Much respect for this young lady. 12 weeks ago I had an above knee amputation due to the same disease. I am currently laying in a hospital bed recovering from a 2ed surgery needed to close my leg up and get rid of a bone infection that I now have. When I watch videos like this it give me hope that I can live a happy life once again.
I am leaving the hospital today after battling MRSA and almost losing my arm. This is NO JOKE. In 24 hours it went from a marble to a basketball... TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUTS NO MATTER HOW SMALL.
In 2017 I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance because a red line was going up my leg and when I got there the doctor rushed me to the surgery room or ‘theater’ they like to call it, I was diagnosed with flesh eating bacteria, pneumonia, strokes, tss, brain abscess, the list goes on..I was in shock for a week and my family were there for me especially my mom she stayed with me all night and all day because she was so worried, then I finally woke up and I saw my leg wrapped up and I had two ivs and a picline in my shoulder...i was very confused all I remembered was going to the hospital and waking up then. My mom told me what I was diagnosed with and what had happened and she told me that I had a 50-50% chance of dying and all of this started when I was 10 now I’m 12, anyways, I almost lost my leg but I didn’t because we got there in time and if another hour went by if I wasn’t there then the flesh eating bacteria would get to my organs and I would die, but luckily we got there in time and they got the bacteria out then all they had to do was get rid of everything else that I had, my mom told me that I couldn’t talk I was just fidididoisidkeneoss icuvhgwhqkdofiffjfjrjej everything she thought I was turning back into a baby lol but I’m just happy i wasn’t awake for everything else in that week, but then all I hated was the mornings because they had unwrap my leg and like clean it and put a new wrap on...I hated that..But then I started to get therapy when the doctor said that I was ready to learn to walk again, everyone was very nice and then after almost two months in the hospital I got to go home in a wheelchair and my stepdad got me a puppy which is named Riley! and the puppy helped me a lot, and then therapy people came over to my house and helped me with me walking again and my home nurse for the blood tests every week and other things, then I finally got the picline out (the ivs came out when I woke up because they hurted) the picline didn’t hurt coming out I didn’t even feel anything...then I took my first step without my walker in June and my mom was proud literally everyone was! And my doctor said I also had a 50-50% chance of not walking but guess what? I’m walking and running, jumping, cartwheels and riding my bike and hover boards. But my surgen was the best and my doctor was too. I met someone a few days ago who couldn’t walk because she has a disease and she was in a wheelchair for the rest of her life, and we kept relating on things like medical things lol, we laughed and we cried I was happy that I finally met someone who had something like me but different. So yeah...That’s my story..(there’s literally a lot more to the story I’m just too lazy to do type more lol)
Yea...when you think you have problems. There are people out there with REAL problems. Props to this girl for her positive outlook. No doubt there are probably some dark times for her but it definitely puts things into prospective.
Smart, goal orientated, pretty, and a badass, then she is worried about her relationship? I doubt her boyfriend even thought of leaving her. Kudos to her.
