Love his enthusiasm for the microbiology of the soil !
Harley Smith, the man who taught us how to spoon feed.
I been watching Harley for 8 years the 3 videos from 5 years back that are about 45 min are fantastic
I feel extremely fortunate to be following/tracking everything hes talking about. Organic farming foreva!
Outstanding guest, answered all the questions I never thought to ask and I am a biologist. AAA+
Harley claims to be one too on his linkedin. Don't think he ever set foot on a campus though.
I growed Durban Poison this year outdoor in Denver
My Soil was so good as a base and I added organic mushroom compost on the bottom of my holes and on top I used wild Buffalo dung I collected from the mountains while camping this year
The best crop I ever had this year
Mushrooms up every morning under my plants
The fungi were really helpful
The rain this year was awesome and I have the most tasty weed that is so good that I can’t recall any dispensers I ever been in Denver
All natural organic terpene rich beautiful gigantic yields
As a matter of fact on these land race sativa plants I tied over and giant colas grew so large I had to prop them up
All natural is the best way to go
Don't forget to top dress malted barley & worm castings. Happy Growing ✌️🌎
I have DP growing right now and I have found that using hydrogen peroxide at any time except the last two weeks of flower has been a life saver for my roots and then the plant!
You probably will never hear about this because it works wonders and it’s cheap as hell! Many of the plant foods that you buy online or wherever have hydrogen peroxide in them. You can use the ones you buy at the supermarket or online,
@@walterdoyle3861 you right Wife showed me
Would've Love to try some of that Durban Poison! It's one of my Favorite strains! Congratulations!
Got Bubbliicious LSD Black Widow Rubtz Gary Payton and 2 volunteers of Durban just came up from last years crop
I’m adding blood meal and fish egg shells organic and fish fertilizer organic this year

What an EXCELLENT TEACHER. 😍😍😍
Harley is the man probably the best plant scientist in the entire world I was one of Harley's top students I plan on going back to class if he still having them I know he moved back to Michigan. I'm probably going to to in a couple years too. I develop one of the greatest fertilizers there is because of Harley I was set to release it and my house burnt to the ground the night before then covid-19 and it's been the struggle
Hang in there. Thanks for the sub.
Oh wow sorry to hear that bro I'm from Ohio I would love to try out what you created
@@chrisrisner5501 I was born in Cleveland and grew up in chagrin Falls. I was just there a few days ago. I should have some of the products and fertilizer out this winter or spring for sure now I’ve got a bunch of materials to start making it again but I’m having a problem with a family practitioner went psycho on me and destroyed my cancer treatment plan so I’m trying to get a new doctor. I’m good I ain’t got cancer than 18 years but I do have to take prescriptions so he screwed everything up and I’m probably going to make a national ordeal out of it because it came down to, they gave me a test at the hospital that they know is broken and then when it produce the broken results that they knew it would be Produce they caused me a bunch of shit and I want the national news and the Congress to know about this to write a bill that they can’t do this to people because they’re basically torturing people it’s nuts. what they are trying to do is destroy peoples Medicare and bankrupt it. It seems we have a bunch of domestic terrorist in our country that hate this country The world is a crazy place.
Keep your head up and push on. Best of luck brother. You 'll make it where your going
See a therapist. So what

Harley Smith is awesome.
I can't believe I'm 25 years younger but been growing longer then Harley.
There’s not much difference in knowing how to do something and knowing how to do it well.

Love to feel the soul of the man. Good for the heart, thanks for sharing
Harley is a G. His enthusiasm is ultra infectious.
Nature has been doing this without our help for millions of years, and now we can harvest some of that power of nature in ways that we’ve never been able to do. We’ll be able to cut our fertilizers in half, increase quality and yield and protect the environment at the same time.
Horticulture is KING. This man's knowledge seems to be endless. I especially like that he emphasizes creating a growing environment that takes advantage of the plants natural tendencies. I wish I had found this master horticulturist at the beginning.
He's one of the best. Thanks for watching.
Thank you Harley for what you do. Amazing wisdom humbly given freely, we need more people like you in the world 🌎. Thank you 🙏
What a bomb ass episode, my hand is burning from these notes!
Imagine sitting in a forest with Harley for the weekend. That was amazing, i have to lay down for a while after that.

First of all thanks for this talk! Harley! Thank you very much for being this open! The sparkling in your eyes tells us, ure a true teacher!!! I defenetly wanna be and I gonna be your student! Peace from Spain!
None of us here are growing "hemp" lolz, harley is amazing though, and im always happy to hear him share his wisdom. I love growing cannabis almost as much as I like smoking it. If I can hire harley by web cam by the hour I'm totally doing it, if he writes a book I'm buying it and im for sure taking one of his classes
Some ppl do
Hemp and marijuana are both cannabis and are the same species - botanically, and in reality, its the same plant. There is little difference for the most part between most THC and CBD cultivars - except which compound is made. This is because there are very few genes controlling the difference between a plant producing THC or CBD.
Its the same plant, just different compounds that were selected for... The nutrients needed, the pests and diseases, the deficiencies that show up, etc, all are the same. Spider mites and powdery mildew does not discriminate!
You can read about hemp and know pot, and pot hemp. There is a lot of university research on hemp now, regarding pests and nutrients - all of that is just as applicable to any kush or glue.
Harley smith is the GOAT
Absolutely great video! This content is honestly exceptional.

Thanks for the kind words. Sending love back to you brother. Keep growing and b safe.
After listening to Bruce Bugbee and Jorge Cervantes it is that Harley Smith is the third name on my list for legendary cannabis-tutors. Greetings from Austria, and thank you for providing your hard earned knowledge.
He had me writing down notes, if only he was my teacher back in the day lol 😂😆
Thank you Harley. 🙏🇦🇺😎
So glad I found this. Added to favorites, thanks 👍

Chris, thanks brother. Stay posted.
@@louconsoli2288 any more vids bro?
Fred. We will have more coming. What content would you like to see?
I've only justs noticed how blue spec drives rootmas and stem thickness. Although ive taken it as gospel ive just observed how that is so personally. It's amazing to have something personally confirmed .it's an amazing sense of acomplishmebt. Althouh not every one sees acomplishmebt the same way. Like 'money or material posessions although they're ok but shouldn't be on same level as real acomplishments that you experience ones self.
Harley , made biochar as you showed, five foot broccoli, five pound radish. Problem though the town of Prescott Ontario removed two feet of my soil . Can you get involved?
This science works thanks to the platform and you science guys.
For the organic growers out there wanting to treat their root zone, you can sprout some random (organic) seeds until half an inch of root comes out then grind that up into a slurry for the enzyme boost. Then make a light tea from kelp meal and add teaspoon of fluvic acid to it to water the next watering after the sprouted seed slurry.
This is extra beneficial if you already use mycorrhizal inoculant.
Hmm I don't even know what to say. What a weird approach. Not saying it doesn't work, but why and what do you consider is trading the root zone? Out of all the stuff to do... Why is this important? Seems like more effort than necessary but I am sure there is a logical reason.
*treating, f u spell correct
@@theinfjgoyim5508 Growing organically creates a matting of 'feeder' roots that grow near the surface. The kelp/fluvic acid helps 'pre-digest' anything being absorbed by the root, lessening the work it needs to do. My stepfather was a horticulturist trained at Penn State, and he did this for decades and swore by it.
Most grateful to listen to Harley who has zeroed in on the science and invested a lot of education in the plant ..learned a lot about the details of "uptake" "root growth"..and the most important guide to plant health and P.M. resistance.
Harley is real science made easy.
And sorry...not bro science..
Roji. What a wonderful wealth of knowledge. I agree with you brother. Glad you enjoyed it. More vids coming shortly. Thanks for the sub and tuning in. B safe.
Awesome! Switched from hydroponics to making my own soil and fungus and bacteria because of this gentleman. Ty for all your knowledge and that fact that you pass it on to us new bee's!!
Thanks Christopher. Stay post for more content i. The near future. Thanks for the sub.

Hell of a show!
It is 99% genetics, the strain will always matter more than the method. You can take the best strains and throw them in a pile of dog shit outside and they will create amazing bud. If you some CBD strain with little no THC, well nothing is going to change that. In short the quality of the seed is by far the most significant factor, no contest. If someone tells you otherwise then they are lying to you.
You sound really smart
If only I could have ran across this comment years ago. It took the first 5 years of growing to understand that. I thought I was missing something in my technique.
Facts genetics are key
You say this, yet most of his experiments are from clones of the same strain trailed with different controls, aka real experiments, so saying it's 99% genetics is not true. He's giving guidelines to follow for the best optimal results for that dogpile stuff. And that dogpile stuff will not do as well as the stuff in a dispensory you are crazy sir
@@Deltaforce650 you don’t know what you’re talking about. Guy is 1,000% right. Shut up
Nice info thanks Harley Smith. Medically grown is the only way bringing out its genetic potential. I made some vids on how to with medical cannabis if anyone wants to learn more. Thx for the vid UNEEK!!
Thanks aussycc. Appreciate the sub. B safe.
I have a super potent strain that I named it Aurora # 4
It came from crossing top shelf strains. I grow outdoors and use my own seeds.
I get 70 :% female and it is a huge producer
Passion!!! I LOVE IT!!
I love learning of this guy his aproach is excellent .I'm not much of an of the shelf nutrient conoseue .I'm still on the natural processes not that he isn't .I can only learn from actual doing myself and anything else is just talk and there's too many that talk the th but don't walk the walk .this guy walks the walk .only thing I've found is that REPOTTING AT ESSENTIAL GRIWTH STAGES IS IMPERATIVE FOR GOOD PLANTS UNLESS GOUNF STRAIGHT INTO MASSIVE POTS. I've used nutrients as supplements and experimented with inducing deficiencies and 're correcting them. Anyway .love this guy.
thankyou so much this is food for the soul
Great video guys 👍 thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Thanks blaze. Thanks for the sub. Look forward to more great content shortly. We appreciate you.
This was awesome! I learned like 10 new things and it’s not even over yet!
Dammit this is awesome! Huge fan of Bruce Bugbee and now Harley! Those 2 guys are my go to for knowledge!
Thanks brother
@@louconsoli2288 no, thank you bro! These kinds of talks wouldn’t be possible back in the day.
I treasure the high value of info I’m getting. Always love hanging with PhD’s not that I’m smart enough but I get way smarter way faster, and at the end of the day I’m after a flavor I’ve had before and haven’t found for the last 5-10yrs.
And the more I spend time listening to guys like Harley or Bugbee or Kevin Jodry the more I find out that my flavonoid hunt is basically what everyone else is hunting for too.
Can’t wait to get fire cuts from someone who has an 80’s skunk. Lol cheers!
2020 is my first year!!!!!! still trying to dial everything in there is soooo much to it but thanks to these videos its been going pretty good thank you guys

@@jacobspranger1267 wow its been a long road , ive lost count of harvests, I got things down to a science pretty much. doing great and still think Harley has some of the best info out there
Good luck with your CBD farm man. I left my home of Florida to grow cannabis in Michigan. I've been growing 5 years with a 1yr horticulture cert. I've just started using this line and I'm excited. Harley is my new teacher, this guy is solid gold. A great way of telling the information. There is no lie in nature.
from SA...even my big Trees in 3000 an 4500l bags are dancing in the bags
I admire Harley Smith
Great guy. Thanks for the comment. B safe.
I took his classes at superior growers supply back in the golden days when we called em tomato’s
You know I've watched and still go back and watch over and over every video Harley Smith has made.
And one thing I can't find is, what is his ideal NPK ratio.
For the last 3 years I've been experimenting with just one NPK ratio through out the entire grow with very good results.
I've been running a 5 20 20 ratio for about 5 grows and it's performing very well.
I'm just wondering what he would think. And what he runs.
Thanks Mr. Smith for passing on all your knowledge.
Take care.....
There are many combos that work with nice results but dialing in the ratios can be slightly different for each cultivar. Your ratios will change through out the plants life during feedings. Stay posted in the future for vids on this subject. Thanks for the sub and b safe.
Harley Smith about them Brix! Get em Harley!
This was a good one, good questions, even though you knew the answer most of the time it helps beginners.
Thanks for the comment. Glad to have you as a sub. much more content coming soon. thanks again
Seen the dude thought he was growing longer then I try ought shit I’ve been doing it longer but still got good knowledge and good knowledge is good brainfood
Question: Are the nutrient needs of Indica vs Sativa dif at dif stages? I cannot find any information that say shows a comparison graph of the 'differences' each needs, there is no way they have identical fertilizer needs (macro & micro) because one came from the mountains the other near the equator etc, blah, blah... It would be helpful to know specifically for each...most growers I know don't mix Indica and Sativa plants in grow cycles. Great interview!
Harley is the man
thank you!!
This guy needs to be on the joe rogan podcast. More people need to know about him and his endless knowledge.
