@@leza8344 well it depends on your dinos stats and also rates because when I used to play on high rates my trex destroyed the gamma in a instant like as soon as I got to fight it was already over but use megatherium
the problem you'll run into with the spinos vs the broodmother is they rarely will use the bipedal swipe unmounted as their combat AI is not the best. most of their attacks will be the quadrupedal *BITE* attack. The reason of this I think is the attack used is almost entirely based on the size of the thing it's attacking(and a lot of the time they'll aggro on the smaller spiders), so you'll really need the max number, and even then, the water is just a few small puddles, and they will lose their buff frequently as well. If you're playing solo, save yourself the hassle, and just take 8-12 megatherium and a yutyrannous . they don't even really need the saddles, but even with the basic primitive saddles you can craft, you shouldn't even lose one of them until you do the alpha broodmother. you'll probably lose 3 or 4 of them in that fight but you should still win it pretty handily. Now if wildcard would do the cool thing and add a attack toggle wistle, that'd be helpful.

Theris are my personal favorite due to their use outside the boss arena aswell as their great mobility also they only take 1 roar from yuto to get the buff which is indeed an extra!
So since the Dragon provides the most Element, a team of Therizinosaurs would be best, especially since that one's the most difficult. I'd rather not breed three separate teams in singleplayer...
If you own genesis you can bring some magmasaurs to tank the dragon since they don’t take fire damage and ride a Deinonychus for the bleed, that surprisingly works about bosses, in alpha dragon the bleed dealt 6k+ per tick, you can also just bring mostly theris and just one or two Deinonychus

You can use rexes for the first two bosses easily, but for the alpha dragon and overseer, it does become harder to use rexes, you can still use rexes for the alpha dragon if you have good saddles on them, but the risks arise with the overseer, its hard to fit them in the tek cave and they cannot catch up with the fast moving overseer, all of syntacs rexes died in the fight against it. My advice is breed up a powerful army of theris and do all four bosses with them, the first two are easy and good theris will come out on top, the second two more or less require theris so you wont have to do any extra breeding. Theris are the best for bosses easily.
Yeah, that is exactly my point, if you are in official and you want a dino that can take down any boss, Therizinos are the best option, not all people have the time to breed 3 or 4 different species for a boss fight, but Therizinos are for sure good enough to take down the Brood Mother and the Megapithecus too. They have the plus of being easier to breed than carnivores, and also, they don't depend that much on having a buff like spino or megatherium, they are just good options for damage and maneuverability.

I feel like the Therizino got the short end of the stick for this comparison. IMO, they're the best all around for the Megapithicus, Dragon, and even the Overseer (Carchas for the cave part leading to the Overseer though). And that's just because you can stack the Daeodon healing with the Veggie Cake healing. Sure, they have less raw HP than a Rex, but this also doesn't take into account that with Therizino's you can get more overall DPS because more of them can actually get close enough to hit the bosses compared to the large-and-in-charge size and low maneuverability of Rexes. I wish that leveling the Power Harvesting on Therizino's would also buff their overall melee damage on their swipe attacks since it does let you harvest a lot more per tree/bush (as opposed to Delicate, which shouldn't have an effect IMO), but I can see why it doesn't. It would push the damage per hit of Therizino's past Rexes and towards being more comparable to a Giga/Carcha.
I would have considered the megalosaurus, at night he has 75 damage at 100% so 750 per bite if confronted to the other dinos; I don't know about the DPS but supposing that he attacks at the same speed of his rivals, but against the big monkey he could be the best option; his health is a little lower than of a rex, but damage is higher. Also, being smaller this means that more megalos can attack at the same time the boss
Very true, the Megalos are another good boss killer, especially on Aberration where you can't get Rexes. They would be good at taking down the Megapithecus if you're willing to do the boss fight at night only
Regular level kentros, ankys, bears and ravagers would have a hard time dealing with these bosses, especially on alpha mode or when back to back, due to their low amounts of health. There’s also a creature limit you can bring into the boss arenas so you wouldn’t be able to bring that much creatures in. I personally wouldn’t recommend using those creatures, but if you’re feeling lucky I guess you could try against the gamma bosses lmao.
Thanks! This really helped me a lot! But I don’t know what dino army I should use for the overseer. What do you think is the best dino for the overseer?
Hmmm probably a Rex army, since overall they have the best resistance against the Overseer. You could watch some other RUclips videos of the Overseer boss fight if you like.
Me b like wait a minute u dont need to tame thousands of turtles so the boss agro them and u kill with rpg when u can get rex therizinosaurus spino giga to do the work for u
Do you think 1 yuti with asc saddle, alot of mutaded megatheriums with decent saddles and maybe a few mutaded Spinos that I have around could work against Alpha Broodmother? (Playing singleplayer btw so bosses are weaker I think). I could also throw in a Daedon in the mix if needed since I have a 100 armour ascendant saddle bp.
My tribe killed the Alpha Broodmother with 18 tamed lvl 100-145 rexes, a low level yuty, and a tamed lvl 145 daeodon on official server rates. Only lost 4 rexes.
Idk man. My highest level megatherium tanked a wyvern for me while i tried to knock it out(in vain). And he managed to survive. They might not be the best. But theyre my favorite for mid game.
Not true. I've used my Spinos against most Ark bosses and have managed to not lose any of them. Any boss arena with a small puddle effectively makes Spinos a better choice than Rexes. Plus my Spino army just looks more unique than the THOUSANDS of copy and paste Rex armies on every server XD.
@@threespotgaming Source for those stats. No where I've read says those exact numbers. What have already been said though is that Spinos do more damage than Rexes. That plus any MasterCraft/Ascendant Spino Saddle Blueprint makes Spinos more tankier than Rexes. Nothing makes a Rex do more damage than a Spino though.
Its sort of like situational because carnivores take more damage to the dragon and megatheriums do more damage to the broodmother so its really like what does the most damage😂😂
Hey, can you tell me how you calculate DPS since I don't seem to understand it too much? Say a dino does 100 damage but it can only hit every 0.5 second Would that mean I would have to multiply the damage by 2 to obtain the dps?
Hitting every 0.5 seconds is pretty fast, that means it attacks twice every second, so the dps wold be, yes, 100x2 = 200. However don't get it mixed up as hitting 0.5 times each second, because that would mean that every attack takes 2 seconds to hit, so the dps would be 100x0.5=50. In my videos I calculate it as how many seconds it takes per attack, but another way is how many attacks are hit each second. Hope this helps!
Nah all the math is correct, I write down the attack speed different to how you write it for a gun’s speed for example. For a gun’s shooting speed you’d write how long it takes between each bullet to be fired. But with Ark creatures, since they don’t attack as fast as guns, I write how many times they attack each second, which might be different from what you’re use to. If you got the attack speed wrong and I can see how you thought I got the dps wrong, but don’t worry, it’s correct.
@@ZedFiles I'm just confused as DPS is damage per second. You times the 1.2 seconds on it which would not be DPS. The T-Rex example. 620 times 1.2 is the number you got but damage PER second which means you take that .2 times it by that number 620 and subtract it from the initial number
Wait you have to be mounted on the daeodon in order for it to work better? I thought they just healed without needing a rider? Also are these the top 4 boss fighting creatures? Do they basically outclass stuff like trike, stego, deinonychus, wolves, bears etc
It can do passive healing, but its just allows for better control when someone is riding it. These are the best 4 boss killers in the base game. Trikes, Stegos, etc, are way weaker. There are special cases though of better boss killers, like the Deinonychus and Velonasaur, which are very powerful but have limitations depending on your server settings and dlc access.
Stats? What do you mean? In this video I showed which creatures were best for which boss fights on The Island. If you wanna know what stats you need for your dinos in order to beat the bosses, it depends on which difficulty you're doing. Try to tame max level (150) dinos, and put a lot of levels into health and melee. Getting/ making good saddles from supply drops makes a big difference too. Also make sure they're mateboosted, and having the Yuty courage roar and Daedon healing helps. There should be some tutorial videos for each boss fight on RUclips that you can watch to see what stats you'll need to beat the bosses on Alpha difficulty.
Yeah that will be more than enough for the Gamma one. With good saddles and a bit more health you could take on the Beta and Alpha as well. Make sure to have a Yuty and Daeodon.
ok for the spider boss megatherium ,daeodon , yutyranuus, for the monkey bring spino, rex ,yutyrannus , daeodon , the dragon bring theri, if your going to bring carnivores make sure they have enough movement speed to avoid the fire ball attacks until it lands . daeodon, yutyrannus ,
I think that’s just because this video is around a year old, maybe a patch/update since then changed it from x.3 to x.1. Also that difference is extremely tiny so it shouldn’t really impact the comparison much.
@@ZedFiles nope, it's a setting in single player, it's been like that for more then 4 years now, it also hints that the melee damage may be off compared to official settings and other stat scaling may be off compared to official settings
Oh right, yeah I am aware of the single player setting that I have turned on. However the changes of the single player setting affect both creatures of the comparison equally, so it doesn’t make the comparison unfair.
This math is all wrong. If a Rex does 620 damage and the speed attack is 0.8 seconds (that means it is attacking faster than every second), then the Rex is doing 744 DPS. If a Spino does 603 damage every 1.3 seconds, then the DPS will be less than 603, actually 423, not the 783 listed here.
Nah the math is correct. The attack speed is measured as times attacked in one second, not how long it takes for each attack to go through. That’s why its for example: 1.2/s (1.2 attacks every second) not Every 1.2 seconds. Try redoing your calculations again and it’ll be correct. A couple other people were confused about this too, you can find their comments and how their math was wrong if you scroll around.
ZedFiles oh ok. In that case yes, your calculations are correct. That is very confusing though. You would have to know that attack speed means 1.2 attacks per second vs. an attack every 1.2 seconds. Thanks for the correction.
Yeah the way I do it can be pretty confusing, but as long as the answer is correct it doesn't matter how you do it. In my Attack test I write 1.2/sec, "/" meaning per. For example, 12km/h means 12 km per hour. If I were to write it as an attack every 1.2 seconds, I would write 1.2secs, which just means 1.2 seconds.
I used trike of kraken better dino to defeat gamma island boss , wasn't easy but it was achievements. By the way trike are BUFFED in better Dino as it should be
Oof on my server the alpha center boss is the island Brood and the island megapithecus but with 2.5 resistance. I dont know if theris with 21k health and 800% with 130 saddles are enough.
Ohhhh right lmao. If you went through all the effort of breeding them for the boss fight then I’d say go for it and see what happens. If you want to be careful maybe bring a Rex and Spino army, and a couple Megatheriums for the Broodmother.
the numbers are a bit of a lie... kinda. the manuvering of the theriz makes the dmg more consistent and tends to win out in all fights in the long term.
Exactly. I've used Theri's for all the bosses of the island (except for the broodmother, then I use megatheriums) ever since the tek cave was added in Survival Evolved. Glad to see my meta for breeding melee and health super theris for the alpha overseer is still 100% viable in Survival Ascended.

I would prolly end up taking a few flyers.
The hard part is walking them through the cave to get to the overseer imo
I thought It was a online class🙄
Very detailed video, nice!
Glad it helped!
nice video man
Thanks!
On paper spino looks best
But spino disadvantage is that it moves alot
Which makes him change its stance where it would do very low damage
Very true
this really helped me thank you!
Glad it helped!
Your voice is really nice and soothing :)
Thanks!
Can you do this again after rex unmounted attack speed got buffed
How about you do it
Me b like wait a minute u dont need to tame thousands of turtles so the boss agro them and u kill with rpg when u can get rex therizinosaurus spino giga to do the work for u
Thanks dude. Really helpful
Happy I could help!
Loved the info, subbed and liked 👍
Do you think 1 yuti with asc saddle, alot of mutaded megatheriums with decent saddles and maybe a few mutaded Spinos that I have around could work against Alpha Broodmother? (Playing singleplayer btw so bosses are weaker I think). I could also throw in a Daedon in the mix if needed since I have a 100 armour ascendant saddle bp.
You destroy that spider
@Bruhmed You should be able to kill the Broodmother easily. You should definitely bring the Daedon too.
@@ZedFiles ok
My tribe killed the Alpha Broodmother with 18 tamed lvl 100-145 rexes, a low level yuty, and a tamed lvl 145 daeodon on official server rates. Only lost 4 rexes.
Idk man. My highest level megatherium tanked a wyvern for me while i tried to knock it out(in vain). And he managed to survive. They might not be the best. But theyre my favorite for mid game.
They are the easiest ones to tame if you have tamed honey bees.
Seeing the phlinger boss clips made me wanna like the video, so i did
Oh and syntac! May just sub
Hahaha yes Phlinger and Syntac are amazing. I use to watch them a lot.
you forgot overseer and rex has same attack speed as the spino has
(Mounted)
Deinonychus can be a good choice for early bosses because of their bleed but you have to use the cheese by riding a big dino or they’ll get demolished
nice video thanks I can tell that you worked hard on this good job
Thanks!
You see I agree with this but I have tech rexes so they just demolish everything, I still the the megatherium is better for broodmother
Dude I had no idea I had 3 of the 4 main boss killers tamed lol just need to start breeding I guess
Oh nice! Good luck with the breeding! Make sure that the creatures you set to breed were tamed at a high level so that the babies get high levels too
Do you know If i can Take a paraceratherium to a Boss Fight? Or is it to big Like bronto, giga etc
Mega + Therizino = MegaTherizino (meaning great scythe)
Ohhh interesting, I never knew Therizino meant scythe
Spino isn't recognized as a boss killer since Rex and theri is much better in long battles
Spino after some time will change it stance
Not true. I've used my Spinos against most Ark bosses and have managed to not lose any of them. Any boss arena with a small puddle effectively makes Spinos a better choice than Rexes. Plus my Spino army just looks more unique than the THOUSANDS of copy and paste Rex armies on every server XD.
@@azuredragon5464 but after sometimes they will change there stance
@@threespotgaming Haven't happen to me. They kept thier attack stance the entire fight.
@@azuredragon5464 Rexes have 168% more health than spino
The Spino deal 157% More damage than Rex
So Rex is slightly better than spino
@@threespotgaming Source for those stats. No where I've read says those exact numbers. What have already been said though is that Spinos do more damage than Rexes. That plus any MasterCraft/Ascendant Spino Saddle Blueprint makes Spinos more tankier than Rexes. Nothing makes a Rex do more damage than a Spino though.
Bro I already knew all this it I just found your channel and this video was still super entertaining and I found myself saying fuck it’s already over
Haha I’m glad you enjoyed!
@@ZedFiles and u reply to fans damn u goin places g
Aww thanks, you’re too nice
Spino is the best because of the water boost
Very interesting, i ahve been breeding spinosa nd megas on official 556. I think its the best compromise actually.
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Its sort of like situational because carnivores take more damage to the dragon and megatheriums do more damage to the broodmother so its really like what does the most damage😂😂
Yeah, each boss fight has its own best creature choice due to those factors.
Spino gang!!
Austin Stoner Wooo!
I see a fellow phlinger phoo fan
very well explained
Hey, can you tell me how you calculate DPS since I don't seem to understand it too much?
Say a dino does 100 damage but it can only hit every 0.5 second
Would that mean I would have to multiply the damage by 2 to obtain the dps?
Hitting every 0.5 seconds is pretty fast, that means it attacks twice every second, so the dps wold be, yes, 100x2 = 200. However don't get it mixed up as hitting 0.5 times each second, because that would mean that every attack takes 2 seconds to hit, so the dps would be 100x0.5=50. In my videos I calculate it as how many seconds it takes per attack, but another way is how many attacks are hit each second. Hope this helps!
Thanks
No problem!
Phlinger phoo fans like here
Yes Phlinger!! He was one of the RUclipsr who inspired me to start making Ark videos. What makes you mention him here?
Some dinos have a slower attack speed when unmounted? Can anyone confirm if this is still true in ASA
i rarely kill bosses but when i do i spend like 3 hours thinking if i should get a megatherium or a theri as i dont like using rex and spinos
That's fair. Use Megatheriums for the Broodmother and the Therizino for the others.
The DPS number is wrong. 620 per bite which is 1.2 seconds per bite. It doesn't make sense for the DPS to larger than the initial number.
As I said, its not every 1.2 seconds that the Rex attacks, the Rex attacks 1.2 times each second.
@@ZedFiles ah now I get it. Then yes you would be correct.
Nice! Glad you got it. It’s nice talking to someone about the math part of Creature Comparison.
The spino should get a buff
Wait you have to be mounted on the daeodon in order for it to work better? I thought they just healed without needing a rider?
Also are these the top 4 boss fighting creatures? Do they basically outclass stuff like trike, stego, deinonychus, wolves, bears etc
It can do passive healing, but its just allows for better control when someone is riding it. These are the best 4 boss killers in the base game. Trikes, Stegos, etc, are way weaker. There are special cases though of better boss killers, like the Deinonychus and Velonasaur, which are very powerful but have limitations depending on your server settings and dlc access.
wait, what ended up being the stats of the dino’s for the fights? did i miss it??
Can you use giga’s? Great vid btw
Nah unfortunately Gigas have too much weight to be taken into these boss fights, same with Brontos and a lot of other large creatures.
Me using an army of mamoths to tank the damage and rhinos to produce the damage against the dragon let’s see who this goes
Yooo that sounds interesting, how did it go?
Spino isn't a boss killer
Despite it's lower health, it's damage output is insane, making it an effective boss killer.
I only farm for the black Rex not the white 95 white and 5 black
I mean like 95 black and 5 white they look dead ass sick
Easy, the Shadowmane
My favorite is the therizinosaur and it has given me good results
Yeah Theris are great
What about spinos
They're good for the Broodmother fight as well as Megapithecus fight when mixed with Rexes, as covered in the video.
I want to fight the gamma megapithecus do you think that 20k health and 1000 dmg for a spino army is good for that fight. thanks if anyone answers.
Yeah that will be more than enough for the Gamma one. With good saddles and a bit more health you could take on the Beta and Alpha as well. Make sure to have a Yuty and Daeodon.
@@ZedFiles yeah thanks for the input!
ok for the spider boss megatherium ,daeodon , yutyranuus, for the monkey bring spino, rex ,yutyrannus , daeodon , the dragon bring theri, if your going to bring carnivores make sure they have enough movement speed to avoid the fire ball attacks until it lands . daeodon, yutyrannus ,
Yeah that's pretty much it
great video, wish you tested bears too.
Bears do decent damage but their health and resistance is horrible to go against boss fights, especially the alpha bosses back to back.
Need same review for ascended. waiting for you boss
Rexes are best
Your stats aren't official stats, a Rex at level 1 isn't 1100.3 almost no Dino ends in X.3 at level 1 on official, it ends in X.1
If I were to write it as an attack every 1.2 seconds, I would write 1.2secs, which just means 1.2 seconds.
megalosaurus
Wait rex attack faster than that
imgaine if spino got the same water buff but for lava as well
That would be cool for a Volcanic X-Spino
Good video
Hey zed I LOVE your videos they are very helpful and interesting but could you please put some energy into your commentary?
Yeah I’m still improving on my script reading skills, I’ve improved a bit since this video though
I'm a Allo fan so I'm just sitting here in silence
Hahaha rip
I used trike of kraken better dino to defeat gamma island boss , wasn't easy but it was achievements.
By the way trike are BUFFED in better Dino as it should be
Ooooo interesting! Fighting bosses with Trikes sounds epic
well now the winner is the thylo. an average thylo can kill a 450 alpha rex cause its bleed takes about 1.5k health per second xD
Except the bosses are immune to bleed damage, unfortunately.
spinosaurus vs tyrannosauru tamed wild sadlle 4 vs 4
Why When I look at dododex spino health's isn't the same as the video?
Maybe a recent update changed it
Oof on my server the alpha center boss is the island Brood and the island megapithecus but with 2.5 resistance. I dont know if theris with 21k health and 800% with 130 saddles are enough.
130 saddles? For 130 Theris??
@@ZedFiles 130 armor lol
Ohhhh right lmao. If you went through all the effort of breeding them for the boss fight then I’d say go for it and see what happens. If you want to be careful maybe bring a Rex and Spino army, and a couple Megatheriums for the Broodmother.
Imma say 2 things.
Deinonychus and giga in val bissfight
the numbers are a bit of a lie... kinda.
the manuvering of the theriz makes the dmg more consistent and tends to win out in all fights in the long term.
Exactly. I've used Theri's for all the bosses of the island (except for the broodmother, then I use megatheriums) ever since the tek cave was added in Survival Evolved. Glad to see my meta for breeding melee and health super theris for the alpha overseer is still 100% viable in Survival Ascended.
