Can I just say how much I appreciate skilled bassists being so supportive of beginners in here? I, like many others, never realized how involved the bass is in this song. No wonder why they are so good. Wow.
My roommates got a guitar I like to piddle around on and any time I'm actually in the mood to look something up for it, it's hellish. Wonky sites that don't work, pay walls and atrociously bad tabs. It's like the guitar community is actively trying to weed people out. Definitely grateful that bass makes more sense to me and feels better as a main instrument. 😊
@@a.g.4843no need to be obtuse mate , I think what he means is if you listen to the song normally you don’t hear all the bass notes due to the guitar riff which is correct it sounded different than I thought it would in isolation when I first heard the bass only

Bob is is one of the best. His innovation speaks for itself. Bob, Randy, Lee, and Ozzy are the top of the Metal food chain. One of the No. One best metal band of all time. Blizzard!
As a beginner I've slowed it down to half speed just to learn it all, difficult because I'm using fingers so the real fast 2 2 4 4 bit is impossible currently. Great tutorial, thankyou
For the most part in the chorus, Bob Daisley is doubling the guitar. That section is the part where RR does all harmonics, so Bob follows the kick and plays the root and an octave of the root (F#). It looks more complicated than it actually is.

Nate, you make that Spector LT sound nearly identical to the original recording. Great "Ear" for the right bass and attack with the plectrum. Kudos, sir!!
I've listened to this song a hundred times and never noticed how busy the bass part was. (I guess I was always distracted by the guitar.). Anyway, this was a fantastic cover. Nicely done!
Wow there's so much great bass work in that song that I never really noticed! I only really picked out the intro stuff in the actual recordings both studio and live. Bring up the fundamentals!
Great job man!!!! I like that chromatic bass line part in the chorus right after the first part of the chorus, " Mental wounds not healing" and then you hear that cool chromatic bass line!!!!😄😀😃😀😄😀😃🤗😊😊🙂
Great, only since I started to torture my Harley Benton Marquess-5 3 months ago and constantly have knots in my fingers I check what fantastic musicians but the bassists are. Cheers to Bob, Geddy and Rudy
Best cover on youtube as always. Did you ever heard of Soften The Glare? They're an underrated band with former Mudvayne's bassist Ryan Martinie, you're the only one I can think of who could totally master his technique. Edit: I understand you make covers of popular songs that people ask for, but you're that one guy who would absolutely nail the tricky parts that people are looking for on some songs.
Bob, lee blended in so perfectly with Randy. A real shame bob never gets the credit he should for those first 4 albums. Bob and Randy's write was so perfect.
This is just me but I personally thought the song was easy probably because I played really hard songs on base I’ve been doing bass for about a year I started in orchestra and I’ve had really fun sense thank you For teaching me crazy trains on base it was one of my fun songs to ever learn and I had a blast playing it and I really like the rest that’s my favorite part and if you’re having a hard time playing this song just keep practicing you’ll eventually get it😊

It seems to me that to be able to pull the chorus part off more easily, a change in traditional alternate picking may be in order to maximize economy of motion. Instead of the usual down/up down/up; change to up/down (E string) and down/up (D string). But then again, that may require new muscle memory than just applying the traditional alternate picking technique but at a much faster pace. Thoughts?

Bob Daisley is one of the greatest unsung bass heros of hard rock.
True ! Great basslines.
Totally!!!
he is sung
Yes
And he made it look so easy. He is legend.
Intro - “this looks easy”…. Chorus - “hold my beer” 😎
I couldn't play that part, that must be because I'm a beginner 😪
practice makes perfect...
Are you talking about this moment? 1:24
chorus is easy, keep practicing man
One day it'll be part of your warm up, you got this dude 🤙
I never realized how delightfully funky the verse was for the bass in this song
Everybody always talks about what a banger the guitar track is but damn, great bass piece too.
just a great song overall :D

That sums it up perfectly lol
Nailed it! 👆🏼
Haha! Totally
Replace the f# sixteenth notes with 8th notes (even on just the low one if you want)
Hahaha😅

same
