Let them be accursed (Galatians 1:8)

Paul hated the false gospel of salvation by works. He had a very low bar for what counted as works salvation. And when he found out some teachers were preaching works salvation to the Galatians, he was furious, and said, "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed" (Gal 1:8). But what does it mean to be accursed?

HI Isaac, I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints too. I believe Paul's message here was like a declaration of independence from the law of Moses to the Gentile Galatians, who were being targeted by Judiasers. Paul himself also talks about the importance of keeping God's commandments in Galatians. Jesus taught that we needed to be baptized and recieve the Holy Spirit to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, to "be born of water and of the Spirit." Mormons don't believe we save ourselves, but that only by the Grace of Jesus Christ we are saved. You have more in common with your friend than you realize. :)

Faith ALONE opens the gates, works are judged/rewarded at BEMA....no works = no rewards BUT YOU ARE STILL SAVED :) 1 Cor 3:13-15

That verse should've been applied to Mormonism because the prophet smith said that he came across an angel with a different gospel which makes the religion false!

The first thing Paul warns about false gospel's these people do and the rest of the world don't see this Bible verse with their eyes or heart discern people of God!!

But the angel didn't teach Joseph a false gospel. Joseph also saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, before seeing the angel.
