- Star Wars The Acolyte is out now and here is my initial review and reaction! Episode 4 is the halfway mark for the new Star Wars series and I give my honest opinion on the episode and how it could be a very bad sign for the future episodes to come. #StarWars #TheAcolyte

Being honest. I don't even think this is a sith anymore after he chose not kill Mae. I think it's their mother.
I said the same thing. Osha's reaction to the master didnt seem like fear to me, but more as disbelief that the person presence seems familiar to her. That she also presumed that they was also dead. It's either the mother that conceived through the force, or the one that gave birth to them.

The thing is, if it's Mae's mum then why would she be shocked that Mae's alive when she wouldn't have realised her body wasn't among the dead witches, plus she knows the Jedi survived? And why wouldn't she have looked after Osha on the planet after everyone else died? Did she get a Sith outfit straight away & pretend to not know Osha then teach her the force/thread?
How is she this powerful yet let the fire spread/the witches die & jedi escape?
Why did Osha even think her sister was dead when she was the one that fell, not Mae.
So much dumb writing, nothing makes sense.
I thought episode #4 was good. I liked how they revealed that she wanted to turn herself into the Jedi. It tells the story of her being manipulated by Qimir and that her revenge was based by an untruth. It revealed that Qimir could read her thoughts and her conflict.
Bro how the fuck did that sith sneak up on a wookie jedi?? Even without the force he should have smell his scent or something unless he has active camo like in KOTOR. Oshi saying she doesn't like killing but she touch the bug forcing it to attack her group.
Also it's crazy the jedi didn't inform the council about this I mean sure their working for the senate but I trust they too would keep it secret and send probably more jedi masters and knights to capture Mae.
Ki Adi Mundi wasn’t there when they confronted the dark side user. Also, when there was clear evidence of the Sith existing following the encounter with Darth Maul, they still denied it. The council was arrogant, and we can see that in lines from Mace Windu like when he mentions the Sith couldn’t return without the Jedi knowing.
This further plays into why Luke in episode 8 was so disillusioned with the Jedi, as clearly it’s easy to become complacent when you have a monopoly on the force. It’s clear that the Jedi can abuse their power, as we’ve seen in this show and many others

You know I’m starting to get annoyed about this. Everyone is sh*ting on Disney Star Wars all the time. Like come on, you don’t actually have to watch it. You do have a choice you know. No one is forcing you all too. Every Star Wars movie and tv show ever made has “cinematic and storytelling issues”. We still love them or love to complain about them. They are all derivative and have issues caused by budgets and limitations of technological effects. People need to chill. Enjoy what you want to enjoy with star wars and don’t watch what you don’t enjoy.

This episode was slow but I can’t judge the whole series until it’s done. All I can do is hope.

This Seems like it’s leading to a dynamic where when they unite they’ll be stronger together. It seems like when they were separated they just kept falling. But when they encounter I think both Mae and OSHA will have a stronger connection with the force. Osha will reconnect with the force. The twins are starting to sound mythological where they were once one person then became separated and each twin embodies each side of their once dual nature. Because why would sol tell her she won’t be facing Mae she’ll be facing her past. And he will too. That’s the thing that stood out to me the most.

Interesting, so thinking your Twin bother had died 16 years ago, falling down this dark path - then seeing you Brother (Twin) alive would not have a profound effect on your choices and next steps - wouldn't confuse you and make you concider changing your path?
The apothecary should’ve told Mae that she would have to kill OSHA. That would’ve explained the switch.

I see where this is headed and I can’t believe someone would green light another “She Hulk”. But yet here we are.
The show was 26 min about the same amount cartoons , they kill the wookie off screen ,didnt even give him a off screen fight like hime destroyed lightsber marks all over the place, its like he snuck up on the wookie somehow , then early on you had the bugs which could have been a nice scene but only one bug wakes up despite them being attracted to light and sol activted his, also Ki-Adi-Mundi wasnt even born yet but somehow hes in this show , and the small fight scene
What if Schmi Anakin's Mother was a member of this witch coven and that's the true reason she gave birth to him
It’s a shame that there is so much great material that are now legends that they could use to bring Star Wars back. Like creating material involving Darth Malgus, Exar Kun, Darth Revan but stubbornly refuse to use the old material.
You know why? Because they think they can do better.
I’ve seen nothing that shows they can, but for some reason, they have an unlimited budget and resources to make fanfic-quality content for their own egos.
These hacks weaseled their way in and no one will do anything about it. And “hack” is a generous term.
If these people were pilots of the same abilities as their showmaking, the planes would all have crashed into mountains by now.
The villain looks identical to the dead sith character from Ashoka that turned into green gas when he died. Just different face parts on their masks. Same build, same shape helmet.

Bringing in Ki-Adi Mundi is my least favorite part. They retconned canon way to hard with that. His species doesn’t even live long enough for his appearance to make sense.
It also diminishes his phantom menace line about the sith being extinct for a millennium
I think the 4 Jedi killed the witch coven because they thought the fire was set by them to sacrifice the children so that they wouldn't be taken by the Jedi. That's the cover up that Sol constantly hints at within the show, once they realized what happened they covered it up because if that information for out, it would destroy the jedi and the whole organization. That would be the most sensible plot piece imo; the show is still bad though horrible pacing and no emotion from the actors accept for Sol.
Mae is faking what she said about turning probably because look at the footage in your video I kept pausing and rewinding it and it shows Mae taking the red lightsaber, and it looks like the wookie may be possessed or something or maybe even working for the sith or wte it is. Not saying the show is good but I kept looking at the footage because I’m trying to figure wtf is happening in this show and I think I picked up some clues. Master Sol is even in one of the flashbacks fighting someone which shows an explosion in a temple which has to be where the twins lived and so like some people said it might be their mom doing this
The dark side is strong with this one.
Sol is the only character that is interesting to me because the actor is pretty good at his roles. Does anyone else think this mysterious sith's outfit looked lame or is it just me? Maybe I'm just too spoiled from the kotor and swtor sith outfits
They spoke nothing of The Sith. If you watch, they think it's a splinter cell of the Order.
It's possible May was getting mind-controlled then in this episode he let go of the mind control and that's why she changed back
I don't see that Mae has turned to the light, or even fully sumerged into the dark side. All this time her goal was to avenge the death of her community and her sister (that's why she was after 4 particular Jedi, not any Jedi), she was trained by the one that encouraged her to fullfill her vengeance (for the master is irrelevant if she kills a particular Jedi, for him/her is that she kills a Jedi), but all changes when Mae saw Osha alive, obsessed as we saw before with her sister, her goal changes. Till that moment she wasn't doing anything "evil" (fromt her certain point of view), for her the veangance was right, she did BAD things but that don't make her evil, just... wrong (as we saw in several Star Wars characters... Han Solo was a smuggler of "spice"!!!!! what we now know that is the equivalent of real drugs!!!). So Mae and her masters just had a common goal till now, when the priorities of her changed.
To avenge the sister she thought she tired to kill… how noble.
@@Motard.Actual I'm sure not, most probably she will kill but for other reason now, as protect her sister... or anyone that separate of her. Surrender to the Jedi is just the most quickly way to reach Osha in that moment.

There's so much wrong with the writing on this show.
Why would Osha even think that Mae was dead? She fell not Mae. She knows the Jedi who were there are alive so why wouldn't her sister be? Surely after the fire she would have gone back to her home to look for any survivors? (She wouldn't have seen her sisters dead body) Who looked after her on that planet if everyone perished in the fire?
The list goes on....

Overall, I am enjoying the show. With a franchise as broad as SW not every show/movie is going to be a banger, but that is part of what comes with the benefit of getting a lot of content. For an entire decade we had no live action Star Wars at all.
I can't really judge these types of shows mid-season because it's really an extended movie broken into TV episodes. I am enjoying it so far. It's not perfect but I must reserve my full judgment until the season is over.
Also I think fans would do better to not follow down the rabbit hole of getting worked up over what any individual director/witer/producer has said in real life. For example, as a music fan, with rare exceptions, I don't care what the artist says or does in their personal life if I like their music. If I think an artist is a monster of a person I may choose not to support their music but I can't go around digging through the internet to figure out which person in my playlist has values that don't line up with mine 100%.

@rapinbatches My comment was aimed to give a perspective on taking a wider view of Star Wars content rather than being reactionary. I'm not telling people what to think or how to enjoy SW. There is SW content I think is just plain bad too. Having been a consumer of Star Wars content for over 25 years I realize that sometimes bad comes with the good and it doesn't ruin my life because I'm a grown @$$ man and Star Wars is for fun.

I saw plo koon in the episode as well.
they established early on that she only wants to kill the jedi in revenge for her sister - reducing Mae to 'evil' is a bit simplistic too, she's done horrible stuff for her own warped view of justice. a flashback to her childhood would've been too cheesy, she was clearly (to me anyway) poking Qimir for information and showing signs of doubt
the Mae moment solidified for me that I'm rooting for this show, it was lighthearted cus she's trying to convince herself she'll survive her plan (doubt it). But it was bold and interesting
Am I the only person who enjoys the show? Episode 3 was a little weird but I didn’t find it awful like everyone on the internet. And episode 4 sure there wasn’t a lot of action but I was actually into it. I mean the cliff hanger of the Jedi vs. the sith like person was so exciting. I was a little bummed the Wookiee was just found dead…. But it was definitely a twist I didn’t see coming.
No you’re not. Don’t let people with big platforms persuade you otherwise. So many channels are complaining about this show. It spoils it for people who actually want to escape from their lives for 30mins or an hour each week. Enjoy it brother and don’t let anyone make you feel like you shouldn’t
probably even some of those who criticises this might also enjoy the show, but they just want the stories to be written better.
Because why not, the stories can be good and enjoyable the same time, and speaking out opinions is the best way to make change. How can these shows improve objectively with out critisism? Its just normal.
And yes, enjoy the show freely, you have right for that :)

I thought the first two were okay. Third was...well you know. 4th my biggest problem was you guessed it...Ki-Adi-Mundi. That line in TPM is what MAKES TPM so plausible and so great.

Just utter disappointment yet again! The dialogue was horrendous. All Jedi looked like they have just walked out from a church.. All looking neat and tidy. And 5 seconds of action right at the end, if you would even call that action. Even for less than 40 mins an episode, please don't waste anymore time watching it. Hurts bad if you're a Star Wars and had to criticize what you loved.
This show is boring and when the end starts picking up, they cut to black.

Man, I felt the same way listening to the bad takes in this video. It seems that some folk need to just learn to enjoy things rather than get all frothed up over "canon" and "lore" in work where the creator was also fickle with lore changes. I had to get over this attitude when the prequels came out, and now I can enjoy these things after giving up gatekeeping.

@@Proutt It's not really bad writing. Mae blamed the Jedi for taking away her sister whom she thought was dead. Now that she's alive this changes things for her. The dead wookie is just a silly complaint so not even gonna bother with that.

Another terrible episode, goofy dialogue, bad acting, horrible writing, and they wonder why this show is getting destroyed by most fans. The Jedi masters don't even act like Jedi, they are dumb, conflicted and confused. All we got was literally a hiking video. WTF is this show lmao

That make white people cry thing is taken out of context she said that about the hate you give, about trying to get people emotional over the story to combat racism she didn’t say it as in I hate white people I love watching them cry, she wasn’t being rude
This show has been so bad from the story to the characters to the costume and cgi it is almost like a CW show.
Star Wars has had so many bad projects that i can count every good ones on my fingers on one hand...it trully is so sad.
I really dont like kathleen kennedy and her political agenda driven motive and it does not help when actors and Leasly Headland blames the fans and act really aggresive and toxic against the fans who critices this bad show.
WHat is worse is that we have tons of really good stories and lore in legends that they just dont want to use at all and just create new characters and stories for "modern audiance" which then creates a hostile war against the OG and prequal fans vs the sequal and kathleen kennedy fans which is not helping anyone.
I think they should stop milking B rated shows and mainly focus on a new set of movies with characters so far back or in the future away from the skywalker saga with REAL and talented actors and writters and directors and not this amateur directing and woke writters.
I can’t stand channels like this anymore, they hate Star Wars more than anything. Quit trying to justify your hatred so much and just watch it

I gave legit good reasons why I didn't like this episode. I've always been positive about Star Wars but lately I have no been impressed at all 🙄 this year has totally sucked as a Star Wars fan
