When you were looking at the alligator you were thinking how cool he was. When he was looking at you, he was thinking about how much he loves French food.

as thinking when she said "Hi!" She (the gator) was thinking "Hi! Come in! The water is great! (And I'm a bit peckish)" But of course they "tenderize' their food by stuffing whatever they kill under something, a sunken log or rocky area... whatever. Prior to eating... so not accurate, but anticipation of future hunger, anyway.

I'm glad you got to see a brass band playing on the street, and a parade with a jazz band and second-liners. These are things you don't see anywhere else. Also, it's great that you sampled some Cajun and Creole cuisine. New Orleans has some of the best food in the world.

Heavy cream was the bread pudding ingredient he couldn't think of. It's kind of like bread baked in creme anglaise. The most important ingredient in a good gumbo is roux brun, so all sorts of flavors from home for you in that meal.

Even sharing it would be too much, but yeah you gotta have it with food, OMG, it's SO much! Glad you have been having such a good time and great weather! Bonne journee! ~Be Blessed

I saw a video with about 50 raccoons coming out of the woods in a state park where people were feeding them all the time . Completely abnormal population for the area .
People feeding the gators at Disney World is what contributed to that tragedy .
You can tell people not to do it, but as Forrest Gump once said his mama told him " Stupid is as stupid does "
People show up every year in Yellowstone trying to get up close selfies with 2000 pound bison or harassing momma bears with cubs ... 🤦🏻‍♂️

The "spray range" sign for the lions made me laugh. When I was a child we were at the St. Louis (Missouri) zoo and a male lion came up and urinated against the front bars of the enclosure. A woman, dressed all in white, got completely drenched.
We never got very close and I was rather young at the time but enclosure must have been relatively small and still of the cage variety.
I don't remember anything else about visiting that zoo. 🙂

The park where I walk my dog has a pond in it. Often, I will see a gator in it. Sometimes they are as little as 2 feet, sometimes as large as 7 feet. They are so amazing to see in the wild. Sometimes they will just "stand" in the middle of the pond. They are very quick and very strong. Before they were so common, there used to be river otters. I prefer the otters.

    • @kingjellybean9795
      @kingjellybean9795 8 дней назад

The otters disappearance is more so due to the fur trade in the 17 and 1800s, the otters left after that probably fell prey to the gators

    Hey Bayou Marie 😀 🌅 🐊
Looks Wonderful Waking up by the River. The Gator was as curious as you are , he just wanted to know what's for Breakfast. Your taking your channel to new heights with some Super shots now you've using a drone. Those silver jumping 🐟 are something else but can be a nuisance for boaters growing up to 50 pounds , leaping over dams & taking plankton away from other Fish. They've been around Louisianan waters for over 30 years but what can you do , there here to stay.
The Zoo 🐯 was Fantastic , I like that they've tried there best to make it as natural for the Animals as possible. There was quite a diverse mix , I'm sure some of them are on the endangered list. It's funny how they've thrown in a Dinosaur theme ( your playful like a big kid) but it kinda makes sense , Gator's are prehistoric to. The rare big Cats are so Cool & the Lynx's are cute when there young. I'm glad you saw Wild Dogs , I know there among your favorites. Having an encounter with Orangutans would be something Special. I'm not that sure what was up that tree but he's taking it easy. It was remarkable getting up close to a white Alligator. I'm pleased you'll enjoyed it , it deserves 5 🐾 out of 5.
The French quarter where it's Happening they sure know how to jam & jive , loving the carnival 🎺💃 Vibe. The Bisque Gumbo looked 😋 with all the rich flavors hitting you at once. I thought you might already have had Bread pudding with it coming from Europe originally for the past 1000 years. It is kinda Christmassy , I see why it's popular , it's quick & easy to make. That was quite the 🍹 I'll be interesting as you continue to try new local dishes what your yummy takes are gonna be.
Driving along the longest 🌉 in your Cool Mustang looked like sheer Joy ( that's really a big lake) as the city began to light up.
Merci beaucoup for another great well edited Travel log , your friend doing great on keeping you informed about everything. With your Birthday coming up ( not sure if it's the 10 or 11 ) you can count on me to send a donation & a card. Take care Marie Praise be 🤗💟🏵️ ✌️

I'm glad to see you enjoying my city of NOLA. Fun fact, there used to be a bar across the st from that parking lot where you parked Uptown to go to La Madelaine where I worked as a bouncer in college. The Audubon Zoo is one of the best in the country, hopefully you got to visit the Aquarium and the National WW2 museum as well. Gumbo Shop was a great choice for what you ate. It's very common to have a second line w/ a jazz band after a wedding in the French Quarter, I've participated in a few myself. When I saw you film Tropical Isle, I was like, uh oh, is Marie going to try a Hand Grenade? It's one of our strongest drinks in town, lol. I actually grew up a few miles away from the Causeway Bridge in Metairie. The second bridge you crossed that is all lit up is the Crescent City Connection, and it was named by my little sister's class when she was in 5th grade as there was a contest to name it between all of the schools in town, and my little sis's class was the winner. I also hope you got to check out Frenchmen St which is next to the French Quarter, a lot of great places to hear live music.
Halloween is a great time to visit, we go all out, lol. I hope you got to see the Ghost Manor house Uptown which puts on a great Halloween light/music/animatronic show.

There’s two types of music marches in New Orleans a wedding and the funerary one. You can tell exactly which it is from the music they play. The funerary one also has photos of the person draped in black. A major funeral march happened through the French quarter several years ago, a high school student was gunned down and he was the quarterback of the team. The police caught the suspect really quickly but it really made his family and girlfriend suffer. Charity hospital as it was known back then did everything they could to save the young man, the battle was lost after 40 minutes of cpr. It was bad.
Hurricane Katrina got a funerary march as a way of saying goodbye to the old New Orleans to rebuild it a new.

You wearing those Cargo Pants is the coolest thing ever. You seem like someone's best friend when you are dressed like that.

Great video Marie. I need to give Louisiana and New Orleans another chance. When my parents, sisters and I stopped into New Orleans on our way to Florida, our car got broken into and some items were stolen. That was 55 years ago, but I remember how sad my sister was that they stole her brand-new tape player, "our only source of music at the time." My old coworker was Cajun and would make crawfish etouffee' and invite us over for a crab boil, I loved the food and the atmosphere.

I went to New Orleans for carnival in the 90s. Had a buddy who was the head of the Brazilian pavilion at the New Orleans jazz festival. He lived in a shotgun apartment with two strippers.. we went to the MOMs ball the mystical order of mischief. He gave me a drum and snuck me in with the Royal band. Best costume party gathering I've ever seen. Go back to New Orleans for Mardi gras.

Hopefully your host will take you someplace where you can open up that Mustang and you can experience what they were really made for.

Great video, in a great city,by a great French Creator, escorted around by a great tour guide.👌🎉 There are are many good imitation Cajun/Creole restaurants in Chicago. But, nothing compares to the food in New Orleans. I saw a baby albino alligator at the Audubon Zoo 36 years ago. That must be him all grown up now. If so ,he's looking great. That is a beautiful zoo. You did a good job showing some really beautiful and cool animals that you don't always see anywhere else. I'm glad to see the old trolleys on the way to the zoo are still operating.I hope the old mansions along St Charles didn't get wiped out by Katrina and are still standing. I'm glad you got the drone. It really adds a beautiful perspective to your videos. ❤
