Love the old stuff. My brother and I have a similar piston pump our dad had when we were kids we are trying to fix up to run, no video yet on it. So far got it apart, it sat for decades and inside the tank and piston area was filled with flakes of rusted metal which were interfering with the two check valves, next step is to put it back together.
Nice! I just picked 2 of these Myers pumps up the other day. The air valve on the side is actually called a snifter valve. It sucks a little air in and pumps it out the outlet. Back in the days of the old galvanized pressure tanks, the air in the top of the tank would dissipate over time and the tank would waterlog. The snifter keeps a small supply of air going to the tank so it won't waterlog.
@@candacecanamucio3505 Is your tank bare galvanized metal? A snifter valve can be purchased. It usually installs on a plug on the cylinder head pf the pump. Sometimes on the side like on this pump but it has to be on the suction side of the pump.
We had one in our basement for our water pump. Listened to that sound for years. My dad and I were always working on it with packing and gaskets.
Awesome!

Do it up! Videos are a must!

Thank you for that info!
I have a piston pump and a tank. No sign of an air compressor attachment on the tank. Do these tanks not need to be pressurized with piston pumps?

@@clockbuilderhg thanks for the info. I'll look tomorrow n see.
What inches is inlet and outlet? Is it powerful to use with a modern 'raingun' sprinkler?
In is 3/4 & out is standard garden hose. Depends on the volume and distance of water travel.
@@-OPPORTUNITYBARN- Thank you
I think you should start a channel called "All Things Vintage"...
I've thought about that.
