It won best drama series almost every year when it was out (always beat got), it has won 16 Emmys and has been nominate for 58 and has won another 136 wins and another 268 nominations and is the 3rd highest rated show on imbd which is the most respected reviewing program and it’s up against planet earth and planet earth ll and if you don’t think you like the first season just push through it because I’ve heard some people don’t like it (I loved it) and it’s a shorter season and then during season 2 except for a couple of episodes it’s pretty casual at the start but episode 8 of season 2 you will be on the edge of your seat it gets that good then continues to be good till the very last episode and the show has one of the best endings ever and if you look up “best shows of all time” it will always be in the top 5 and if that doesn’t get you to watch it then I tried my best but I would recommend everybody to give it ago. There was literally an ending to an episode I had to literally pause it and literally go for a walk around my house to process the crazy shit that happened. Trust me you will not regret it one but I promise you.

If I'm being completely honest, I'm not an American teenager , where I'm from this would make absolutely no sense to people since our culture is at an opposite end. But I stayed for MUSIC , MAKEUP AND THE CINEMATOGRAPHY.

Says so much on its own, even as I don't know the context of the story, I know exactly what it's trying to convey with this carousel shot (switching scenes on the second revolution is brilliant too; it wasn't just the carnival, it was the lockers, the mundanity of their bond everywhere, anywhere, at any time. This is what was literally behind that all along). Absolutely freaking brilliant and in total aid of the story (also holy shit, Zendaya's physical performance cannot be understated).

I just love the first scene at the halloween party: the music fades from Jules and Rue's scene at Jules' house and then we have music blasting at the party and Cassie just walking in there like a goddess.
When they kissed underwater though I immediately wondered if they took inspiration from the famous scene in "Skam" where two boys kiss underwater in season 3.
That scene isn’t originally from Skam tho, they did it in that show as an homage to the scene in the Romeo + Juliet Baz Luhrman movie that Even mentions is his favorite at the beginning of the season and Isak later watches, there’s actually a lot of references to that movie in that season of Skam, the church in the O Hellga Natt scene being another one and the music they sometimes use is straight out of the soundtrack of the movie, it’s pretty cool. In Euphoria Jules is dressed up as Juliet in that same movie, and I actually don’t remember if Rue is supposed to be dressed as Romeo, but they probably did it as a tribute too.

My favorite scene from the show is when rue is laying on the ground outside of the school and Jules comes running up behind her upside-down idk why but I just love it
