How can a civilized human being who can empathise with any living creature, even think of slaughtering a poor living animal who can feel pain and even sorrow at the loss of near and dear ones...and that too to fill his tummy or satisfy his taste buds when plant derivatives are available.

Having milk and milk products means you are forcefully keeping the cows/ buffalos, and other animals constantly pregnant, now as a human being can you imagine woman or even a man to be made pregnant constantly, for it is a pain that only people who go through that can understand. Now a days we don't want to have a single child also. It is cruel to have such mentality with animals, who cannot speak for themselves.
Then the calf is immediatlely separated from the mother and left die, if itis a female, she is made to go through the same torture, if it is a male, it is sent to the slaughter house.
See movies like The Earhtlings, Forks and Knives and so many such movies / documentaries are there , which will make you cringe everytime you get tempted to harm any body.
In India, it is easy as well as not so easy to be a perfect vegan, first things are quite expensive, and not easily available everywhere. In the house, one can somehow manage but if are travelling we don't have the choice of vegan food, for in everything they have the habit of adding ghee, butter. People still look at you strangely if we ask for anything without dairy added in it.
I must agree that there are people who are die hard vegans in India and slowly the idea is sinking in, and as we see vegan options are easily available everywhere in Europe and other western countries, India too would come up with easy and affordable options.
There must be a reason, why there are vegetarians, non vegetarians and vegans, maybe the time has come to slowly evolve into better, healthy and ethical eating all over the world.

I agree that we should have only vegan food if practically possible. However the problems created for cows & calves if people have milk has been exaggerated as in our culture, cows and calves are in general well taken care of. If not, that's real sin.
However there's no comparison to being non vegetarian, which is criminal and against real sense of being "civilized" and cannot be condoned at all. Therefore whatever I have said earlier is the truth and nothing but the real truth...no compromise on this issue

@@vijaysarathyr4341 There are pictures where they have secretly videoed where cows are fit into machines for milking and often the cows are left in pain because the machines that milk them have not been switched off even when all the milk has been squeezed out. There has been evidence of their blood getting mixed into the milk, so many awful things are happening in the farms not only in India but abroad also.
The calfs are left to starve and die in severe winter, and many attrocities are done and recorded. we Indians only think because we consider our cows as our mother that nobody would be ill treating them, but that is not the truth.
People don't like to be told or are even willing to look at the videos, they prefer to just close their eyes to the problem.
When I am abroad I am so happy that I can be 100% vegan, but when I am in India which can easily be vegan I have to struggle.
Being a vegan here is really expensive though we have all the resourses to be one easily and make it affordable.

To sustain life non veg could be last option. but for tongue and taste it is totally Sin. you will definitely receive some heavy karm with that.! all scripture says that.

So you're saying that Muslims and Sanatan is only limited to Kitchen? Of course, We should avoid killing animals for taste but if we need for nutrition which is very less from Plants like Omega 3, B12 and quality protein, We can eat in balance.
