So don’t apply for NHS and if so how could I find activities around my area?
when people say "don't apply to NHS" they're not saying National Honor Society is always a terrible waste of your time. it's just that you have to join it for the right reasons. if you join NHS thinking it will distinguish you from the thousands of kids applying, you're not going to be using it right. there are thousands of NHS chapters meaning there are tens of thousands of NHS members and thousands of NHS presidents/VPs/secretaries/treasurers.
but in your case if NHS is one of / the only resource for you to make meaningful impact on your community then do it! you can still make a good EC out of a common one and a common EC will still be better than none.
