I'm axing Haaland this season, will get Watkins and Isak instead as my strikers.
Yeah, I also probably. 15 million £ is definitely not worth it imo considering you can have Isak and Watkins for less money
@@matej9497 Watkins is 9, Isak will cost 7 (could be 8) at least which is 16-17.
Same I done a draft without Haaland before the price came out with Watkins and Isak in. I think the price makes it a nail in the coffin decision
@@patchh15no chance of Isak being so low he got from 7.5 to 8.4 at the end of the season with 21 goals and 4 assist. Newcastle without European Football will be massively favourable, I am going most likely for both Gordon and Isak.
Watkins should be £10m himself. Isak £9m. The Watkins price is the first obvious and worrying sign of under-pricing, lets hope they dont compound it by pricing those key midfielders too low.

Palmer is £10.5m so we ain’t got the free pick like last season. James at £5m could be a steal after his suspension, and KDH was insane in the championship at £6m

Harwood bellis will start every game if he’s fit from a Southampton season ticket holder
Went without haaland for most of last season and had one of my highest finishes in the last 5 years, it's a lot more fun going against him and did actually benefit me in the long run
When you consider Haaland is £15m, and you can get both Mateta and Toney for £15m, makes me think that could be a better option? 🤔
A good pricing structure will hopefully eradicate a common 'template' team being adopted by the vast majority.
I think this Season more than any other a monthly 'differential' punt on a selection of inform players could be key to getting ahead of any template teams........maybe.
Good timing as the Cups are dying down, hopefully the drip is short and they just let us start tinkering with our GW1 lineup already…

@@josephkawak362 not as it stands tbh, goals are shared around the squad quite a lot, does depend on Adam Armstrong’s price though.

It’ll be interesting to see everyone’s team at the start considering prices are this high
About £65m for just Haaland, Salah, Watkins, Foden, Palmer and Saka.
Harwood-Bellis, Aït-Nouri, Pereira and Davis will probably be highly owned as enablers.
I’m 100% no Haaland, if Bernardo and De Bruyne leave (or just one of them) than Julian will be a great option again for half the price of Erling, that £7-8m you save can prove to be a huge advantage.

I'm happy with all those prices and I also think that generally pricing is too cheap. The key to them getting this right is Saka, Palmer, Foden all being £10m+, so its impossible to have all of them with Haaland. Hopefully we see a bit more team variety and an increase in the difficulty level this season.
They've nailed the Palmer price at £10.5m. Very encouraging signs.

Out of all the prices revealed so far think Toney is the player that’s become most nailed for me.. he will get back in his best form and score 15-20 goals, wherever he ends up playing

Was hoping for Haaland @ 16m, but I'll take 15.
FPL look at this really wrong... The way to reduce Haalands ownership is not by pumping up his price, BUT by making the other players more expensive... Simple economic rules.... Really childish view from FPL. If other players are so cheap, people will own Haalnd even if he is 20m. They will find th way. BUT if you make Havertz MArtineli Diaz Palmer NKuku Son etc much more expensive, then there is a decision to make.
Surely if other player are more expensive. Then everyone would go Haaland as the other prices are absolutely awful. Wrong take here. Only option would be to make Haaland more expensjve

I agree with this, but maybe FPL are hoping that having Haaland will cripple your team compared to a more balanced team.
Reason I disagree with this personally is that goals and bonus points are the most important thing across all positions, apart from goalkeeper - clean sheets for them & defenders important too.
But clean sheets are much rarer than goals; why you often used to see teams full of fullbacks when attacking fullbacks were a thing, so you'd have to make sure the next 4 best goalscorers won't fit with Haaland

Hey Andy, how about running a with, and without, Haaland squad next season?
$15m is 15% of the budget. Could a 'Big in Midfield' squad, with some nailed on penalty takers as Captain options give a higher score than a Haaland based squad?
There certainly could be more flexibility to chop and change the squad and chase the form players, but who........
I did this last season..won my mini league with haaland 3rd with the team without him..was 2nd for ages but the last few gameweeks killed me

@@JakobusVdL 48 in end but was closer before he smashed a few in..I was a lot more relaxed about the 2nd team all season

As soon as I got rid of Haaland last season, I started doing far better. The more people that own a player, the less valuable the points they earn are. At 15mil that might make him inadvertently the least valuable player to choose (assuming his pick rate stays high).

Ipswich were much better defensively than those numbers let on imo, could get clean sheets in a lot of games despite the jump I’d say (WBA fan)
For context, they had the 4th highest clean sheets and only gave away 3 penalties all year. They also scored 2 goals per match which they won’t be doing next year, so they’ll be even more defence minded this year. I think they have a chance to stay up from clean sheets alone.
They did underperform their xGA by 10, which basically means they let in goals they shouldn't have
this could be down for a few reasons
1. Very unlucky and their opponents were just very clinical
2. Crap Keeper
Maybe it's conformation bias because i want to Captain Salah against Ipswich but i think I'm going to target them still
Had 2 teams last season 1 without haaland which came 3rd in my mini league, i won it with the team i had him in

First pick for me. Another pre-season for Pep to tweak the formation and playstyle to get the best out of Haaland. A good rest over the summer while all the top Prem defenders and strikers are at the Euros and Copa America. Another year closer to his peak years. Fancy him to seriously smash it this season. Midfielders again will be cheap enough to afford that extra mill no problem.

I think I'm going no Haaland no Salah. Those were my initial thoughts.
As an Ipswich Town fan who is massively deluded and thinks we are going to be finish 12-15th. Hearing fans of other prem clubs completely dismissing it and saying Ipswich wont get any attacking returns makes me feel even more deluded🤣
We will concede alot of goals, but trust me we will be scoring alot aswell. We will be a neutrals favourite again next season

Until they come to their senses and redefine the wide 4-3-3 players (Salah, Son, Saka etc.) as forwards instead of midfielders, then the trend towards 'chalk' teams will get worse. The current variety of forwards is putrid and there are great midfielders that will never get picked because of their play style.
