Do you still have the Malone trailer? I'm looking for personal reviews of this particular model for my website. I am willing to pay for the review. Thanks Kevin
I tried modifying a utility trailer to pull my kayaks and I found they shook a lot which concerned me. I am guessing they shook because there was not enough weight in the trailer for the shocks to act properly? Does a proper trailer like this fix that issue?
+Dale Workman I've done a 100mph on the highway pulling a yak with my utility trailer...I bet your problem is with the wheels and alignment and not weight? Malones look like aluminum made so I bet this trailer may actually be lighter than the one you have??
+Mike Neubauer Yeah.........you keep towing a yak "at 100mph" and see what happens. Your gonna be doing that somewhere before too long, and a simple 20MPH CROSS WIND is going to give you a very real and sudden nightmare. What your doing is crazy, stupid and irresponsible. I have seen trailer loads a hell of a lot heavier than your rig get caught in a cross wind on the highway at only 70 mph that caused the trailer & its load to squirrel around and flip, sending debris flying everywhere as the thing disintegrated from being suddenly upside down against the pavement. Your gonna get some innocent people hurt or killed doing that stupid shit. Mark my word. And your damn lucky you haven't yet. ONLY HEAVY WEIGHT CAN STAND WINDS AT HIGH SPEEDS. ( Unless the trailer your using weighs 400lbs or more.......that would be different, but it's still stupid to tow that fast. You'll get nailed by a state trooper, and the ticket will be very expensive. Grow a brain and slow the fuck down.)
Cheapness isn't exactly something to vaunt. This trailer from Malone is likely much better built, and hopefully will outlast anything one can get from HF. Also, due to its low weight, it can be towed by basically anything, and should not impact the fuel economy of the vehicle hauling it quite as much.
That's a smart build and will haul a lot of gear :)
