Two of my grandparents upgraded this cycle and were overjoyed to use the 14 Plus. I believe a lot of older people benefit from the larger size which makes easier to see but importantly increases touch target sizes.
Exactly, the plus models work great for the seniors who are in the iOS system. They are also likely the ones who would appreciate a bigger battery. Too bad that the plus is quite expensive
Wow, 2x 14 Plus!!😅 You could've gotten them a big screen Android for half the price, and you could even install a custom launcher that's much more user-friendly for the elderly!
@@rbnmngl not the company. Theres not enough money to justify the expense of a whole new production line. Especially when they know their cult will buy whatever
I loved my 12 mini, but the battery degraded quickly dropping to 85% capacity in just over a year. Got the 13 mini and the overall experience with the battery is so much better. Not only does the battery last longer but the capacity is still 100% after 8mo
Honestly a large phone user… I recently purchased the 14 plus and I think it’s a perfect price point. Used to always have to pay for the pro max version of every phone because I have decently large hands. Was happy to see could get a regular version in the form factor I enjoy. 😅
For my iPhone I use a 13 mini & it's hands down the best iPhone I've ever used. The battery is noticeably better than the 12 mini, smaller notch, camera is impeccable for typical users and the size can't be beat. I also love the green color! If I HAD to choose one of the new iPhones I think I would also be forced into getting the 14 Pro.
I have a 13 mini for work and 14 pro max for personal. I prefer that larger size because of being able to browse more comfortably and seeing more content.
@@mementomori29231 Do you ever feel like the 14 Pro Max is cumbersome even though you can view more content at any given time? I definitely agree, it's nice to have a big screen when watching RUclips videos or playing games, but I think that may come down to each person's use case. I feel like I'm more of a utilitarian when it comes to my personal device. I'm very much the "it's a tool", or "it only comes out when I need it" type of person, lol.
@@mementomori29231 Love the 13 mini as a phone. Got my laptop for browsing content. The small screen is a good tool to discourage unnecessary screen time.
@@mementomori29231 Had the 12 Pro Max, then 13 Mini and now 14 Pro Max again. But I have to agree, that I will switch back to the 15 Pro next year, just because of the form-factor. Max-Models are just not really handy enough, because of their size. My hope was that Apple will move to a iPhone Mini Pro in the future. But sadly they stopped continuing this line. The Mini with the same cameras of the Pro models would just be awesome. So the best deal between up-to-date tech and form-factor seems currently really the pro-line without the max.
I'm exclusively (until now) an android user, but I decided to buy a 13 mini because it's the only phone on the market that's small enough for my hands and pockets! I had a Z flip, but they're too tall to use one-handed when unfolded for me, even though they're gorgeous. I'm happy with the mini aside from the cameras compared to my previous Samsung phones
Yup. When i broke my 3a and I had to upgrade, the 7 and 7 pro were almost the same price as the 6a due to a promotion. But I couldn't get over the extra size and weight, so i went with the 6a (and it's still a bit too big for my taste)
I have the 12 mini, then loved it so much and got the 13 mini because of the huge difference in battery. Then I got the 13 pro max just to see what the deal was all about - and you pretty much summarized it here. The pro max and plus sizes are monstrosities. I rather much prefer the 13 mini form factor, but could live with the regular 6.1" models.
Just got the 13Mini and this is my phone for the next 4-5 years. Had an 11 for last two years and it was too big and heavy. The mini is just so great for carrying without even noticing as much.
Almost same story here. Upgraded from 10 to 13 mini and love it. Almost bought the 12 mini but the extra batterylife is worth it imo. One handed phone gang 4life
I've done exactly the same, had the 11 for 2 years then upgraded in October to a 13 mini, the 11 was sometimes too big and heavy while the mini is just perfect. Maybe that's because I've used it for 2 years straight but I haven't really seen a downgrade in battery life when upgrading, that being said, my 11 was at 84% battery capacity while the 13 mini obviously is at 100%.
As someone who got an Apple Watch because the Max was so big I didn't want to carry it all the time but founthe watch to be too useless, I think the mini might be the solution for me.
I myself use a 13. I REALLY wanted to get the 13 mini but you cannot deny that in the long run the battery degradation is going to hit harder on the smaller phones.
Maybe they could alternate Plus and Mini years. So the lineup stays compact each year, but consumers still have the choice of buying last years model if they value form factor more than 1 year of new features
I think the Mini form factor could be the iPhone SE of the future. That would also finally get them to move on from the iPhone 6-8 design language. Don't get me wrong, I love that design and the Home Button, but at one point, we should really move on from that screen and camera module.
@@SyRose901 with the 48 mp main sensor being out, this makes total sense, even down to the dual cameras, because it is still great, but gives the non se phones a leg up still
Coming from a 5in size android to a iPhone 8 to a xs to a 13 pro max. I felt in love with the screen and battery life watching content on those smaller phones just didn’t cut it.
@@macaddress please do a retrospective on the Apple tv streaming box primarily the evolution of TVos. it is very useful for my 3-year-old OLED tv that has a very slow response and slower update cadence.
I thought I'd like the larger display on the XS Max - the largest phone Apple made up until that point. After years of using it, I found I, increasingly, hated its large form factor. But phones are expensive now so an upgrade wasn't really intriguing until this year, when I got a 14 Pro. I'd argue that, without a case, it's about the perfect size, but with one, it's ever-so-slightly too big. And I've got a kid, so it's gotta have a case. I'm happy with my purchase, even if the 13 was, arguably, pretty similar - I've got a year's worth of advances and newer components that will easily last me until the 17 or 18, instead of a battery that's been sitting on a shelf for a year.
Just wanted to point out that this video has some incredibly nice transitions. The shoe one and the dynamic island one were so impressively well done, I had to go back and watch them again. Props to the team for having such good production value :)
I love the smaller pro phones. You get all the advanced features without the huge size. I have owned a few larger phones and they're just too big. The best large phone I owned was the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra because although it was big, it was also narrow so quite easy to hold and use one handed and the software made it easy to use without having to reach. I still prefer iOS overall though so I'm using a 13 Pro right now and will use it until the 15 Pro. I hope the rumors around the Ultra phone arent true because I dont want to be forced to buy the biggest phone just to get all the advanced features/cameras.
I'm hoping Apple is keeping all the tooling from the minis to make a future SE variant using that form factor. That'd be the ideal phone as long as they don't compromise too much on features to push people to more expensive models.
I know many people who own the iphone 13 or 12 mini including myself. I was really shocked when I've heard they are going to discontinue it. I still love it.
i miss the 5.8” X/11. going from the X to 11 Pro Max was nice especially the battery, but the 5.8” was such a good combo of big screen and compact body, the 6.1 isn’t much smaller than the Plus and the mini is too small for me
I would probably ditch my mini for an 11 pro size again. The 11 pro/11/11 pro max sizing was perfect. A smaller powerful phone for those that didn’t need a massive screen, an inexpensive big screen for people that only cared about a big screen, and then the powerful phone WITH a massive screen.
This is my favorite video I’ve come across! I switched from an S20 to the 13 mini earlier this year. The regular models are too wide and bulky for my liking, even though my Samsung phone was a 6.1 Cons- not too much variety in phone cases Pros- small, easy to fit in pockets, not heavy My mom switched to iPhone this year too- she prefers bigger phones so yes, she got the 14 plus.
I remember when big phones first started coming out and thinking how ridiculously/unnecessarily huge they were. Then I got a 6 Plus, and I've never been able to go back to small screens since...I'll happily take a bigger screen over the convenience of a smaller form factor.
I have bought the iPhone 12 mini this year and I found it to be the best phone I have ever used. The smallness is so practical, I can put it the smallest pocket and I can reach every corner of the mini with one hand. By the way the small battery isn’t bothering me at all. I can use it a whole day if I charge it in the morning. I hope apple will bring back the mini series.
I'm so happy with my iPhone 13 mini! I've always thought big phones looked ridiculous (remember the term "phablet"?), so when Apple released the 12 mini I was itching to get but held onto my 7, but when the 13 mini came out, I saw my opportunity and took it! I really hope they bring back the mini line in the future.
I'm kinda the opposite, I always thought they looked the best and was really glad the entire industry went the way of the Note. I wonder if the market for mini phones can make a comeback.
"Maybe they'll bring it back? I think I resent the 14 plus" I love this channel. Thanks for standing up for us mini lovers! I'm so bummed they got rid of it.
I remember going with the 8 Plus when it was a year old because I could get it at a really good price and because the 8 Plus had some really nice features over the 8 and even the 7 lineup. The iPhone X was way out of my budget at the time so that's how I landed on the 8 Plus. After having used that one for 4 years however I found myself wanting to go smaller again and decided to go with a 13 pro over a 13 pro max. The size is honestly perfect for me. I can see the appeal of a mini though I think I would personally rather stick to the base model form factor of the iPhone lineup.
I went from the 7 Plus to the 13 Pro just a few weeks ago and I was worried about it being too small since I was used to giant phones but so far it’s been perfect
The mini was the reason I switched to iphone, plan on keeping it for a long time unless Apple releases another mini variant. I rarely use my camera, fits in my front pocket, and single-hand use is so much comfortable. I still think this is the perfect size for a phone but I understand many other people consume most of their media on phones rather than on laptops/desktops.
I currently use an iPhone XR, and went from a 7. I loved the smaller form factor, and would gladly pick up an iPhone 13 mini, however it doesn’t make sense to me financially as my current phone still works fine
So I completely 100% agree with the smaller screen. My 13 mini was my favorite phone. The size is perfect for my pocket and it did everything that I wanted it to do with the exception of one thing. The phone company considered me a “power user“ and what they meant by that is I had to charge my mini twice a day because the battery was not large enough for me to do the every day tasks that I need to do. My phone has apps on it that I use for my job and those apps run GPS which drains the battery significantly. Due to the small form factor of the phone and the even smaller battery, I had to trade in my 13 mini to get a 14 and I went for the pro max phone. Now I have this gargantuan phone that lasts me an entire day doing all of my work and everything else that I do with my phone, but I miss my small phone so much.
Yeah I got a MagSafe portable charger, charged it every night and it carried me to the finish line perfectly every day. I’d never dip below 20% to end the day and it was perfect.
I'm a 12 Pro Max user. My sister recently received an iPhone SE3 work phone and i was absolutely in awe how good, intuitive and actually usable it felt in the hand.
I love the production of this video, the way they recorded the whole video in the scene, then amazing transitions in videos when the scene/topic had to be changed. Kudos to the team!
taking nicer pictures was a huge deal for me and is the reason i went for my pro, I was dealing with lack of screen real estate, coming from my iPhone 6, so I went with the iPhone 13 Pro Max. About a year into using this phone I find that I don't much care for the bigger screen anymore (I have purchased an iPad Air in the meantime, which solves my screen real estate issue). I don't have trouble with using a bigger phone like this, because I've gotten used to and developed techniques for "stretching" to the top without actually stretching my hand, and still maintaining grip. However, I totally agree with it being cumbersome in pockets. I don't regret going for a Pro model, because I do actually use the camera a ton, and I am very happy with the quality of the pictures I'm taking on my phone (it's much easier than carrying around my dslr everywhere). Overall, I would consider going to an iPhone mini, as a smaller screen might keep me from spending entire days watching RUclips videos on my phone, but I would definitely miss the cameras. My ultimate iPhone would be a mini with pro cameras.
@@Ignash Unfortunately won't ever happen because the camera system would be absolutely massive on the mini, and the battery would be even smaller in order to fit the cameras
I am now, reluctantly, an iPhone user because 13 mini is the last reasonably sized phone with flagship specs. If they don't bring it back in, say, 3 years of time, or there are again android options in this size, they're not getting my money when it's time to upgrade. Love the size though, it's _perfect_ for all the reasons mentioned.
I'm with Jonathan on this one. I went from a 2020 SE (which was small and rounded and great) to a regular 13 (which is slightly too big and angular) and I definitely use my phone less just because it doesn't comfortably fit in as many convenient pockets (especially problematic in jackets), and it just feels like more of a hassle to get out for a minute or two to check social. I would love a phone in the SE's rounded chassis with no home button, less of a bezel and upgraded tech.
Yes, I agree. It's stupidly big. Bring back the mini! I got the 12 mini at launch, I still have it. It's fantastic. If I went out to buy a new phone now, it would be a 13 mini and keep it until it breaks, nothing else is even worth considering to be honest.
Happy 12 mini user here! I am going to upgrade to a 13 mini very soon, just because I want to have that formfactor as long as possible. Maybe we'll see an SE in a couple of years that is based on the mini?
basically same experience here. upgraded from 6s to 13 mini around 8 months ago and the increase in battery life was a stark contrast to having to charge my 6s multiple times a day. i love this thing and will hold onto it for as long as possible.
I used the 12 mini the last two years but recently got a great deal for a normal 13 and switched. Im not a heavy phone user, so in that aspect, the mini was perfect. When I wanted to use it e.g. while traveling, it felt too small to enjoy using it. I really wished they had something between the mini and the normal sized ones. 5,7-8 inches would be the sweet spot for me.
I much prefer the larger screen. One of your biggest complaints was not being able to reach UI elements in the top of the screen, but the phone has “reachability”. Just swipe down at the bottom of the screen, and it temporarily slides the whole screen down.
I have the 14 plus and honestly couldn’t be happier with it lol. And I put this thing through it’s paces. I have a special Canon camera for regular photography, but when I don’t have it, the camera on this thing is great, but I also have the 2022 iMac, and the iPad Air 5, and transferring between everything is just so seamless. If you want a dynamic island that you’ll get used to and bored with in a year, or less, and an “ever so slightly better camera”, than go ahead and spend another $200-$300 in some cases, which you could just use to buy an entry level DSLR lol) but if you just want a great phone and don’t have baby hands, the 14 plus is a perfect phone. Then again, 90% of people just want phones for TikTok now so what the hell do I know lol 🤷🏻♂️
I got a 12 pro max only because it had the bigger camera at the time. Once the 13 pro was announced to have the same camera I immediately traded my 12 back in because I hated how large it was. I love my 12 mini which is jailbroken and running custom scripts for me. Perfect little box to ssh into and use it’s sensors.
I've been a Plus/Max user since the 6s Plus, but with the 14 line, I decided to go smaller and I am amazed at how much more I enjoy using the phone. Though the camera bump is getting out of hand, the slightly smaller form factor of the 14 Pro over the Max variant makes it so much easier to use one handed. Not sure how I'd feel with a mini though.
The 13 Mini was regarded as the best phone in a long time by many. I don’t know anyone who screamed with joy when they announced a second bigger phone. I planned to upgrade to the 14 Mini from my 2020 SE. I bought the 13 Mini when rumours solidified that they‘re not making one. Here is hope it’ll be like the iPad Mini - a new one every ~3 years, which is absolutely fine by me.
The 13 mini was the reason I switched from android. The 12 mini caught my eye, but the battery life reviews kept me away. The 13 mini solved those issues and I jumped ship. The HTC One M7 was probably my favorite size of a phone, and the mini is pretty much that size, with a full front display. I have bigger hands too, but you just can’t comfortably use any of the larger iPhones (or newer androids..) one-handed.
I’m not surprised by that at all. The 6s is my favorite. The size is perfect for me. I like Touch ID and It’s comfortable. I can do everything easily with one hand. I upgraded to the 14 Pro and I’m still somewhat regretting it. I should’ve gone with the SE or Mini. 😂 Well I gotta get used to it now as I won’t be upgrading again for many years to come.
I totally get you. I'm a bit worried about the future of compact one-handable phones after the announcement of the 13 mini being the last of it's kind.
13 mini user as a temporary replacement for my damaged 13, which was my first iphone from being an android user since early 2010. My 13 has returned from repair and I'm now torn between sticking with the mini or going back to the 13. I'd initially picked the 13 rather than a larger model as it was relatively compact. But, size, weight, grip and all that good stuff is so much better on the mini, especially pocketability. That capability is identical makes it even harder to choose the 13. I had no interest in the 14 anyway, but was a little disappointed to see the smaller model go. I am surprised that the 14 max is less popular as I could see the size trend increasing, but thought the pricing structure weird as the pro seemed better value. I do hope that the mini returns in future cycles and with the same aplomb the 13 mini had over the 12 mini (eg significant upgrades in all areas but particularly where it had been weaker eg battery life). I suspect that another small factor phone in a consistent line-up without being dropped after a single refinement cycle would hold more weight with consumers and gain greater traction over time.
As you get older, you eyes will appreciate the larger screen more and more. There is also the "swipe down" feature for those hard to reach areas. I have the 13 pro max . . . upgraded from the 11 pro max.
Agreed plus there’s the back gesture swiping on the left side of the screen to the right and the quick switch app gesture by swiping right or left the home bar.
I think it’s a real shame as the mini are what I find interesting, it feels like the perfect size. I do hope they bring it back however I’d love to see a mini pro… not sure that’s something we’d ever see though sadly.
Totally agree with your take on this. I’ve got the exact same 12 mini and planning on getting the 13 mini sometime in the new year. Hoping to hold onto that phone for as long as possible.
Totally on board with all of this. I just had an opportunity to get any phone and I explicitly chose the 13 mini over the newer models. I would prefer the shorter notch and purple option of the 12 mini, but the better battery, newer chip, and higher storage kept me from it.
My favourite size of phone is the older 5.8" screens in the iPhone X, XS & 11 Pro, they're in a nice sweet spot where watching media on it isn't tedious but they fit into a pocket nicely. I believe the Pixel 4a is also this size and from what I've seen people seem to love it for the same reason. If I were to buy a new iPhone today to replace my iPhone X it'd either be a 13 mini or the 14 Pro, everything else seems like a waste of time to me.
Personally I always thought the 5S was the sweet spot screen vs phone size. I’ve stuck ruthlessly to the standard sizes and ‘pro’ models (I use the cameras a heap) throughout several upgrades until recently upgrading to a 14 Pro Max a few weeks ago, basically just to ‘try’. Took maybe 3 days to adjust, and doing fancy things like video and photo editing is much nicer with a slightly bigger screen. The only real bummer is that pockets on backpacks etc that fit standard sized phones comfortably are now uncomfortably tight with the Max.
I always get the largest model available of a given phone, I have massive hands and I also enjoy having the largest screen possible for multimedia consumption
I loved this video!! ❤ I’m a fan of the smaller form factors as well, and I also resent the Plus for replacing the mini 😅 I would get a 13 mini asap if they weren’t so absurdly expensive in Germany 😢 (800€)
I went from a 7 to 13 mini last year and couldn’t be happier. Perfect size for one handed use, great camera, good enough battery, and all the newest features. Only time I ever wish it was bigger is when my fat fingers get in the way of typing.
I think it'd be reasonable if apple did that. SE and 12 Mini got the same chassis size, just the screen is bigger due to the removal of the physical home button. If they dont cancel the SE series as well, I see them being the net replacement for the Mini series, perhaps with a greatly cheaper pricepoint.
I bought the 13 mini just after hearing there wouldn’t be a 14 mini. When I tried it at the store, I remembered how I loved fidgeting with a phone in my hands. I still love it. I would only upgrade to be able to sell this one at a reasonable price and save something for the next.
Man I have the iPhone 14 plus and I’m really enjoying people say the phone sucks but the phone actually really good . Battery life is great I don’t have to charge my phone at all during the day and sometimes it usually goes into the next day also
As someone with an iPhone 14 Plus I really like it imo I know a lot of people don’t like it and I respect it but I’m legally blind and having a big phone like this is good for me so ya
Proud 12 mini owner who upgraded to a 13 mini for the battery life improvements. It’s still not great, but I love the size of this phone so much that I’ll stick with it as long as I can.
I have the 14 plus and I love it. I will tell you how I feel about it and why I got it. I had the money to get the pros but I said wait I had the iPhone 13 Pro Max. But I thought ok well I will just get the 14 plus. it’s the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but newer. It’s basically the same phone. Also the 14 plus is a lot lighter! The 13 pro max hurts my hands and wrists. So I love the battery life and the screen. Also it’s very fast! This is why I appreciate this phone better than the pros!
I remember when I upgraded from a galaxy S3 to a OnePlus 5T my thumb literally hurt for the first few weeks, as the screen was so much bigger. Now I'm used to big screen, but I see why you'd prefer a smaller phone. The whole top 1/3 of my OnePlus 8T is not reachable for me in single hand use
So I was watching older videos of Mac Address last night because I couldn't wait for the new video to come out. After watching this new video I realized how much the editing has improved. Not only that, it now has it's own unique style. Keep up guys, I love your videos.
I tried a 12 mini for a year and a half since I owned an SE gen 1 and really liked it. It was more of a nostalgia thing it turned out. It's just too small for video watching/social media/web browsing... or anything you'd use an iPhone for basically. I got a good deal on a 14 Pro and I'm so much happier with it!
I think the mini needed a couple years of being in the lineup for people to actually adopt it. The mini needs a mindset switch, because the main reason I like having a minis because I also usually have my tablet and therefore I only really need my phone for connectivity.
An iPhone mini with all the pro features except the high refresh rate and dynamic island would be lit. Just get tid of the plus and regular iPhone models.
The 12 mini is also my favorite. Compact size, no weird camera layout, no compromise to the spec. Though the battery is not fantastic (using 5G really kills the battery really fast), I think overall it's a suitable phone for me. It's a shame when they don't keep the mini series.
Yeah, I also wonder the same thing, whether the plus sales is worse than the mini series and if it did, would apple bring the mini back in the 15? I think a somehow more power efficient, less powerful chip combined with a slightly bigger battery (like what they did in the 13 mini) would probably a great idea for the next mini
Upgraded from the Xr to 13 mini The Xr was annoyingly cumbersome to use, but I lived with it because it wasn’t unbearable. Switching to the mini, I’ve been overjoyed with how much easier it is to physically interact with, but I still have moments that I need to use my other hand to reach a back button. Throughout iOS, this is pretty much solved by swiping from the left side of the screen, but not all apps support that. Personally, I find iPhone 5S to be the perfect size and design. The size is downright perfect, and the squared edges make the device very easy to grip. I’d love to see an iPhone with the exact form factor of the 5, but with the edge-to-edge screen and all the other features of modern iPhones, barring the camera. I can easily live with a simple camera. The one thing making that impossible is MagSafe. Apple’s MagSafe accessories are sized to fit the mini models perfectly, and I don’t think that it would even fit in a smaller casing without needing to redesign MagSafe altogether. So no MagSafe for iPhone Nano. As someone who loves MagSafe, this would be quite a big sacrifice to make. I would absolutely spring for a Nano model, but I fear that I’ll greatly regret losing MagSafe capabilities. Long story short, I hope that Apple continues the Mini lineup in some form, whether that be replacing the Plus models, or taking the mantle of the SE. The Mini is as close to perfect as it gets, with the only feature I want added being USB-C.
I love my 13 mini. When I upgrade, which with the end of the mini I’m not in a rush to do, it’ll probably be to whatever the Pro model that year is. I can handle a “standard” size iPhone. For all the good that’s come from the death of the Home Button, the Reachability feature has become a pain to try and use.
Just got a Xperia 5 IV and it's larger than my last phone. I also picked up an old iPhone SE recently and absolutely loved the size. That form factor with a bezeless screen, decent performance and I'd be all over it on the next upgrade
I’ve gone from a 4S to 6 Plus to a 7 to an 11. I have never looked back since getting the 7. That 6 Plus was too big for me. And whenever Apple finally adds that USB C port, I’ll be getting the normal sized version of that iPhone too. This normal sized 11 I’m typing on right now is almost the perfect size for me. My right hand can reach the control center almost without shifting my hand upwards. I still have to shift, but it’s not a lot to where it becomes a huge problem. The only way I could see myself getting a big phone again is when I become geriatric.
I loved my 12 mini, but I’ve since moved to a 14 Pro. The 6.1” screen isn’t as cumbersome as I was fearing it would be, but I do miss the 5.8” screens of the X/XS/11Pro devices
I love the 6.1” size. I think it’s perfect. I loved the Plus sized phones but the thick horsey bezels made it so hard to hold one handed. My 13 Pro is perfect. I’d never go to a Max.
I’m a lifetime Android phone user and picked up some used SE Gen 1 and Gen 2 out of curiosity. Man, I love how sleek either feels, even in comparison to my old Samsung S8+. Gosh it feels chunky. I’m a fan of small phones with big features. I hope to see more, but it might be hopeless.
Who knows? Maybe the SE 4th gen will probably adapt the mini’s form factor. I wasn’t wrong when the 10th gen iPad would go full screen so I might be right again💯
Two of my grandparents upgraded this cycle and were overjoyed to use the 14 Plus. I believe a lot of older people benefit from the larger size which makes easier to see but importantly increases touch target sizes.
Yeah and battery life is really good

Yeah you can't blindly accept those battery capacity percentages. They're just estimates and can easily be wrong.
My 11 Pro from launch is still at 93% battery health. I do not charge it wirelessly and do not play on it though.
So the best deal between up-to-date tech and form-factor seems currently really the pro-line without the max.
i also use the 13 mini and i love it so much. i would also go w the 14 pro if i HAD to
I'm exclusively (until now) an android user, but I decided to buy a 13 mini because it's the only phone on the market that's small enough for my hands and pockets! I had a Z flip, but they're too tall to use one-handed when unfolded for me, even though they're gorgeous.
I'm happy with the mini aside from the cameras compared to my previous Samsung phones
As a Pixel 4a user, I totally agree that there's not enough small phone options
Same. I'm going to stick with my 4a as long as I can (aka august 2023)
Pixel 5a user: I can't even reach the top of the screen without shifting my hand.
Yup. When i broke my 3a and I had to upgrade, the 7 and 7 pro were almost the same price as the 6a due to a promotion. But I couldn't get over the extra size and weight, so i went with the 6a (and it's still a bit too big for my taste)
Still have my 3a and wondering if it's worth upgrading to a 7. I don't want a 7pro because it's bigger lol
@@maaltagabriel my 6a does feel bigger and heavier than my 3a did, but not THAT much (especially compared to the 7 and 7 Pro)
As someone who got an Apple Watch because the Max was so big I didn't want to carry it all the time but founthe watch to be too useless, I think the mini might be the solution for me.
iPhone 12 mini 13 mini is rest peace now big daddy is came 14 plus I bought just 10 days ago 😅
👍exactly what they should do
I really like that idea. I know several people who insist on small form factor phones, and last years' model would usually be fine for those people.

Coming from a 5in size android to a iPhone 8 to a xs to a 13 pro max. I felt in love with the screen and battery life watching content on those smaller phones just didn’t cut it.

Never thought I’d find AD fans here. “There are dozens of us!! Dozens”
Omg I didn’t notice it at the beginning 😳 But what do you mean with the „shoe one“?
@@minminoppa46521:12
Yessss pleaseeee god
iPhone users are so happy they can repair back glass. That's like a feature to them. Was not available before lol.
The new SE is selling so poorly I have my doubts they’ll even do it again
Watch them do that but only give it 1 back camera 😐

i miss the 5.8” X/11. going from the X to 11 Pro Max was nice especially the battery, but the 5.8” was such a good combo of big screen and compact body, the 6.1 isn’t much smaller than the Plus and the mini is too small for me
100% agree. 5.8” is absolutely perfect
The iPhone 11 was 6.1”, just like the iPhone XR that preceded it. What you are thinking of is the 5.8” iPhone 11 Pro.
100%. My Xs was the perfect size.

This is my favorite video I’ve come across!
I switched from an S20 to the 13 mini earlier this year.
The regular models are too wide and bulky for my liking, even though my Samsung phone was a 6.1
Cons- not too much variety in phone cases
Pros- small, easy to fit in pockets, not heavy
My mom switched to iPhone this year too- she prefers bigger phones so yes, she got the 14 plus.
I remember when big phones first started coming out and thinking how ridiculously/unnecessarily huge they were. Then I got a 6 Plus, and I've never been able to go back to small screens since...I'll happily take a bigger screen over the convenience of a smaller form factor.
When "big phones" started to come out they were the size of iPhone mini (4.7" 16:9 is same width than 5.4"mini).
I love when Jonathan goes out in nature for his shoots. Definitely the most relaxing LMG videos.
I honestly love how different this is from all other LMG channels and meshes well with the content, thank you and keep it up!
FINALLY! I love my 12 mini, its the same feeling i had back in 5s times, powerfull device in a compact form :)
"Maybe they'll bring it back? I think I resent the 14 plus" I love this channel. Thanks for standing up for us mini lovers! I'm so bummed they got rid of it.
iPhone, 14+ is the biggest bust an iPhone history followed behind iPhone color
Hopefully they will make a 15 mini. Small phones are amazing

Literally watching this on my beloved 12 mini! This was a nice surprise.
I mean, i like the 12 mini but i would recommend everyone the 13 mini just for the batterie life
Yes, I agree.
Maybe we'll see an SE in a couple of years that is based on the mini?
completely agree. Had a 12 mini for a while and I loved it. I'm switching to a normal 13 because I kind of got tired of the smaller screen.
Just got the 13 mini. Great phone. I went from having to top up charge mid day on my old 7, to 2 day battery life. And the size is comparable.
basically same experience here. upgraded from 6s to 13 mini around 8 months ago and the increase in battery life was a stark contrast to having to charge my 6s multiple times a day. i love this thing and will hold onto it for as long as possible.
The video transitions were sweet!
I love the aesthetic of Mac Address, and I also LOVE that it's no distracting teleprompter!
I much prefer the larger screen. One of your biggest complaints was not being able to reach UI elements in the top of the screen, but the phone has “reachability”. Just swipe down at the bottom of the screen, and it temporarily slides the whole screen down.
Like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound
Try and do that 100 times a day
@@thomaslorinczi7477at this point just grow your hands man.. why would you want such a tiny iphone with a small battery..
Love the mini size. The mini would be a perfect fit for the iPhone SE 2023, but with USB C :)
i would literally pick that up immediately
Same here , switched from S20 to 13 mini
I’m not surprised by that at all. The 6s is my favorite. The size is perfect for me. I like Touch ID and It’s comfortable. I can do everything easily with one hand. I upgraded to the 14 Pro and I’m still somewhat regretting it. I should’ve gone with the SE or Mini. 😂 Well I gotta get used to it now as I won’t be upgrading again for many years to come.
I totally get you. I'm a bit worried about the future of compact one-handable phones after the announcement of the 13 mini being the last of it's kind.
android pretty much killed that kind with the samsung s10e.
Its still about the weight and hand fit. It’s not about the size of the screen, it’s about the ergonomics of holding and carrying giant bricks.
Agreed plus there’s the back gesture swiping on the left side of the screen to the right and the quick switch app gesture by swiping right or left the home bar.
Why doesn't apple put the back button on the bottom? Super poor design to put it in the hardest area to reach for right handed people
@@ghost-user559 14 plus is very lightweight
@@jarboer But my thumb can't reach the left side of the screen so I have to use my other hand which then defeats the whole purpose of one handing it.
I have a 13 mini and can’t see myself upgrading until they release another mini.
Totally on board with all of this. I just had an opportunity to get any phone and I explicitly chose the 13 mini over the newer models. I would prefer the shorter notch and purple option of the 12 mini, but the better battery, newer chip, and higher storage kept me from it.
Are you me? Last year I really wanted the purple 12 mini, but am glad I waited out to get the 13 for the better battery.
❤ I’m a fan of the smaller form factors as well, and I also resent the Plus for replacing the mini 😅
I would get a 13 mini asap if they weren’t so absurdly expensive in Germany 😢 (800€)
I am on a iPhone 12 Mini and love it. People make fun of me but I love it because I can type really fast for example and I can see everything so fast
1:10 weird audio quality issues? I know its outside but they have gotten good audio outside before
I went from a 7 to 13 mini last year and couldn’t be happier. Perfect size for one handed use, great camera, good enough battery, and all the newest features. Only time I ever wish it was bigger is when my fat fingers get in the way of typing.
I hope the next SE will have the 12 mini form factor
I think it'd be reasonable if apple did that.
SE and 12 Mini got the same chassis size, just the screen is bigger due to the removal of the physical home button.
If they dont cancel the SE series as well, I see them being the net replacement for the Mini series, perhaps with a greatly cheaper pricepoint.
I did wish they kept the mini and plus as main models, never been a fan of the pros due to weight and current camera bump
I bought the 13 mini just after hearing there wouldn’t be a 14 mini. When I tried it at the store, I remembered how I loved fidgeting with a phone in my hands. I still love it. I would only upgrade to be able to sell this one at a reasonable price and save something for the next.
12/13 Mini were amazing. Wife and sister both love them. Wife is worried about what to get next year when she wants to replace her phone.
I love the production and editing of Max address videos. Such a breath of fresh air.
I got the 14 plus because I wanted a bigger battery and a bigger screen for watching shows and playing games while on my commute
Honestly, I can't believe this channel and LTT exist in the same physical space. The videos are so different and wonderful.
Just like on OG SE, yeah.
Most of the iPhone users just go for the best one, that's why they've undersold the XR
As a iPhone 13mini user, I agree with all u said :p
I’ve small hands and I do love how much I can do with one hand.
Upgraded from the Xr to 13 mini
The Xr was annoyingly cumbersome to use, but I lived with it because it wasn’t unbearable.
Before I start watching, just want to give a massive shoutout to the thumbnail artist! Amazingly creative concept well executed!
i like how you r focusing on point that the other reviewers don't
Coming from many many Google pixels and now on an iPhone 13 mini, I love this phone and plan to stick with the mini as long as possible.
Zenfone 9 and Mi 12X should help a lot if you're not switching to iOS.
@@anetizen6404 Thanks so much for the recommendation!
Who knows? Maybe the SE 4th gen will probably adapt the mini’s form factor. I wasn’t wrong when the 10th gen iPad would go full screen so I might be right again💯
