freshy kanal is a youtube channel that makes rap battles with different characters like video game rap battles and of course epic rap battles of history themselves, yall are EPIC and yea what else do i do, cooking shows, behind the scenes of the rap battles, tutorials yada yada yada
sweeney todd is a fictional character who rap battles patrick bateman in patrick bateman vs sweeney todd first appeared as the villain of the penny dreadful serial the string of pearls. the original tale became a feature of 19th-century melodrama and london legend. a barber from fleet street, todd murders his customers with a straight razor sweeney todd and gives their corpses to mrs. lovett, his partner in crime, who bakes their flesh into meat pies. the tale has been retold many times since in various media.
claims that sweeney todd was a historical person are disputed strongly by scholars, although possible legendary prototypes exist and then freshy kanal came around.
patrick bateman is a fictional character created by novelist bret easton ellis. patrick bateman vs sweeney todd rap battle. he is the villain protagonist and narrator of ellis' 1991 novel american psycho and is portrayed by christian bale in the 2000 film adaptation. he is a wealthy and materialistic yuppie and wall street investment banker who, supposedly, leads a secret life as a serial killer. bateman has also briefly appeared in other ellis novels and their film and theatrical adaptations.

Are they any good?
Sir, they're too good, at least.
Agreed
Why does this have so few replies?
Stupes, answer me this: How did you manage to sing as Sweeney Todd with more emotion than Johnny Depp?

Common STUPENDIUM W
I don’t think there will ever be a better hypeman than Mrs. Lovett. When Sweeney started to fall apart at the realization of Lucy’s death, she immediately began picking up the slack and laid down some of the most ruthless bars I’ve ever heard. And then she sacrificed herself to bring Sweeney back on his feet. Phenomenal.
The guy who played Bateman killed the role, damn that was amazing.
That was my brother.

@@caitlinwilson6140 no way
@@Molliebdenitethey both have the same last name. It might be true.
A great way to start part 6. Gotta say I love the instrumental being more sinister on the second verse, his monotone, stiff, yet effective rapping turning into a more angry one.
Gosh, I didn't even know there's a sequel of American psycho before this video... probably the universe didn't want me to
Please don’t watch it. You will cry from how horrible it is.
"There's a hole in the world and a fake Brad Pitt."
That line made me laugh.
I’m trying to listen to the new Freshy Kanal tape, but there’s blood and flames everywhere.
Watching this as much possible before it gets demonitized because god damn this amazing
"...and look at that subtle all-white casting." 😅
Felix's Bateman impression is just his Wes impression with more confidence and insanity
At 1:32, you can hear Sweeney saying "what have I done?" after realising he killed his wife.
Anyone else listen on 2x speed?
AMAZING. The recreations of the movie's sets and aesthetics, incredible! And the way the raps fit the sonic styles of the source material.
Wednesday vs. Sayori: Girl students with opposite personalities and romantic struggles. Also both have dark stories
Better dissage: Sweeney Todd
Better delivery/themes: Patrick Bateman
Loser: the modern male adolescent
Loser: literally me
I just fucking love how intense it gets when bateman starts having a mental breakdown!!
I like how the battle goes through the whole story of both movies, even Patrick killing off Todd by shooting the furnace.
I love that the bullet seems to make the furnace explode, which is a reference to when Bateman made a Police Car explode after shooting it, much to his confusion.
the thing is Todd died to a kid from the sewer grates who i cant remember the name of killed Todd with his own knife he used to kill people
@@Saturn8382_ toby was his name
@@ncrranger6409 ahh thanks
Okay but let's hear Paul Allen's bars
You should do his bars since you play Paul Allen
Either way he's gonna end up with his f*cking face in newspapers!!
Paul Allen? Oh, I had him for dinner in London!
@@PootisSpencerHeeyah uh- I mean I had dinner with him in London, ay?
@@Thepluhmaster Hush now love, don't fret or whine, why don't you get inside?
Bateman's final verse is absolutely feral, a fantastic choice to use his mental-breakdown voice for it.
Very true
ikr
Agreed
I misread Batman and from a certain point of view that's kinda true
This battle killed it visually. I am out of words to compliment this battle at this point. Great job everyone on the Freshy Kanal team.
i am in complete agreement
Agreed!!
I don't like it or love it
I'm absolutely obsessed with it
Patrick Bateman's monotone voice turning into one of wild anger is just so satisfyingly thrilling.
ong
The 'do you cut your own hair?'-part was so accurate, both the facial expression and voice, it's almost unsettling
Then just the "now I've gotta return some videotapes"
this is why flecks is one of the best vas in the community, i guess you could say his voice is really ''flecksable''
Especially the part with "stupid fucking bastard. You didn't get very far". Sounds sooooo much how Bateman thinks in the novel when he suddenly gets angry or mean, it sounded like it was ripped straight from the novel
I think the voice actor for Patrick Bateman did an amazing job. The monotone tone and small little things in his voice (like the facial routine line) really sounded like the OG Patrick.
I also liked the actor too. The part where he started getting angry but cut it off with a forced smile was pretty neat.
That was also my favorite part of his Patrick Bateman impression 1:27 so legit!
It was Littleflecks who did it
@@lordjr7050 thanks for the info!
like, when he says ''stupid fucking bastard'' he acts exactly like patrick bateman when he tells the girl at the club that shes going to stab her
it was "the stupendium" they have their own channel on RUclips, they also make great songs
The instrumental change in Bateman's second verse is godly. Much more menacing than in the original track.
I even like the instrumental change in Todd's 2nd with Lovett too
@@CBionic77 Lovett was amazing, no one talks about that

I’m trying to listen to the new Freshy Kanal tape, but it’s so fire, my house burned down

@KCToons☆ It gets him another worker
thats a skill issue
Damn, didn’t expect to see Stupendium dubbing on the mic, and using lovette as sweeny’s partner was something I wasn’t expecting, and the infighting at the end of his verse was well put together!
That's not Stupendium who's acting as Sweeney Todd.
Stupendium only did the voice-work.
Edit: The op corrected thier comment.

@@geoDB. I meant for this battle but it was all a joke. Freshy has had a fair amount of black actors.
So as a fan of the American Psycho film I do have to note how great the "either way you'll end up with your fuckin' face in newspapers" line is, referring to:
A. newspaper stageshow reviews
B. News stories on serial killers
C. newspaper obituaries
D. the bit where Bateman lays newspapers down on his floor and kills Paul Allen with an axe
full disclosure I've not seen Sweeney Todd (the musical or the film) or read the American Psycho novel so chances are there's even more layers to the line I'm missing
What a brilliant analysis! 👏 👏👏
(I, too, am an American Psycho fan as well.) 😁😁
Also the claim that if they were to fight, Bateman would have killed him and he would have ended up in newspapers as the victim
@@giogio4222 That’s C.
@@2ac4_87ack Oh alright thanks
@@giogio4222 No problem.
I love how Sweeney Todd takes a moment from the rap battle to just flat out *murder* Mrs. Lovett after realizing that she knew Lucy was alive, but didn't tell him, leading to him slicing open Lucy's neck since he thought it was some random person. All because she didn't want him to go back to Lucy, and she thought she could get away with admitting it after Lucy was dead.
You can also hear Sweeney say “what have I done” at the end of Batemans first verse
thanks for explaining the plot of sweeney todd to us
@@hotelroom404my idiot self thought he said “Who wouldn’t want a gun?”

In the album, hearing Bateman describing the Sweeney Todd book like he does the dude’s business card I felt like it should have been in the beginning of the battle (since that line is in the beginning of the movie) but seeing the battle I now get that it’s a great transition into the crazy Bateman part

I’m in tech right now for Sweeney Todd as Mrs. Lovett and I absolutely lost it at “you hate women and the homeless? We’re the same” 🤣🤣🤣
I just realized Sweeney’s second verse features him mentioning Patrick’s lawyer, and Patrick’s second verse references the call he makes to his lawyer in American Psycho
As someone who had a huge crush on early-2000’s Christian Bale, the guy you got to play Bateman is one of the best rap battle castings ever. Idk if it’s just the acting, camer angles or just his face (combination of all 3 most likely), but that looks EXACTLY like him.
Finally a rap battle with Patrick Bateman , I even thought it was strange that no channel did it
Cuse he is a weirdo
I mean it's kind of difficult to make a monotone character rhythmic, but they found a way

Better flow: Sweeney Todd
Better disses: Patrick Bateman
Overall winner: Video tapes.
Okay but let’s hear Paul Allen’s bars
Overall Losers: Paul Allen & Mrs. Lovett
That was fast.
The visuals here are on par with ERB, and now that it's happened, I can say it took long enough. An amazing battle, that's profoundly unique. I'm not just saying that for the reference, either, this really feels like something of its own, and it's really, really good.
And here I thought listening to the audio so many times would ruin the experience of watching the actual battle. This was way better than I thought it would be.
Dude Bateman's body actor is so good in this.
He gives off Christian Bale energy so much, especially when he smiles wow
Quite possibly your best battle yet

I looked for a Patrick Bateman rap battle weeks ago, just to see if someone made it. Now I am impressed, and at the same time not. XD
Also, Patrick's Cosplay is awesome.
Oh good so I'm not the only one who was searching for a rap battle with Patrick Bateman on the internet . . . 😊😊😊
This was a great way to begin Part 6! Definitely loved the visuals and how there was a story based on both movies. Gonna give the win to Bateman, his lines stung harder.
Honestly this was sick. Love the casting, Sweeney Todd’s actor was great and I love the Bateman look-alike :)
you mean the... subtle all white casting
@@xebrax124 Lmao yeah
I freaking loved the beat change! You guys should definitely do this more often, added so much to the battle! 10/10
So close! But I’m giving it to Bateman! His final verse delivery was great!
Now, Let's See Paul Allen's Keyframes.
the first verse starting with the cadence and rhyme scheme of 'no place like london' ... the way sweeney holds up his blade at the end of the first verse just like when he says "at last ... my arm is complete again"!!! as a sweeney todd and american psycho fan, this is the greatest thing to ever happen to me
Patrick Batemans facial expressions were spot on
Best flow: Sweeny Todd
Best bars: Patrick Bateman
WINNER: Mrs. Lovett
"Now let's hear Paul Allen's bars." was my favorite line
Bateman's live actor did a wonderful job at replicating Bale's unique facial expressions
The year of epic Freshy Kanal rap battles has began. What a great first rap battle for the year
I love how Bateman’s tone in his second verse is more like that confession phone call scene, then ends with that shot
I love that they got a reference to the American Psycho stage play in there, with the "Let the stage see who's grater" line, and how when he says that you can see the blood splattering on glass in front of the camera, which is how they managed to use spraying blood on stage without hitting the audience during it's brief run in NewYork.
Loved how they mastered Patrick's monologuing in the movie.
1:30 I’ve never noticed this after a rewatch but sweeny todd saying look what have i done very quickly is a really nice attention to detail! Great stuff as always Freshly Kanal!
Who's next? simple
Jessica Rabbit VS Pauline... Both are great singers, both wear Red and wear it amazingly.
Hydrofluoric Acid effects on body
Littleflecks is just insanely talented I’m always impressed
also just realized he wrote the wes anderson edgar wright battle in addition to this one which makes a lot of sense he evidently is quite the cinephile
This came out really really well, i loved how much more intense it got, and the acting on Patrick Bateman was super fuckin good, same with Todd.
Freshly Kanal is to ERB what Honest Hearts is to Fallout: New Vegas. We didn’t know that we needed it, and not everyone knows about it, but it’s a very neat companion to and extension of something great.
Not sure Patrick Bateman's in a position to criticize Sweeney Todd for "subtle all white casting" 😆
Request for the next Rap Battle:
Rodrick Heffley vs. Scott Pilgrim
Also nice Wimpy Kid reference 2:13
You should totally do Wednesday Addams vs M3GAN that would be absolutely perfect :D
That's.... I am speechless. This is ERB level. You are not to be overlooked out sir.
This was a great banger to start off 2023 with! Every part was good, but I can’t stop rewatching Bateman’s second verse in particular, it’s just so intense.
Anya Forger vs Peppa Pig
Denji vs Phil Swift
Bocchi vs Dwayne Johnson
Toby Fox vs Terry Fox
Tarrare vs Nickado Avocado
There already doing denji vs Ash Williams
Todd won because he constantly dissed Patrick while Patrick spent to much time using word play. If Todd had more time in his second verse and Mrs. Lovett didn't appear, then Todd would have absolutely destroy Patrick.
Honestly thought this was going to be the Halloween special, either way, This battle slapped!
Who won?:Patrick Bateman
Who’s Next?:Knuckles vs Undyne (or Paul Bunyan Vs Johnny Appleseed)
wow this is really high quality rapbattles its almost better than erb honestly also i never tought i would be this early

What's wrong with it
😂 tapped it and it was the exact part i was on
This is practically Stupes second Channel at this Point.
if only i had a nickel for every time a rap battle features someone from a series/novel with the word "psycho" in its name, and the winner is an axe wielding maniac. Id then only have two nickels, which isnt a lot, but its surprising it happened twice.
Patrick Bateman Won, Epic Bars
that was amazing, patrick bateman actor was on point!
00:42 Bateman looks like Jordan Peterson here
I swear to god, this is such an earworm, every time I see it in my rexommended I listen at least 5 times, it's such a banger and the characters are played beautifully. You really outdid yourselves this time Freshy Kanal, well done!
Bro Bateman saying "Dorsia" is burned in my brain forever (in a good way)
This is probably your most cinematic battle in terms of visuals and Patrick Bateman’s actor in the video killed it!
I do like this battle a lot, but personally I am actually not a fan of the video. I feel like it's too much standing/sitting around rapping towards the other. The furnace pieces are good, and I also appreciate the visuals more for Lovetts' part. But having them not move much (also disregarding bateman's wacky last verse) just puts the video below others like Robin Hood vs Guy Fawkes for me. Also, love to see Stupes again. I'm a huge Stupendium fan.
This is some really constructive criticism! Thanks for the input, we'll try and have the live action battles be less static in the future, and incorporate some more interesting set pieces
@@little_flecks Thanks for the reply! It was completely unexpected for this to even be seen. The live action battles are my favourites to watch and I can't wait for more!

The actor for Patrick is really good
i looked at the credits before i watched the video and i saw
Pual Allen: Little Flecks
so when Patrick said:

i thought he was gonna start rapping.😂
I refuse to believe that the guy who did Jack and the beanstalk and Scoot from the muppets did that fantastic of a Bateman
god this was good... I wanna see more of George in body acting, he killed it. I was expecting to this be live but i was expecting it to be done more in the way of Robin vs Guy where the Body and Voice actor is the same. Though i prefer this, even though seeing a clean shavin' Lawless Marshall just feels weird.
Batman won but Jack Sparrow did pretty good

This is so good!!! This just made me want to be in a freshly kanal rap battle even more!
"subtle all white casting"
I love how Bateman's actor has very good rhythm when calm, but when he loses it in his second verse it's not as rhythmic and you can feel how frantic and unhinged he is. (I've seen a lot of people say this, but it needs to be said multiple times)
