Issue is that people are not really self-aware, and would play Superman as they would play Homelander.
In Cyberpunk, that kind of thing works on a design-level. As player gets crazier and assaults random NPCs, they become the cyber-psycho.
But with Superman… you either make the game too restrictive or just allow some immersion- and logic-breaking gaming BS to happen

Honestly whenever a new Batman game comes out I’m ok with it being something new. Let a new studio have a crack making a Batman series with a new universe. I know Arkham left big shoes to fill especially since they’ll need a new Batman actor but there’s no reason to continue. The story wrapped up in Knight, Kevin is gone so replacing him won’t feel the same in this series and using AI would be just disrespectful.
This should work like a Dragon Ball Kakarot game and NOT like a GOW game

Rockysteady doing everything that Marvel Avengers should've did & struggled to do. Making sure the game ready, recalibration system, horde mode, incursions, top A1 villians & Super heroes, different enemy types, huge map that you can actually free roam in, targeted loot style farming, dlc ready, comicbook accurate skins etc. The people that think this game will fail like Marvel Avengers dont understand how it wasn't the live service that made them fail but the bugs, poor loot system, zero targeted loot farm system, no recalibration system, slow dlc, poor choice of playable heros added. Lack of A1 villains. Same enemy types. A map you couldnt free roam in & much more that made that game fail!

Make a Superman where enemies have all kryptonite base weapons. Those weapons will have different effects on him. Only way to make him seem weak.
Or have enemies using advanced weapons designed to fight super beings, like tech from Apocalypse or War World. Or, set the game on one of those worlds. Or have the game actually use Superman’s enemies. Some are more powerful than him. Brainiac, Metallo, Mongul, Doomsday, Darkseid and his army? Superman would have his hands full with an invasion like that alone.

Kryptonite isn't his only weakness either apparently he's vulnerable to intense electricity and magic and his heat vision can't penetrate lead so "elite" enemies can use shields or body with lead so it could be a mechanic where superman has to aim his beams at parts not covered in lead.
His x-ray vision can’t see through lead. (Because X-rays can’t move through lead) his heat vision can melt lead…
I have a strong feeling that Suicide Squad is a precursor to the Superman game. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, then Supes is the only JL member still alive, and it's up to him to reverse what Brainiac did. Superman: Save the Justice League.
I don’t remember the online part but Urban Chaos had a very meaty single player component (included “challenge maps” that also add new weapons in the campaign, long before the Arkham Games).

Anyone who remembers the leaked image of Superman when the Superman game was first rumored should know it looks exactly like Superman in the suicide squad game, so no intended Superman game in the first place checks out
I think people need to stop being delusional and accept that Rocksteady wanted to make Suicide Squad. They could just make a Superman game after Suicide Squad. If they do make a Superman game they need to bring back the voice actors from Superman: The Animated Series.

I just wish they did something special with the characters gameplay instead of just them using guns majority of the time, like King Shark focusing on brute strength and pure melee and Captain Boomerang using a wide variety of boomerangs.

The trouble with Superman is that he'd be an absolute pain to translate into a decent game. Him and The Flash will make you realize how difficult translating superheroes into video games is. This is why I don't think anyone really wants to try making a Superman game.
If they can do it in an open world game (Superman Returns) and a fighter (Injustice 1&2, multiversus) then it's not actually a problem
Its not as difficult as it might seem. And it can be done using traditional game design. People over just complicate it.
For one thing don’t use their “greatest feats” as the only barometer to make you feel like Superman or the Flash. The characters themselves don’t operate at that high level unless the story demands they are pushed to their breaking points.
Speaking of design both Superman and Flash’s abilities simply run on a meter.
Overuse of each character’s abilities will exhaust them and tire them out requiring them to recharge. In terms of the game design the player would simply use resource management. Something incredibly common in game design.
Superman’s invulnerability has its limits. While impervious to normal firearms or explosives, when it comes to advanced/alien technology, radiation, magic, electricity, sensory-overload, psychic attacks, etc. that levels the playing field for NPC enemies.
In fact the Invulnerability problem was solved two decades ago when shields were introduced along with health in FPS.
And of course, as the game progress you can obviously upgrade to improve your resistance to certain attacks for longer periods of time.
You also just up the challenge by introducing new enemy archetypes and attack variations.
So, anything in the realm of science-fiction/fantasy which the DC operates in basically levels the playing field for Superman and the Flash.
So, a game featuring those characters with their incredibly diverse rogues gallery and locations in the DC universe can make for compelling game experiences.
Bro someone made a Flash mod for GTA V a few years ago and it was amazing. Shouldn't be so hard to make a game.

Just make a Superman game. No justice league! No Superboy with barely any powers. Just make a SUPERMAN GAME that mimics BATMAN ARKHAM KNIGHT. Give us metropolis and acouple other cities with some rural areas and plenty of sky space to fly in. Give us good graphics, fun gameplay and a decent story. Why is that so difficult? NO PEOPLE WE CANT HAVE SUPERMAN“ DO EVERYTHING” and “GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD” without the graphics and fighting gameplay getting effected. Also if we absolutely need SUPERMAN to “ fly in space” we could just have a loading screen for that transition. Yes of course a fly out of the atmosphere situation would be waaaaaaaayyyyy better but I don’t think we’re there yet especially post Covid where all the game developers are lazy. Kwing an old Arkham RUclipsr use to know people inside the company and he has said they were working on a Superman prototype alongside Arkham Knight. They ended up using some of the tech for the Batmobile’s destruction features around Gotham.
Everyone is mad about Suicide Squad: KtJL but it makes perfect sense... James Gunn has already said that his DCU will all be connected with the same actors in films and animated/game voices. SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT...
The SS game opens the multiverse through Brainiac at the end of the game, clearing the path to have games of the DCU with those actors.

Rocksteady isn't the same company, a lot of the leads and the studio founder left. And based on how the quality of their work apparently plummeted on Suicide Squad the people that are calling the shots there are dense incompetent idiots that can't even emulate what the studio already did good in the past
Suicide Squad has been in development for 7 years. The Founders didn't leave until the end of 2022 and there is zero evidence supporting the claim that they lost an abnormal amount of employees. Based on the quality of work (from somebody that actually played) they're still just as talented as they were when they made Arkham City

They released a bunch of gameplays and trailers, there was a leak with even more gameplay and the entire story (which I didn't read, but it's out there and the people who read it didn't really like it mostly), the devs came on to talk about the game and everything we feared that was going to be in the game is confirmed to be (live service with passes and seasonal content, microtransactions, grindy gameplay, bullet sponge enemies, missions with endless enemy waves, etc), there was a closed preview for the gaming media and even IGN said the game wasn't good lol. What reason do we have to be hyped for this game, what did they show that actually looks better than the Arkham games? If you're hyped good for you, but it's undeniable that the game looks bad and it will probably be bad
If the game looked bad it wouldn't be the most pre-ordered game on Playstation store. All you're doing is repeating mostly debunked talking points from haters. Like how they always bring up IGN (which is being roasted for how awful the reviewer was) but never bring up that Game Informer and Games Radar said it was good. I’ve heard complaints for the last couple of YEARS about this game and I’m sick of it. You can be disappointed but now it seems like the Arkham verse is housing a bunch of man babies who think they’re professional game critics and act spoiled trashing on everything that had a lot of hard work put into it. This wasn’t exactly the game I thought I was getting, but it looks great. The story is very interesting and fresh. It’s not reusing any boring narratives we’ve heard of and they are updating it constantly so we know we’re gonna run into more crazy plots and content. Why can’t y’all just accept this game is not Batman and move on? Instead all these comments are complaining. If this was a Superman game I’d be BORED out of my mind since he’s such an overhyped character. I think the best thing this game has compared to Avengers is the time they had to actually make endgame content like re-roll system, horde mode, incursions etc. Avengers failed because no body was interested in waiting 6 months for more content to then be beat in less than a week because it was a recycled mission or a single new character with 3, 10 min missions they had no serious endgame content and no serious need to grind plus no body wants to grind the one and only raid that only worked half of the time! They also didn’t have much of a endgame grind for the first 1-2 years while this one is supposed to launch with a lot plus more compared to what Avengers had at the end of its life. Although I can see why people don’t like the game because of the bad taste left in their mouth from previous games that ultimately failed.
If they do it they gotta make flight like a jet simulator where there is roll,pitch and yaw

Thier first game was a multiplayer shooter, they included shooting section in the Arkham games, they were making a multiplayer game after finishing Arkham Knight and Arkham VR, then decided to turn the multiplayer game they were working on into Suicide Squad. It's quite obvious this is a genre of game they enjoy

A Superman game could be fun to play. Avengers was a good game to me too, I just think that since they added Spider-Man, Black Panther, Hawkeye,Winter Soldier, and Jane Frost they should add a “Stark Tech” suit for each of those characters. They gave it to Kate Bishop, she’s not even an Avenger in my book, she’s Hawkeye’s apprentice. So it makes sense to add those suits into the game.

I don't even know anyone that has played and if rocksteady went out of business tomorrow, no one would remember them for that. People would look at them as a studio that made the groundbreaking arkham franchise that revolutionized the super hero genre of games, and for their innovative free flow combat. So they went back to "their roots" and made a basic shooting game... fun...

Going back to their roots just means going back to where they started from to make this game, which so far based on actually paying attention and playing shows they're really good at the genre

That doesn't mean that they were good at their roots, they didn't really get traction as a studio until Arkham Asylum. I'm not saying they shouldn't have even done a shooter. They made a basic looter shooter. It overall hasn't even been received well. The gameplay is stale and repetitive. Many fans feel the same, I've done research. The arkham franchise is my favorite of all time, this is all I've been watching, reading, and thinking about the past couple years. This game is undoubtedly a disappointment to most, unless you haven't been "paying attention." Their first game being a shooter doesn't make this a good shooter and doesn't justify it being a shooter. They can do what they want, but when those sales come in, investors will think otherwise. Alienating a fanbase isn't a good thing. Live-service Looter-shooter sounds like rocksteady did go back to their roots... following trends instead of making them.

In my personal opinion If I could have any cancled game Id love for them to finish the Gotham by Gaslight game now that they have more technology to work with. I absolutely loved the movie and a game would only further the story of that world.

A superman game hasn’t ever really worked, the reason is bc superman’s abilities wouldn’t fit that well in a fun game, the reason the Arkham and spider-man games worked was bc they had a combat system that worked, however with super man there gonna have to limit him and alter his abilities
Superman is powerful but not invincible there's 85yrs of material and plenty of characters to match his power not to mention this new real engine 5 ...superman can have character progression too...devs need to use their imagination they could have the game start on earth and easily take the game to space and have superman travel to different planets..too many resources out here cant keep using the superman is too powerful excuse

Games that old typically get Remakes (see Resident Evil), but what actually trends are older games that were super popular that get brought back to the current day. Superman Returns was not popular critically or commercially. I know playstation can port older games through PS premium's stream feature but they would also have to work something out with Xbox since the game was cross platform.

There's literally absolutely fuckjng NO reason (zero! In fact) for Rocksteady to tease Lex Luthor and Starro in Arkham Knight only to do a fucking Suicide Squad in Metropolis. Suicide Squad that aren't even feel like their own characters and AREN'T defined by *their* gimmicks. King Shark doesn't swim and isn't shown to be particularly tanky, Harley Quinn has 0 clown/harleqinn thing about her , Deadshot definitely will miss and not once and Captain Boomerang is now Captain SMG with speed force bonus and boomerang somewhere as a "neat touch", they aren't Really different from each other, they all can scale buildings and distances (just with different animation,big deal) , use same exact guns. At least Arkham characters had excuse of being BatFamily members and/or gymnasts/peak humans in case of Joker and Harley Quinn and Catwoman (tho in her case it is actually beyond human, but at least it's something that already happened in source material ie Burton film) .
There's no reason why Harley Quinn looks like teenager from same exact studio that Made her into an attractive Adult Woman.
And of course there's absolutely no reason for Both founders of studio to just pack it up and leave.

People always use the excuse "he's too strong"but Kryptonite can be a status effect that chips away his health or armor and kryptonite isn't his only weakness apparently he's vulnerable to intense electricity and magic and his heat vision can't penetrate lead so "elite" enemies can use shields or body armor with lead so it could be a mechanic where he has to aim his beams at unarmored parts.
Wouldn’t you also have to come up with a way to make so you’re able to destroy the environment and not tank fps, not zone of the open world and make set arena for combat and somehow make the destruction not disappear for the immersion idk seems more work when you factor in the basic showing of Superman in media 🤷🏽♂️
@@flare8471 well Unrestricted and Megaton Rainfall seem to do ok at the destructable environments just slap super man as a character and change the enemies from Megaton Rainfall into enemies like lex luthor and black Adam or braniac minion's.
