Louis Armstrong. Satchmo. Ambassador Satch. The man who defined American jazz for more than 60 years with his trademark humour, virtuosity and sheer brilliance. The man who appeared in Hello Dolly and High Society, who played the theme music for the James Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Other jazz musicians wanted to be him; audiences idolised him. He is a true legend in the histry of music. And now James Morrison, our very own jazz virtuoso par excellence, pays tribute to this mightiest of jazzmen with some of Satchmo's greatest hits.

There are no words to describe a so talented musician! Trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar, bass, sax (and I probably missed something). Unbelievable. And I want to underline the excellent orchestration! Chapeau.
James Morrison is perpect. he can play well also jazz piano and classic. he can control any other music style. i respect him
Wow. James is best ambassador for Australia.
James you're an incredible musical genius!!! Are there any instruments you don't play magnificently!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Look up Autumn Leaves. He sings while playing the trombone ;)
Gotta love the perfect Louis Armstrong growl Emma does at 50:15!
Total consummate musician, one of the greats already.
James Morrison adds a new definition to "gifted musician" Indescribable
Never seen something like this indeed.
Totally agree
James Morrison un extraordinario músico, lástima que le guste tanto hablar!
Wonderful performance. Such talent! -And a brilliant transcription for orchestra. Unfortunate that the genius who wrote the orchestration is not in the credits.
Very good!!!
love the fun one-upmanship for the highest note between James and adrian at 2:25:55
sencillamente MAGISTRAL de otra GALAXIA
cok güzel bir konser, orada olmak ne güzel olurdu....İstanbul'dan

Magnifique !
Haha I still pinch myself I worked with Emma and James at a private event.............. Not only a hugely talented musician but a great funny kind man who encourages you to feel at ease and is just a nice human being.......... As for Emma Pask ??? Lets just say I'm glad I sang first, she was just knock out..... I found out later on that night after a chat with Emma that they had been working together for years, and it showed .......... Yip that pair produce magic all right............... It was the highlight of my 10 years singing, even if I did get my arse felt (Scotch for, taught a lesson) PS Mrs Morrison is a great woman too. Top family :-) xx
beautiful legend
Great story. Always good to hear good things about the people you admire--and learn some Scottish slang
Just plain magic. Together they make magic! James' trumpet sound is bigger than life!
The female vocalist stole my heart with the first note she sung!
James just blows you away whether it's on trumpet, trombone, reeds, or piano. A truly gifted person everyone is so lucky to see and hear him!!
amazing and wonderful
FANTASTIC
Magnificent
fantastic,thks.
lindo d++++
Wer kennt es nicht das Hornkonzert mit Gartenschlauch und Trichter.
An in-depth feeling of swing of just missing. I mean the blues--/Everything played very correct.
what is the type of guitars being used?
Fabulous both artists Fred Braverman
Apart from the trumpet player owing everything to Armstrong, he’s not in evidence anywhere else.
◼️◼️◼️◼️◼️ I give this 5 squares.
at 1:46:12 , the guitar is to loud so we cant really hear the bass solo :(
Why is it every time there's a female singer at a concert, almost every song they sing is at such moderate tempos, and they never really show that they can "Swing" at really up-tempo songs? Morrison mentions up-tempo, then they do "I'm Old-fashioned". Finally, they do such an over-done tune - - The Saints, as if they makes up up for all the other tunes, being so slow. Louie was a very "Hot" player (and vocalist), and the vocals, and most of the instrumentals, represented none of his heat.
What a pity profound musicality is compromised by the elementary, obvious and inane commentary of Ms. Bates. What was her contribution as the Program Manager? Agronomical, one would have thought.
Nice music, but hardly anything yo do with Louis Armstrong.
THESE people play like ROBOTS
Well, this IS a symphony orchestra, playing Pops, what do you expect? But despite that, this orchestra swings better than most pops orchestras in the US. There are some pretty good moments (and some goofy ones too) and Morrison can hold his own with any jazz trumpeter alive today.
Jon Lawry BS NO Soul in his PLAYING .IT is like elevator music when played by these people
Well, in my world SOUL is a subjective thing.
