It looks like the stop motion clips are made by Ray Harryhausen but it's not made by Ray Harryhausen. Although, the giant who kidnaps the Princess makes me think of the Cyclops from The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and speaking of which, this movie, Jack the Giant Killer, has been directed by the same movie director as The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and he is also the movie director of many 1950's sci fi movies including 20 Million Miles to Earth.

Yes, the effects were done by someone else, but there was legal action eventually over certain designs.

I thought it was Ray Harryhausen too

Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews actually covered this. This movie was pretty much a knock-off of The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. Produced by a company that actually passed it over when Ray came to them with the idea.

Fun fact: the name of the giant that kidnaps the Princess is "Cormoran"

This film has the strangest depiction of the Kraken I’ve ever seen. It’s got the tentacles but looks far more like a reptile than a cephalopod, with the head and tail of a serpent. It practically seems like they combined the two most iconic sea monsters, the sea serpent and the kraken into one monster for this film.

I wonder what the version of Jack the Giant Killer be like in GCI just to compare the original from the 60s just like the film makers did for Clash of the Titan.

CGI has its own wonderful charm and stop motion has it's own

Yes it's not Harryhausen. However, as a kid in the 70's, this was marvellously magical - there were other effects too, which weren't stop-motion. Still a favourite for being so fun. Today's audiences will not understand

Cheap knock-off of Harryhausen. Animation puppets are crap. Some of the animation's pretty good, some of the two-headed giant animation is so bad that it bounces all over the screen from frame to frame. And the sea monster! Yeesh.

Agreed… a knock off of some of the elements in the classic 7th voyage of Sinbad that had a good story line and animation, this on the other hand had neither and on the contrary was laughable!

Silly looking models, horrible animation! I know a little about stop motion having delved a little into it myself. I think I could have done better than this!
