Honestly for us hardcore nerdcore fans we’ve known what Fabvl, Divide, DPS, GBJ, Cam, Breton, Connor, Shwabadi, and so on and so forth look like. A lot of these artists have their own reaction channels or make their songs live on twitch. Not to mention, have released songs showing their faces a long time ago.
@@itachispain4522 yeah I just always find it funny that for as hard as he goes on nerdcore artist showing their faces. Scru always misses when they show their face or acts like this is the first time when really it’s his first time and we’ve been trying to tell him.
Its not about the fans seeing the face. Fans can see their face whenever, theyre here to stay. The seeing the face thing that scrus been pushing for, is for the first time viewer. Anyone can sing over an amv, but it takes guts to actually put urself out there. And it shows that u take this seriously. Then theres also the emotion and easier to connect aspect.
The thing about the face reveal thing is that I remembered that nlj used to do a lot of his face while rapping over a green screened amv. So he is technically I think one of the first but I definitely think this mix between amv and face showing is a lot better. And appeases more people.
You’ve mentioned your love of nerdcore rappers showing their face and your love of cyphers, you should check out BassedOlaf’s “I’m Dead Cypher”. It’s got shwabadi, rustage, conor quest, frivolousshara and some more all doing a verse in person.
I honestly don't think the music gets better because they show their face. I've always been here for the music, not the video. I think it's good either way, but I do like the videos that show both their faces and the anime.
Most of us actually knew what they looked like long ago and they've found a way to convey their message perfectly even without showing their faces and that's one of the reasons we love nerdcore. Showing their face is there choice and we dont have to make seem like they can't convey their message to the fans without showing their face
How many times has Scru talked about the emotions Fabio conveys without seeing his face? It’s about the connection. It’s different when you have a face to match the voice.
My thing is if 1 of these artists wants to show their face in the AMV that's cool I'll support it regardless if I enjoy the music just don't try and make these artists feel weird for not doing what's considered "normal" music is an audio experience before ANYTHING there have been artists who don't show their face and still have huge impact (I didn't even know what the lead singer of Slipknot looked like until a year after I got into their music) the only real issue I had with these nerdcore artists was they would put curse words in the song and bleep it out that was kinda wild
You gotta stop the face thing my man we past it looooong ago 😂😂 it’s just not factual anymore we’ve been showing our faces in nearly all forms of media and if it’s not being recognised that definitely not our fault at this point haha, it also makes no difference IMO because the art from of AMV editing and creating a good piece of media is on equal ground
Exactly. I've been knowing what you, Josh, Fabvl, Rustage, DPS, Shwabadi, etc., since forever. Personally, I don't need to see a person's face to feel the emotion, the music speaks for itself. Especially Fabvl, I loved his music before he even made songs about anime, but people have different opinions and that's fine.
I don’t care particularly one way or the other but I’ll play devils advocate here. Screw comes from outside the nerd core scene. He often talks about how clearly some of the best RUclips music is made by nerdcore artists. But they don’t get the recognition or the views that the best music on RUclips deserves. One thing that can broaden the appeal of the videos is some kind of performance by the artist that anyone who is put off by the “Anime” portion of Anime Rap can connect to. And As a video editor, for the love of god get them some different footage to cut in. It really helps to diversify the look of the art.
word to scru for supporting the anime rap scene mehn for someone who's basically a big time yt rapper he's still showing love and care to the likes of rustage fabvl dz8 and more. like if we're to look at it from my perspective amongst my circle of of friends who like nerd core and me who's like a hardcore Eminem orJoyner fan I'm like the scrufacejean of that circle considering I show love to these anime rappers and don't call them chezzy I see the real value mehn. not many big time yt rappers pay attention to this stuff so you are doing a good thing man and I hope to see you on more anime rap features
Kinda annoys me how he isn't recognizing that other forms of artistic and emotional expression are a thing. Just because one can't appreciate the art behind the AMVs doesnt mean that showing their face is more expressive/impactful. Also there are plenty of artists in normal music that choose not to hide their face yet make powerful connections to their audience. At this point it just feels like he wants nerdcore to drift further and further away from being nerdcore and be more like mainstream music.
I 100% agree with this. People dont need to show their face in order for the emotion to hit, "under my skin" was one of the best songs emotionally. I like scru, but he wants nerdcore artists to be mainstream. And personally I dont want them to go mainstream, I like nerdcore for what it is
I disagree. I think Scru respects the nerdcore scene and wants it to be more respected by people. I mean I don't know, nerdcore can try and bridge the gap but still stay in its own lane. As long as people don't do things like show their faces and just make AMVs then it's always just gonna be relegated to its own little corner and it will never find a wider audience. Maybe you or the artists are okay with that, and if that's the case then I respect it, but it's just a matter of what you're trying to accomplish. If you wanna branch out then one of the things is to start inserting more of 'you' into the video. Because the videos are what gets the most attention, and as long as the videos just stay as 100% AMVs, people are gonna watch just for the anime and then leave. I mean just look at the difference in views vs the streams these songs get on, say, Spotify.
Then we must always remind Scru or any other people that might (unconsiously) drive out Nerdcore to Mainstream to respect the genre and differentiate the two.
@@ReJuvi u may not want them to become mainstream but it eventually has to happen so these artist can be recognized not just by the community of nerdcore but the entire world of music, so artists like Drake and so on would eventually listen to the possible next generation of big musical artist. They won't progress outside of RUclips if they don't. This is the career path that have chosen for themselves. It's what they love and desire to do. They've have already made the first steps by performing their nerdcore songs live, going on tours, releasing original songs on RUclips and via their albums. What they're doing now is going to be the very thing they look back on and say, "That was the stepping stone that molded me into what I am now as an artist." You can't seriously expect them to make music about anime for their entire career as an artist, do u? That, in my eyes, is selfish for their fans not to want them to become even greater than they are outside of nerdcore.
@@KallaTheYapper347 I'm fine with nerdcore becoming super popular, but nerdcore and mainstream are not the same and not everyone wants to show their face. Like I'm cool with nerdcore adapting something's from mainstream but nerdcore is it's on category and to say that it's becoming mainstream is not the correct term. And while showing your face is cool. It's not a defining factor. I listen to artist for the vocals and lyrics not to see how they look.
Fabvlmusic was on Crypt's RUclips Cypher 1 at 3:39 - 4:07 with a full facial. he had a solid verse on that too. Not sure why this is such a big deal that he's doing a face reveal?
There is an earlier track that Fabvl in the flesh can be seen, it’s the JT Music’s Fortnight song, as a bonus, we also see his and Divide’s acting as it is a live action Video like it’s the norm in the gaming side of nerdcore (The Stupendium, Cam Steady, Dan Bull, JT Music,…)
Bro the difference in Fabvl from that Inosuke Rap he did to like this one here. He puts his emotions and his thoughts and feelings into this song, and one thing I think is so interesting and unique about Fabvl is that he puts his heart and soul into making his music, and its like he transmits his emotions to us listeners through his music, not only do we hear the pain and emotions in his voice when he does something like that one part "Won't hold me back no I'm not scared to die!!" Part and once you hear the pain and emotions in his voice in these songs you feel it, like it peirces into your heart with the emotions. And thats one of many reasons why Fabvl is my #1 favorite Nerdcore artist. Because he mixes between references to animes and in real life shit that is so relatable and he always puts his heart and soul and passion into making these music, and the emotions in his voice. Man, that's why I love Fabvl's voice and his music he makes. Bro like it seems like the nerdcore artists makes better music than the rap artists in industry nowadays man. Also Divide Music is one of my Fabvl but I just love how Fabvl kinda mixes in between rap and rock in his music with his flow, his melody and his voice. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🔥🔥🔥
