    People that have figured out the name of the carrier have mistaken it for a different company based out of Tampa FL with a similar name (the shipping company in this video is NOT based out of Tampa) and have thrown it a bunch of bad reviews online. If you have done this please remove your review as "Naga Logistics" is NOT the company I had an issue with!

      3k fine for the driver if caught using a cell phone. Doesn't matter if it's texting or just holding it too your ear and speaking. Hands free only and must be only one button to Operate. On top of the 3k fine for the driver the company gets fined $1500.
      If the driver was on elogs and was short on time or behind schedule then it may explain his behavior. He may have been short on time and close to his mandatory days off.... Or he could just be a dick. Never know. Unfortunately with e logs drivers are expected to get the same amount of work done in a shorter time period now and it just isn't possible. Traffic, weather, breakdowns all can make a huge difference in delivery schedules

      William Mills can you give me advice.? My car is being delayed by more than 3 weeks.
      It was picked up on June 26th (about 3 days late than broker had told me) and terms were that driver would deliver car to me by July 10th at the latest. Route is 900 miles. He would have it parked at his parents ranch for few days. Broker said that driver needed those two weeks to get other cars on truck. I agreed to this, as finding driver was hassle for the broker (it took them two weeks and the doubling of initial price estimate to just find someone), thus I thought that would be my best chance.
      I called the driver right before the July 10th to check in with him. He told me that his truck broke down, and would take about 7-10 more days for repair. I asked him to send photo of the car. He sent me a photo day or two later, car being parked on s trailer. After those 10 days I called him again and now he told me that his neighbor had passed away and he would have to take another week.
      After another week he is telling me that it will take him another 10 days or so, as he has to pick up other cars, and he won’t be driving for just one car. He was supposed to call me today about delivery date estimate, but whenever he says he will call me back he never does, I have to call him again and wait for his another surprise.
      I’m frustrated, although have been patient and polite with him. I don’t know whether his truck really broke down and neighbor has really passed away or not, but I don’t have a good feeling about that.
      Do you suggest me calling a broker? What’s the best thing to do in my situation? I have a classic car being transported by him.

    • @n01928
      @n01928 6 лет назад +74

      Yup small claims is good for up to 10k (although it varies by state). Wheels refinished are ~1-2k tops. Trailer+fuel+time+forklift probably another 500-1k. Shipping couldn't have been more than 2k. Definitely enough wiggle room for other costs.

    as someone who is in the towing industry. i know the "i have to leave to get to another delivery but i will be back" is complete bullshit. once you are at the site of one delivery, you DO NOT leave until either delivery is confirmed or denied by the person its supposed to be going to. anything else is theft and will result in the driver being arrested for it.

      repoman is dead on correct. I used to work for what I called one of the country's largest hubs for roadside assistance calls and being a sup who would deal directly with service providers in or out of network all of them knew once they were on site with the owners car they had to drop it regardless or get approval to store it if the owner wasn't available or no way to drop it on site. Refusal not only meant a call to the local cops but also a cancellation to the the PO or CC and if you were out of network you also got blacklisted and never received a call from us again meaning that one little mistake caused you or your boss thousands of dollars in future calls.

      @@tripplefives1402 no you are wrong because you clearly didnt watch this video and have not spent 1 day in the transportation industry. there is not a driver out there that can refuse to deliver something as they do not own the cargo they are carrying. if they refuse to deliver it, its theft which can and will get the driver arrested for it. it is up to the person who is having the item shipped and the driver to communicate in where would be a good spot to make the delivery. this video goes to prove that the owner of the car did everything to try and make it work and then the driver said that he had another delivery somewhere else. then the driver cut off all communication and didnt come back.

      @@tripplefives1402 well then you are a bad truck driver and need to watch this video again and again until you actually see that the person who owned this car tried everything to try and help this driver unload the car by picking a big enough area for a front end loader to be able to get the car off the trailer, a winch if not in a big enough area and was more than willing to have some of his friends come and help unload if the driver had no way to unload it himself. this in this type of transport the driver of the truck committed theft of a motor vehicle (running or not) because he was at the spot for delievery and then refused to let the owner have it because he had somewhere else to be and did not answer the owner of the car when the onwer tried to contact him.

    Sam, you should attempt to file a claim with the carrier's motor truck cargo or liability insurance for the damage to your wheels. Even if you don't want to deal with the driver anymore, you should be able to obtain the necessary info from the broker who arranged the transport.
    If for some reason that the driver's insurance doesn't cover it, IAA's insurance should since you paid them for removing the car and it was damaged in the process.

    • @robertjaent6087
      @robertjaent6087 6 лет назад +21

      Good point brian5o. If the broker does not know it,, which they should, the DOT should as you have to show proof of insurance in order to operate in the states. IF you find out he does not have insurance, notify the DOT at once and they will pull that companies authority to operate.

      Robert Jaent I think the broker should definitely have the info. I actually work in insurance and have worked on-and-off with commercial insurance and usually before a driver picks up a load, the logistics company must have what is called a Certificate of Insurance which shows the driver’s insurance info- company, limits, effective dates, etc.
      Another good reason to contact the broker is to just for Sam to share his negative experience with them. The broker likely does not know how bad this driver is and how horrible of a job he did. The broker arranged the transport so a bad driver reflects badly on them. I always think it is important to let those in charge know of bad experiences whether it be in auto transport or restaurant service or quality. A company cannot fix something that they do not know is broken. Logistics companies especially likely have no idea how bad this driver is because they are usually huge with a huge number of drivers and I am sure if they did, he would be blacklisted from their runs. If for no other reason, Sam should contact them to save the next guy the grief he went through, that is, if he hasn’t already.

    • @kruleworld

    FYI,.....for future reference, I purchased a custom HummVee H1 and had it transported to a business near my residence. Upon the driver unloading, prior to my arrival, the driver slashed 2 mickey Thompson 35" tires and ripped off the rear mudflap(probably due to width of vehicle) along side the transport. When I got there, they said it was like that when they picked it up. FORTUNEATLY, I was smart enough to have the previous owner snap a couple pics of it on the transport pulling away and it was not damaged. right then and there I called the driver out and made him call his boss and take the money off transport costs before I paid the cash difference.

      The drivers usually own their own rig. From the sounds of it, this was a 2 person business. Even if the case had grounds, all that would happen is the company would fold and they would spend $100 to start a new LLC

    Small claims court would be involved, if it was me. Breach of contract leading to excess charges and damage against the driver/company and/or damage claims against the fork-lift driver/his(her) company. You shouldn't have to just swallow all this extra expense because the driver just wanted to be an asshole. And yes, the DOT requires a 34 hour "restart" rest period against drivers time log requirements. How the heck 34 hours takes it from Monday to the weekend is beyond me, however.

      Thomas Russell can you give me advice.?

    • @thomasarussellsr
      @thomasarussellsr 6 лет назад +9

      Tony J
      I would definitely call the broker and let them know what's going on. I never had more than 4 days between a pick-up and a delivery in almost a million miles of driving (about 5 1/2 years). As far as his "excuses" I can not say as I don't know the person/company your dealing with. There is an arguement for not going 900 miles for a single car (depending on the money involved) but if he is taking all this time, he isn't making any money. If the wheels ain't turning he ain't earning. I like to give people a measure of confidence in their word, but this does seem quite suspect. Call the broker and ask them to contact the driver personally. Unfortunately, breakdowns can cost quite a bit of "down time", especially if the rig is out of warrantee. It really depends on what the issue is and availability of parts in his/her area for his rig. Monthly payments and taxes on his equipment, along with any other charges/expenses would suggest that he is loosing money on this deal and should want to deliver just to collect the fees and pay his bills. Good luck.

I'm in the process right now of trying to get my local DA to actually press charges against a junkie who literally assaulted me and who has multiple other active investigations. This process started over a year ago.
      And this process is free for me.
      Now, pay a lawyer to sue someone over a process that pretty much got resolved with time, frustration, and less extra money than three hours of talking to a lawyer worth talking to. So you can then spend a bunch more money and time (time that is the thing that was frustrating about this to begin with, only now you're choosing to spend that time) to maybe get some money back.
      What you want, when you have "buy cars at auction all the time" money isn't a couple grand back, you want to see the person who annoyed you cry and holding their balls writing in pain on the ground. Well how was he going to get that?

    I work in a TA truck shop and when it comes to car haulers (that's the type of trailer) nearly every single one fails a DOT inspection, which is required by law for the truck and/or trailer to be in operation on the road. they treat them like crap, so if a driver is being difficult, then just look around his trailer for lights not working, or tire tread below 2/32, and tell them they can either give you more then 5 minutes or you'll call their info into to the DOT officers. (easiest thing is to say your brother/friend is a DOT officer). an almost guarantee fail on car haulers is the yellow/amber ABS light on the left rear corner. if it's on, or unplugged, then it fails DOT.
    Drivers fear the DOT more then God because they can shut them down indefinitely which means they aren't making money. They are even allowed, more or less, to go onto private property to randomly inspect trucks and trailers. Had a driver escorted to our shop by DOT for a cracked windshield and a bald tire, and when the repairs were done, (cost the guy $1200) we had to call him to return and reinspect the truck before the driver could leave. none of the "you have this long to get it fixed" stuff; you either get it fix right now, or they will impound your truck.

    • @crescentsweep2460

      They have an ABS light on the outside of their truck?

    • @Irishrebel092
      @Irishrebel092 6 лет назад +4

      yeah, on the trailer they do. it's usually a 2.5 inch round light with the letters ABS on it, or will just have a sticker above it that says ABS. it's on the outside so DOT can see at a glance if the trailer ABS system is working. I've personally seen about 30-40 times that drivers have unplugged the light so they can finish their load and don't get stopped by DOT officers. that is illegal and can get them a massive fine, or even their truck towed. been offered $100 multiple times by drivers that failed a DOT inspection and want me to just unplug the light so they can get to where their going. but that inspection is on a federal government form and would get me jail time and/or a $15,000 fine for falsifying.

    • @Irishrebel092
      @Irishrebel092 6 лет назад +5

      and when I say car haulers always fail, I mean like 90% of the time. I inspected a trailer that was literally driven two hours away from the dealership it was bought from with only maybe 200 miles on it, and it failed for wiring issues from the factory causing the tail lights to not work correctly.

I watched your employee taking off my trailer tire off the rim for 3 hrs plus he couldn’t do it and none of other losers in shop could do it until I got pissed and took it off the rim myself ! So you are just being real idiot with this comment because no good car hauler will ever come to TA for service unless it’s tire blow out or something real emergency because you losers can’t even fit car hauler in your shop ! I appreciate your videos and you seem like a very nice guy. I was an auto broker for 16 years and you were taken advantage of as bad as anyone I have ever heard of. The second you okay'd him leaving after he showed up you were done. That driver was not only disrespectful but you allowed him to change the agreement and then put you out. It was the shipping companies idea to 'manipulate" you and have you come to them to get the car days later at your expense. That damage done to your car was 100% on them. You never would have been to that yard if they had followed the original agreement. My personal and professional recommendation to you is take someone with you to film so you have all the evidence you need and invite a friend or family member with a back bone to tag along. Listening to that entire story was so incredibly frustrating. Dealing with the "meth" heads that drive those trucks is not for pushovers.

      That whole rigamarole was a complete waste of time. The driver dropped the car off 20 minutes from Sam's house just so he could load it up onto his trailer and drive it home himself. Completely defeats the purpose of a delivery service. Since the shipping company was contracted to deliver the car to his shop, they would have had no right to refuse delivery. With most shipping services, you pay extra to have it shipped to a location of your choosing, as opposed to a shipping depot or wherever else it's more convenient for the shipping company. Would have definitely fought them on this if it were me, but I can also understand just wanting to get it over with.

      As a person that has hauled cars for hire. There does not exist a contract that is even remotely going to allow you, him or anybody else to sue this driver/carrier. The driver may be a dick but it is not in his job description to help anyone, much less waste his time while someone has to learn how to get it off the trailer. This RUclipsr should have known ... BEFORE the driver got there, about how to get it to roll. I do not believe for a damn second that they only had 3 or 4 minutes with the car. I do not believe for a damn second that this driver did not want this car off the trailer. I used to bend over backwards to get some hunk of shit off my trailer, because that is money space for me. I've ran across dicks like this that want to be in the rebuilding business and refuse to own any equipment. (This freaking guy won't even buy his own trailer and borrows others shit. ((by his own admission in this video)) ). He may have ran across some acommidating drivers in the past but the responsibilities that he is placing on this driver, and I contend that he is lying about. Is not the drivers responsibility. Nor is that car his, until it is off of that trailer and the bill of laden is signed. His number one problem is that he is having cars hauled through a broker. His second problem, is him pestering the driver to death and not contacting through the broker. As a driver, when I'm driving, I prefer those to leave me the hell alone. A broker understands this and will be more patient. Dicks like this guy, don't understand Federal transportation laws and simply just don't give a shit. I'd say that he pissed him off before the driver ever got there by worrying him like a clingy exgirlfriend and he is again, lying about that. Guys, like this guy, are a dime a damn dozen.

Listened enough to hear him claim explicably that he had "3 to 4 mins" with the car. Which I call bullshit on. That is a lie. He said that while claiming his body shop guy was under the car looking for linkage to disconnect the transmission and he only had "3 to 4 mins with the car". Bullllllllllllshit. He should have know how to get the car out of park release before the driver got there. He was wasting the drivers time trying to learn how to get the car off the trailer. What he did not disclose is how damn long the truck and trailer was there waiting on them to figure it out. I listened close enough to know that he did not say that. "3 to 4 mins with the car" , ... my big ole ass.

    • @jclark1693

      Getinit 56 are you completely convinced the driver did no wrong? I used to work in freight, a lot of long haul guys don’t even know how to back their trailer up to a dock. My point here being that there is a lot of variability in driver quality. All kinds of people do any given job.
      He should have his own trailer, he should have looked up the parking release in advance.
      Even refusing to help push the car is part of the reason he got his rims scratched.
      The driver simply could have called him back or asked his dispatch to call him back. That’s not hard. That would have helped.
      Both parties were bad participants but one thing we have in this story is one person trying to communicate and the other avoiding communication. That’s never going to help.

      More work=more money. You can't blame him for trying. Especially when making the money we do. Time is money. And your time is very expensive. I normally make $10,000-20,000 a week delivering cars. However, my priority is having a satisfied customer. So as I said, you can't blame him for trying. But if it came down to it, a price was agreed upon. And most times when your nice and professional, which I always am and therefore have always gotten extra when extra work is needed, people don't have a problem paying for the extra time because they understand it was extra work. But, on the other hand, if the customer refused to pay more I would first try to negotiate a price he thought was more fair than the original bid. And if that didn't work then I would be willing to do whatever it took to get the car off my trailer asap. Because time is money. And we make alot of it. And we stay busy doing so.

    Back in the 90s, I worked as an operations manager for Adesa. We had a repo delivered to us one evening on an old 10 car hauler. The vehicle was a brand new Mercedes S-Class. I happened to have been talking with my lot manager at the time so I was present when the vehicle showed up. The 10 car trailer had detachable ramps, which simply had open hinges that hung over the lip of the trailer (there was no mechanism to lock them into place and were adjusted by the driver depending on the vehicle). At any rate, this particular driver was in a very bad mood. Initially, the driver wanted to pull his rig into an area inside our fence but my lot manager stopped him and explained that once he pulled in it would be extraordinarily difficult to back out while trying to avoid damaging the barrier of an adjacent fenced off area or running the trailer over an unusually tall curb, which drivers had previously hit, resulting in either damage to their rig or damage to our concrete curb. This didn't sit well with the driver, who argued that he knew full well how to handle his rig and didn't appreciate being insulted by instructions that implied he didn't. Still, my lot manager politely directed him to an open area outside the fence where he could offload. Once there, the driver began setting up in order to get the Benz off his trailer. As he began backing up the Benz, my lot manager and I both noticed that his ramps were angling up off the lip of the trailer (because he'd obviously misjudged the track width of the Benz). Both of us immediately tried to stop him in order to warn him that the ramps looked like they were going to fall off. He yelled back at us, exclaiming that, "Yeah, they do that sometimes... it's normal" (and cussing us both in a mock quiet voice that we could totally hear). So, we shut up and watched as he continued to back up. The ramps fell when the front tires hit the hinges, which were sticking up about 5 to 6 inches on one side of each ramp. The car fell with the front bumper still over the end of the trailer, and it sheered the front of the Benz almost completely off the car. I have to say though... it was probably the most delicious moment of _Schadenfreude_ I have ever personally experienced. So, I wrote up the accident report and contacted the transport company the following day (it was really late in the day when the driver showed up... around 7 or 8 pm). During the conversation I had with them they told me that he was a new driver for them and that they'd already had to write him up for something he had done previously. We never saw him again. I don't remember the exact figure, but the repair bill was over $5,000... which was comparatively cheap since I'd had two employees go on a joyride up and down our test track with two Vipers earlier that year and wrecked them both. The Vipers cost us over $40,000 to repair... but that's a story for another day.

    To recover your lost screw, you need a telescoping magnet. Looks like a pen, it extends, and has a rare earth magnet at the end of the shaft. I use mine extensively working on computers and electronics. Super handy tool. Mine was a Craftsman. I'm sure there are others just like it on Amazon.

    I had the worst and most stressful time with a car transport company too. Your story brings back bad memories. I had one car shipped from Wyoming to the Canadian border and it worked flawlessly. I then got a 69 GTO convertible shipped from North Carolina to the same border and it was a nightmare. The broker I was talking to seemed so greasy and disorganized, I told him I do not wish to have my car transported by him (sending me wrong pick up address, wrong name (some other customer's personal information was on it instead), wrong drop off address).Ends up the broker had the truck driver pick up my car and haul it away without a contract. Then when I called the truck driver and told him what happened he was appalled and gave me a discount. I called the broker and they told me they did what I wanted them to do...ship my car. I told them I didn't agree for anyone to take it, and there was no contract...and I was just being hard to please...and they demanded I pay them their brokerage fees. Obviously I didn't pay them any stupid broker fees and left them scathing reviews on all review websites. They complained to the websites saying I wasn't actually a customer (well, I wasn't since I didn't pay them anything). After discussions with the review sites, they let me keep the reviews up because this was pretty serious. On google and yelp, it shows them "out of business", but in fact they aren't..they just made it as "Closed" and made a new google business account with the same name and same city (Kissimmee, FL) in order to start fresh. Stay away from Transauto Transport in Kissimmee, FL.

    Really disappointed to see that you already removed the name of the transport company. I understand people suck, but at the end of the day its nobody's fault but the company and its employees themselves. Help your loyal subscribers out and re-release the company name so that we can avoid going through same hassles that you and many of their other customers had to. It doesn't make sense to release a 20 minute video explaining the situation that you want people to avoid, and then NOT tell us what company to dodge....
    *EDIT* I am noticing that people are leaving negative reviews on Facebook and Yelp for MULTIPLE companies based on speculation in the comments. Now damage is being done to several company reputations, meaning companies with nothing to do with this situation are getting a bad wrap.

    When shipping a used car, always video the vehicle in depth at time of purchase and signing of the contract. Text a copy to the shipper and note it on the contract. They will hold you to the contract, you do the same. Any damages on the vehicle are to be covered by the shipping company. They are in the business and have coverage or shipping bonds to cover issues.

    Man, what an ordeal. It is amazing how stupid that driver was acting throughout the entire transport.
    Good thing you have your car at your place. The scratches on the wheels should be easy enough for a wheel refinishing place to do for you locally. If not you may want to reach out to HRE and talk to them about refinishing them. I understand they do that for customers. Goods Luck and looking forward to seeing this beast up and running!

    I'm glad you got your car back . You are lucky. I wouldn't have been as patient as you .
    It was evident that he was taking parts off your car . If he had known the value of your wheels , he would have gotten those too.
    I took my 1990 Corvette to the shop to have a transmission put in it . I didn't have time to do it myself and it was quicker to pay a shop . I paid the shop in advance (big mistake).The guy kept putting me off , about fixing my vette. He did pull the transmission out . To make a long story short , I went to get my car and the shop owner blocked it in and wouldn't let me have it . The rear bumper was scraped where he used another car to push it behind his shop . ( He was also driving the customers cars home and etc . I was there when he was leaving the shop . I told him , he was driving a nice car . He said it wasn't his but was one of his customers.)
    He also claimed he couldn't find the transmission and the related parts . I left the shop and went straight to magistrate court and filed some paperwork against him and included that he didnt have my transmission and related parts and took the guy to court . To find out , after I filed the paperwork, he then went to the courthouse to file a paper , saying I had abandoned the car ( who in their right mind would abandon their corvette ) . The courthouse wouldn't let him file one against me because I had filed against him. When I went to court, I had to pay $275 for storage fees that he claimed I owed . I paid him in full before he even started the work , there was no storage fees in the agreement because he was suppose to fix the car , which I paid him to do. I got my transmission and related parts . If the transmission and parts weren't there when I went to the car , he would go to jail for stealing parts off my car . This guy is located in Calhoun Georgia , about a half mile from what is know as the "spur ". Located near the school.
    If I had been the nice guy that I usually am , I probably wouldn't have gotten my Corvette back.
