First thrash comeback album I listen to in a looong time that doesn't fall victim of lifeless modern production. This one has lots of character. Cool! Way to go Atrophy!

Asylum is such a good album, has been on constant rotate after release. Comeback of the year, well, many years. Good thrash metal is hard to find nowadays, thanks Atrophy for filling the void !

After 34 years, Atrophy comes with their 3rd debut with vocalist Brian as the only original member remaining, while the former band mates formed "Scars of Atrophy" Brian uses the same name. Very surprising return to say the least!
I don't remember them from the last 34 years. I do know I like this. So maybe there's some to said about that.

Oh, didn't know that! I guess that explains why this sounds kinda like Atrophy, but not fully. Though even Brian doesn't sound the same...I checked Scars Of Atrophy as well, thinking maybe it had the rest of the members or would sound even closer to the real thing, but no! They only had ONE original member as well, the drummer! Plus SOA sounded even less like Atrophy!

Atrophy with no Doctor Chris is like Slayer without Kerry King. Not bad though. As someone who was there when they were coming up, yelling "Beer Bong" from the audience, my opinion is probably the most valid.
Ok after listening to this a little more, I am convinced that if Brian sang like this when the band originally formed, they would have been much bigger. He doesn't even sound like the same guy. Voice is literally great now. Is it a rumer that the record company wanted to replace Brian back in the day?
