I remember crying when I first read about the attack. Mostly because my 13 daughter and I are mad superhero movie fans and this just made so scared that such a happy experience for families could be destroyed. You don’t expect to be shot going to the movies.
Oh I wanted to add, Mr Neel, that I love how you voice changes as you describing things. Tone, pitch and speed all change from word to word, sentence to sentence, in such a fabulous way. Almost putting us in the theater. A fly on the wall following Holmes around.

I'd suggest starting small and binge watching horrors until you are completely desensitised to it, and gory ones too. As a horror queen, and a former criminology student. It definitely is fascinating. Criminals in America just go waaaaaaay too hard compared to the UK. 🤣🤣

I remember when this terrible massacre occurred over 10 years ago. I never knew the murderers full story until now. It fascinating and heartbreaking at the same time. As a mental health professional myself, I truly hope sick people like James get the help they need before they commit such a heinous crime.
It sounds like he gave the professionals multiple opportunities to stop him. These deaths could also weigh heavy on their consciences. He alone planned and pulled the trigger BUT he also sent in his 30 page death plan to his psychiatrist well in advance who did nothing to alert anyone to his state of mind. She had the opportunity to have him locked up but didn't
Well it usually goes like this.
They try to get help and nothing works.
It never works.
Then we get events like this.....
Hold on it took 2 minutes and 200 cops arrived but 45 cops couldn't take out 1 (uvalde) shooter

If just one person had been carrying, his end would've been a morgue instead of a prison cell & taxpayer funded vacation for the next 1,000+ years (he ended up getting 2,6xx years at least in prison & will die there) but he deserved a trip to the morgue.
I remember reading the reddit post about this, how heartbreaking and tragic what happened to the victims and how it all went down. The way it was written is so well done that I still think about the details she wrote even if I only read it once, many years back

I used to work at Cinemark and this is the reason why they don't let people with backpacks in at a lot of the locations. This stuff is tiresome to see sometimes

Our theater said like a sports backpack is okay and some small bags were allowed but the shooting is the exact reason. People sneak in food all the time, and sometimes people just bring in Chipotle right in front of everyone and bring it into the theater. That's what I experienced at least
It's ridiculous you can't even go and have a nice evening doing your thing without some domestic terrorist attacking, and mowing down as many innocent civilians they can in 30 seconds or less.
This is only in the USA, where guns have more rights than women, children and POC.

My mother was an ER nurse at the Parker Adventist Hospital at the time. The ERs in Aurora were getting so full that they had to start dispatching people to neighboring cities and towns for treatment. She said that the blood and gore that she saw that night was the most intense in her history of working in a hospital ER.
Respect to everyone who lost their lives last night and to those like my mother who saved countless more.

His eyes are one of the strangest things about them and I just can’t get over it. So dark and huge in those pictures. It’s satanic enough to give a grown man the chills. Unless he would tell us everthing he did from when he was first planning the massacre to the end of it, we may never know what exactly what he was thinking at the time.

Jack you never cease to amaze me!! A lot of America still remembers when that happened. But not to the scope and which you told the story. This guy was out to just commit bloody murder is best as he could. I didn't know about the booby trap he set them in the apartment building. It was bipolar all those years but nobody noticed this long as he was in a student up standing and an upstanding citizen.

Society as a whole failed him. Saddens my heart and soul for this young man. So sorry for his victims. They might have all still been alive had just one person helped him. He sought help in so many ways for so many years. Failed time and time again.

It's reasons like this is why I will not go to a theater especially when it's movies like this it has happened with the movie Scream, The Purge mostly horror films. Hell my public anxiety is so bad I have problems even going to the grocery store you just never know when your gonna be in the wrong place at the right time.

I'm of the mindset that I can't judge a person for wanting to end their lives, I haven't been the beneficiary of whatever brought them to that point. I've had some very bad moments in my life, I know how desperation goes.
However, I do believe a person has a right to choose whether they want to be here or not. The problem I have is if an person is really done with this place, then they can find a really tall cliff and step off, or find one of those thousands of dead mines that no one goes to, that will eventually be filled in anyway, and jump in.
Do NOT take others with you, they didn't ask to be your victim.
Do NOT make your exit from this Earth a traumatizing event for even more people than will already be devastated at your passing, whichever way you go. Like the ones who have to find you or clean up after you and deal with the aftermath.
But just remember, death is permanent. And people have no right to take anyone else with them. This guy killed everyone but himself.

I can hardly believe it's been that long that channels are picking up the story to recap for true crime. This case changed policy for so many theaters. I used to love seeing people dressed up for the midnight releases of films they were excited for but now a lot of theaters have strict rules about attire or outright ban costumes altogether.
