. And getting upset at transition wipes in Star Wars content is ludicrous. Getting upset at aliens that all look like women and calling them lesbian is nuts. How do we know Jawas aren't all dudes? I saw a tile that said Finn should have been the protagonist of the ST. If that happened, people would be crying that they are woke for having a black dude as the hero... The problem with Star Wars is that it is nostalgic content that geek culture want to stay theirs and not be popular.
I feel like there are two things going on.
First Starwars fans expect this IP to be handled at a higher level than just some blockbuster movie. Strong dialogue, character development, compiling story, and attention to detail when it comes to fitting into the existing universe. There have been some misses ...
Second, there seem to be some loud Anit-Woke warriors who see everything through the lens of women and minorities shouldn't hold anything more than auxiliary roles in movies or society.
You can't please everyone.
Darn right! 👍

Same here! I went into the show with extremely low expectations and ended up being very intrigued by it! I want to see more and know more about this story being told!!😎👍🏿
Oh, this show is definitely getting review bombed. But I’m seeing a lot of positive reviews on Facebook, so it seems like it’s just up to the individual whether they like it so far. Remember Andor was getting review bombed too, until the later episodes, and that prison escape episode pretty much changed everyone’s view of it in a good way.
The force is ever changing, it's life the wielders adapt as best they can each and every generation
What the fuck are you talking about? That's not how the force works. It doesn't evolve like a Pokemon. It can't digivolve, it can't fusion dance. The force is an energy, a life force like the wind, like fire, like water, like earth it can't change because you say so.
Yes, it changed into two human women having a child somehow. Why don't they just create an...holy shiat this is going to be mind-blowing...their own original Sci-Fi space drama?
I'm generally trying to avoid spoilers but here's my take if this is what they do, and especially in regards to the prophecy
That seems like it could work though, because we only have allusions to the prophecy and if you have other potentials you better be certain you pick the right one or else!
If being conceived by the force is part of the criteria I can see it working, as the council didn't seem super surprised when Qui Gon brings up the possibility
Almost like maybe they've seen it before but not been convinced.
I don't think it's lore breaking
THIS
I think a big reveal is that all kinds of non-Jedi groups are using the Force to do things the Jedi hate.
And the Jedi are PISSED the Force is shared and used like that. They thought their abilities made them "special", "superior", rigid, monastic.
I think that it will turn out that the Coven does something powerful with the Force. Something "unnatural".
Notice no men in the Coven, then how are children there?
Maybe, the Witches create them with the Force.
They conceive children/create pregnancies, or even to split a singleton zygote into twins and create an artificial dyad.
That may even be where Darth Plagueis, as a Jedi, got the idea of using the Force to create life - and then later taught it to Palpatine (one of the "unnatural" abilities).
Palpatine used that information to create Anakin from Shmii (maybe he experimented on many slaves he forgot about, or maybe he KNEW), he manipulated/interfere in Padme's pregnancy at a later stage - killing her but wasn't sure the child/children died, and then he used it, unsuccessfully, to experiment in cloning - artificial pregnancies - later on.
Maybe Rey/Ben are a natural dyad, maybe not. They both came from Force sensitive families, maybe Palpatine interfered/experimented there, too.
And the toxic random will HATE IT ALL, even though it makes sense.
I'm even betting on a late "reveal" of "The Mother" (Abeloth) as a far behind the scenes influence (the dark figure's mask mouth is verrrrry similar) using the power of creation to influence/manipulate.
And tying all this into the Mortis Gods in Asoka.
Maybe the last shot at the end will be her smile.
All the "twin" and "mother" references are going somewhere.
So many magic twins or "dyads".
Especially as ACTUAL TWINS were in on the production.
In this story the Jedi *freaked out*, inappropriately, at *something* "cultural" (outside the Jedi ivory tower/privileged life).
The Jedi saw the "inferior" Witches do something powerful and threatening, then they arrogantly judged, interfered in, destroyed, and then covered up their bigoted mistake.
Now, they have remorse.
Guilt.
And they deserve consequences.
This has more to do with the fact that Lesley Headland has a chequered past in the the form of HW. Most of the people I have watched has always quoted "the former personal assistant to HW" when talking about The Acolyte, what does anyone expect from the narrow minded sheeple that follow grifters who are more interested in getting more clicks on videos than the proceeding one. Videos that trash this show come out of it lightly, anyone who dare even hint at liking it get ratioed. Its the blind leading the dumb. Of course these same voices are incredibly silent when it comes to good viewing, like Andor, The Blue Eyed Samurai, Arcane, all pretty much ignored because of their positive reception. The grifters are like leeches that only come out from the dark when something can be gleamed to benefit themselves, even when they will tell you a franchise is dead and won't be watching ......... but look .......there they are .....
I'd say it's really a case of what comes around goes around. Back in 2017/18 it was the other way around and fans who so dared to criticise a certain "Divisive Movie" back then were the ones who got heavily attacked, branded "ists and phobes". Their criticisms completely dissmissed by both the mainstream access media, and by the big mouse-house. Eventually after the backlash died down and the dust had settled, what happened? More and more people started to see exactly what that side of the fandom had been trying to point out all along.
Now where Leslye Headland is concerned, I don't think you should judge a person on who or where they used to work for; at sametime it seems there is something alittle off, something rather shady with the Fact Mrs Headland actually has a NDA in place regarding her previous employer one HW. Meaning no reporter, no person she works for, no one whatsoever can even ask her anything at all, about her time working for one HW.
It is this issue that's at the heart of why so many have a problem with Leslye Headland, if she never once knew, saw or heard anything about HW's "chequered past" during the time she worked for him. Then WHY does she even need to have a NDA in place??
Star Wars fans can’t help themselves. They draw way too many conclusions way too early in the show. Let it build.
They really can't be patient. It's sad really because no other fandom is as impatient and weird like SW fandom.

I don’t want anyone at Lucasfilm touching KOTOR or any other era until there’s a complete change in management top to bottom to a George Lucas vision management style with a bold red line striking through all the Disney era mess that’s gone astray away from George’s vision.
So far, I can say I don't love it, but I don't hate it.

Hmm, Acolyte debating the balance of the force. The last time I heard about that was in 'Revenge of the Sith" when it is ALLEGED that Anakin didn't bring 'balance' to the force. On a different viewpoint I would argue that Anakin (AFTER he went to the dark side) DID bring balance to the force. For decades at least the balance of the force has been DEEPLY to the light side. Anakin a VERY powerful being on the DARK side could and probably DOES restore balance to the force, reducing the deep inbalance toward the light side.
Disney cannot be trusted with the Force.
I agree with you with the issue of the Force interpretation. The Witches of Dathomir had their own interpretation of the Force and some Legends Societies had theirs too and I must remind fans that The Father, The Son and The Daughter in Mortis represented 3 different aspects of the Force. I am not in odds with that ATM.
By the last episode one of the twins goes into hiding and adopts the name skywalker making her the great great great grandmother of anakin
Critics are worthless. They are so negative. I like how different some of the Jedi are. You can see the arrogance, the rigidness, complacent nature that would set in when they have been in power for so long.
I’m interested in the story and where it goes. I like how it’s started.
I rather watch the whole show my self and make up my own mind than listen to critics who have only seen half the season and making absolute conclusions on it.

When it comes to the Live-Action "Star Wars" shows so far, in my opinion, the only one that truly worked episodically was "The Mandalorian".
BOBF, Kenobi, Andor and Ahsoka should have either been movies, or have all episodes drop at once, Netflix style. Those shows were SO much better when binge watched. The flow was better and the pacing worked. Once you separate those stories into sections and a week apart from each other, you lose all momentum. I can already tell that "The Acolyte" is going to suffer from the same issue.
I'm on the fence, but I am considering just stopping until it's complete, then go in for the full watch and better experience.
Both kenobi and the boba fett should definitely have been a movie.
Andor already has a movie. It's titled Rogue One. Where he dies.

If you make movies/ shows/ plays that are loved by the critics only, do not be surprised when the audience (Ye Public/ We the people) could not give a rat's arse. Entertainment if popular, draws people in (the audience). It repels them, if it fails to draw the audience. This has not changed since Live theater in Greco-Roman Times. Some of the non-fan outlet reviews are saying "wow, there's witches in Star Wars now. Ridiculous". Hm. I get not watching "the cartoons", but the Nightsisters are front and center in Ahsoka.
I can see how another culture might have a different explanation of the Force. For me, I'm sticking with Obi-Wan's explanation.

Most of these professional reviewers don’t give a damn about Star Wars beyond casual, mainstream fandom.
Apparently it changes the Chosen One prophecy as well? Multiple Chosen Ones is what I've heard
On "Rebels", when Maul asks Obi-Wan if Luke is The Chosen One, Obi-Wan answers yes. Maul replies, "Good, he will avenge us". Furthermore, George has said that his plan for Episodes 7-9 were to reveal Leia as The Chosen One. So the situation is complex. 😊
@@user-zl9sh9mz6hPeople still don't get this scene? Obi Wan thought Luke was The Chosen One because Anakin turned to the dark side and Obi Wan lost hope, but it was always Anakin. Hmm I don't know if it is really that. I think she has grown alot in recent years. Whether some may call her "woke" or whatever, she is a passionate starwars fan, and I am starting to notice she just wants to be able to enjoy *Star Wars* again. I think she is honestly just fed up of the drama and division. I'll straight up say right now, I'll never like the sequels, but I do want very much to move away from those movies and just the whole Skywalker era now.
I havnt even watched this show, I'm just trying to gain a overall understanding of how the fans feel about the Acolyte itself. I want starwars to be great again.
Most likely it will be a nothingburger and blowing severely out of proportion. I've also heard many conflicting messages and reports about episode 3 as well. I've heard that a female Force entity shows up. That kind of sounds like Abeloth to me. I've also heard that the coven of witches have the twins through immaculate conception that was caused by the force.
Which one of these is correct I don't know. Although I might lean more towards the Abeloth one being correct because I've heard about that more than I have the other one.
Or it could be wrong and neither of them be correct.
Most likely when it comes to things like this it's usually a nothingburger and completely blown up and made to be a bigger deal than what it actually is.
Andor was good, but if you compare the first 2 episode of Andor vs the first 2 episode of The Acolyte. Acolyte wins with flying colors! Let's not forget that we are still at the beginning of the show and plenty of opportunities to do better (or ruin everything) still to come.
This show is about what I was expecting from all the interviews beforehand and when it’s done and over lots of people are going to be upset that’s just Star Wars now.
Thanks Rat King.
I'm liking this show a little less and less a day. The suicide really didn't sit well with me at all. I also will always wish Carrie-Anne Moss' character lasted longer. I'm not happy about the third episode either.
Always value your assessments. Thank you!
I agree with the criticism that there are great moments and low moments. The actor playing Sol is fantastic. Then there is Torbin's beard. Getting into the Jedi lore is intriguing. And then Indara gets a terrible death that doesn't make sense for a Jedi of her skill.
Great roundup of the reviews. This cottage industry of reviewing a show before it finishes is absurd (not your reviews, the “traditional” outlets).
Great job!
DITCH THE AI VOICE.
Liked both episodes and already rewatched
No familiar Aliens. We don't see no familiar Aliens from the original trilogy or prequels. That's why some of the projects doesn't feel like star wars( to me) almost no sense of familiarity. Over all this is a welcome addition to the universe
I’ll be honest, I’ve hated everything pretty much besides Andor and Mando s1 / s2. But I actually don’t think this show is that bad.
Fight choreography is better then every other show, characters emotions are closer to Andor then anything else, and the way they frame shots is pretty solid as well.
We’ve only had 1 hour with these characters so far so I’m willing to give it a few more episodes before really shitting on it. SO FAR the issues we all had with the marketing push doesn’t seem to be influencing the actual story….. but that may change. We’ll see
I've long held the opinion that both the Jedi and the Sith had the wrong idea about the force. Balance was never an absence of one or the other...or even the existence of either, but rather, both in equal...or even more like the Bendu. Neutrality.
Even we fans may have the wrong idea.
I kept waiting for Osha to use her Force training, and she hasn't yet during the first 2 episodes. Is that why she left the Order? Or was her access to the Force blocked? The 'hook' to pull you into the series is missing, but I will stay and see it to the end
I think people should enjoy whatever star wars gives us as long as it's a decent show for adults and not kids.
And, reviewing episodes ahead of what is aired is dumb. We haven't had the pleasure yet but foul tongues complaining humans always get first.
I appreciate your more balanced take on Acolyte and Star Wars in general. Everything I hear see about it is either "Anti-woke" people ranting about it or others giving disingenuous feeling genetic reviews.
Is this whole video her only reading all negative reviews and still claiming to not be biased?
Certainly seems like it.
@@andrewhodges4823 You didn't watch it did you.
Yes. I saw about one review that I would describe as positive.
I was out when Carrie Anne Moss only had 2 minutes of screen time
The force remains a mystery to this day.
I mean if they use lazer sword dagers instead of boot knives we got something but its lack of vision is failing
This is the same thing as giving Reva an arc like Vader after giving Rey a repeat of Luke's arc; why do we need another miracle birth? Lucasfilm seem determined to push ideas that weren't popular in the sequels into other parts of the timeline; dyads, stand clones, planet names and references, slow mo during fights, lightsaber stabs that heal....
Assuming this “change to the force” is the witches of Dathomir, than no. This has been a continual part of Star Wars cannon for almost 30 years, there are other types of spirituality in the Star Wars universe than the force.
Personally I think it’s already better than Kenobi
I’m a big Star Wars fan. But at no point have I ever thought Star Wars or The Force was ever to only follow one concept or rule. So far, The Acolyte has real potential for becoming something grand. Maybe when we are introduced to the leader of the witches, we’ll start to feel the meat of this series…. I hope we will.
It appears there are conflicts within the Force, itself, that The Acolyte series is trying to expose. Already, we’re introduced to a serious Jedi cover-up which some are trying to continue, while others are seeking to expose.
Also, the fact the cult is being introduced may shed some future reference toward tapping the abilities of everyone’s favorite, Asajj Ventress. This series could be creating the foundation for her future, as well as the Night Sisters.
We’ve learned the Force can be tapped by those capable. Good or Evil, or indifferent, the Force is creating controversies which need to be explored and understood.
Let's be honest this is the first venture into the High Republic era...yes I felt like Venestra Roh's character fell flat, but Jecki and Master Sol really worked for me. I think some fans are so used to seeing the Skywalkers they can't get past the idea of a show that doesn't feature them so it gives them an avenue to complain. Is this Andor quality..no definitely not, but in some ways it's an unfair comparison. To the lay fan that has not read any High Republic novels or comics this series isn't going to make a lot of sense, but I will give it a chance. It's not like Leslye Headlund doesn't love and appreciate Star Wars..she is definitely a fan. This is just a huge risk and I applaud her for trying something different. They already have this show setup for multiple seasons and to say oh after 2 episodes it's pure trash is just unfair. Now if we go through the whole 1st season and it's flat than some criticism may be valid. Just my take on this...let's see what happens. MTFBWU with Meg and all subscribers ❤️
Having a monolithic view of the force, when we've already seen different uses of by the Dathomiri and others is exactly the kind of closed-mindedness that lead the Jedi to their downfall.
Having various worlds have multiple interpretations of and ways to interact with the force makes it a much richer tapestry, and actually harkens back to the EU stuff.
I will be honest. I love The Acolyte show but if these leaks change GL conception about the force then i won't watch it any further. It seems Disney want to keep pushing fans away or dividing them. GL in his recent interview already said that Disney are not getting the concept of the force and going on a different path than what he hoped. Its all on camera to prove this.
It really dont feel like its star wars except jedu robes.
I 100% agree with you on another group having a different interpretation doesn’t mean all of Lucas’s force stuff is getting thrown out the window. The channels crying about have to realize that and it makes me really suspicious of the real reason they’re saying otherwise
We just want Andor level writing with lightsabers and Jedi.
Mae would have been easily captured multiple times if not for plot armor.
How could anything be shown a little too soon? There are only 8 35 min episodes!
The reason I am staying away from any comments on the Acolyte. I am enjoying it. I can deal with this and one other site. No others.
If it's to do with the witch coven and they're simply just another faction of Force Sensitives thats cool, George Lucas introduced the Dathomirians, the Witches of Dathomir. The Force can go beyond just the "Jedi & Sith". Maybe what's not helping the Acolyte is Leslye Headland just trying to do too much, she's trying to make a murder detective story, while trying to do all these other things at the sametime. Mythology, interpersonal relationships, matrix-teahouse inspired martial arts (force-fu lol).
But yes, "who is pulling the strings?" in this series, that is the question. Imo I would honestly like them to make it be "Abeloth", and that she is not just manipulating Osha/Mae or the Jedi, but she's even manipulating the witch coven too. I think that could be really, really interesting if it's explored and handled properly; I mean it could even connect to what Filoni is doing with his Ahsoka series.
lastly i havnt even watched this show, I don't want to go into something and just end up dissappointed to where I'm picking it apart. I have chosen to just sit and wait for this show to come out in it's entirety; and see what the overall fan reception is for it.
"The Force is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together" this is what we we told in the original film. How individual people or groups explain this or attribute 'religious' significance or dogma to it are probably myriad through out the Galaxy. It's interpretation does not have to be just the Jedi/Sith explanation. We've already seen the Night Sisters and the Mountain Clan with their take on it. Look at human societies - the sun rises in the morning and dozens of reasons were formulated by early people.
Episode 2 has like an edit problem. Don't know if you mentioned it or not. While waiting Mae to arrive and the team splits up. Osha is waiting in the hallway there is a hooded figure approaching Osha not once but 2x. The 26:19 mark and 26:29 as well. Is it a bad edit. Looks like Indara in my opinion.
From what I heard there will be more backlash from episode 3 then there was from the last Jedi
I predicted this would be rubbish... It turns out I was correct.
So far, it doesn't really talk to me like other SW series have. I'll watch it though and see how it all works out and maybe it'll get better as it goes along.
Vernestra Rwoh gave some of the better delivery. She sounded legit and like a real person in her position.
Who touches foresenic evidence?
Disney has disappointed Star Wars fans. Disney has changed, Light sabers, The Force and Storytelling(The heroes journey) in Star Wars.
" no May! I am your mother!!!" 🤣 Absolutely pathetic
I’ve heard what Meg is saying in addition to something else that kind of makes a part of the prequels less unique.
I don’t know. I feel like there is so much hate for this show because of the press around the director that people have made up their minds before they even watch it.
I guess we’ll see. I like the first two episodes.
Hey Meg, who else doesn’t enjoy this show? What’s the point of that? Hate sells, enjoy the cookies
