Agreed!

I agree!
Thanks so much! After watching this I was able to clean my screen that had gotten some dust between the screen and cover. Now I will probably be able to sell it faster and know that the buyer is getting a more helpful screen! I appreciate this so much!
Wow, thanks for this video! This video convinced me to repair my old Canon Power Shot S5 IS. I will give my old travel companion a new life :). I wish you all the best from Poland.
Greg - you're always working on something interesting! Thanks for the tutorial on the camera repair.
I was convinced the repair would cost more than getting a new camera. Thanks!
Thank you for this. After watching I was able to clean the cover and LCD so I could see everything again. I am following you now.
I am so happy I found this . In my country they dont sell the replacement and they told me my camera was a old model I was unhappy. I found this video will buy the replacement online and fix it . Thanks a lot.
just broke my 700d's lcd today and hopefully found your video ! super helpful ! thanks !
Konstantin_one is your touch working?
That is great. I would not have thought you could get the replacement parts very easy and that inexpensive.
Thanks for sharing
It surprised me. I thought it was new camera time.
Good morning, I'm from Brazil. Thank you very much for posting this video. It will help a lot to repair my daughter's camera, model T6i. A big hug.
Did you have difficulty removing any screws from the screen?
Thank you so much. I DYI everything myself but for the price that I paid for a t7i definitely had to watch some videos first this made it so clear and cant believe these little screens are less than $30 bucks thought this was gonna cost me way more. I didn't even need the screen my issue is the ribbon came out a bit.
Did you have problems removing the bottom screw on the screen? Just before being able to pull it off..
Ive been fighting with it for so long. Cant seem to make it budge...
Any sugestions?
Is it easy to take off the ribbon and was it the white wire?
great video. only thing I would suggest is to repair the camera without the battery to avoid accidental shortcircuits
Kinda hard to find a video about replacing the screen but yours was great. It is an easy fix however, it's always nice to find some help. Thanks.
That's EXACTLY why I filmed the repair. It sounds WAY scarier than it is. Beats the heck out of sending it to Canon for an expensive repair.
Great Job! I have replaced screens on various thinks in the past! :) I have never done a camera one... mainly becauise I don't own a nice camera like this or I probably would have by now! :) It is so satisfying to fix things your self!
Chris
Agreed! Thanks Chris.
@@GregsGarage Nice Video!. Please advice the specific type of screwdriver that you use to remove the LCD cover.. Thanks..
Brilliant as I have broken my Cannon Legria HFR17 LCD screen.....and was at a loss what to do, so BIG thank you from Ray in the UK ...you know that small cold country that use to own the USA and one third of the world lol

Where did you get the replacement screen?
amazon. About $25
Nice job, Greg! I think I stopped breathing when I saw the thumbnail.
I stopped breathing when the camera fell... Then I said A LOT of adult words. Thankfully its fixed!
Thanks Greg for the tutorial. I have a 600D than needs a LCD replacement. I'm gonna start on it right away. :)
Great video! I did this but my camera wont turn on now. How could I troubleshoot?
Help ! Your video is motivating to just go and order the screen instead of taking it to the shop i have a nikon coolpix b700 ? Where can i find a screen .
I tried to do it. Your video is good, but I cant seem to take out a screw on the screen. Its just one that its making it impossible.
Im actually trying to switch between two T3i, and they both have that same screw really really tight...
Any sugestions to lossen it up?
Every other screw opened with out a problem.
A very big thanks for the video. my 650d is back to life! thank you very very very very very very much!!!
Hey Greg, the part where you're working hard to pry apart the adhesive-bound elements... that's looks scary. Knowing how tough that is, is there any tricks to that? Heat? Sharp Exacto knife? You wrestled with that longer than I believe I would have.
Now THAT "little man" made me laugh!!!!
Good!
Perfect! Thanks for sharing!
Hello. Thanks a lot for sharing your video^^ My new camera Canon EOS M50 has the same problem now. May you please advice to me which screen I should to buy for my camera model? Thank you an advance.
did you find a solution? I think I purchased the wrong size for my m50
Thanks for the video !
Pretty easy Greg.
No doubt Zig.
It is very hard to open after loosen the screws... how did you really do it?
Hello. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Do you guys know if the Canon 80D screen is the same as the 70D or the Rebel T3i?
I have a Canon Rebel T 3 love it.....nice to see yours is fixed...could they get the screws any smaller 😊
The rebel line is my favorite. And no, the screws are microscopic... Any smaller and they'd be dust.
It's old news I know. But what size or type of screwdriver did you use for the 4 hinge cover screws of your first screw removal? Also, I lost one and only have 3 of the 4. Where could I find a replacement?
Ali express
Very good! Thanks!
Sir please help me//////When the LCD is flipped out then its perfect but when I rotate and fix it back the camera then the menu screen appears vertically opposite...any help will be hearty welcome....

Dealing with glass shatter being stuck to the thine layer of adhesive between screen and plastic encasing. had to strip away all of the adhesive. What type of adhesive would you recommend?

Hi Greg, great fix and video. My 600D had a similar accident but the flip out screen has come completely apart from the camera!!!
Do you know where I might be able to get a replacement cable to join the screen back to the camera?
Kieran McPhillips Oh no!!! Canon might be the only place to get that part. Check Amazon, eBay and any other big on-line market place. They may surprise you and have the part.
I replaced my screen but nothing is displaying now.. it lights up but shows nothing..
Did you manage to fix this? Having the same problem now..
Nice fix job..
Thanks Mark.
Hey Greg, I have another question. After I unscrewed my LCD screen and took it out to see it, I screw everything back on as normal the screen lights up but doesn't work. All I see is black, do you have any idea whats wrong?
tetreotixx I suspect the ribbon cable is in wrong.
did you find a solution to your problem?? i have the same
I know this is an older video, but would this replacement fix screen vignetting? I only have a tiny circle of visibility left on my screen lol
I would suspect so, but I haven't seen that issue before
hey greg. i wonder what size of Phillip's screw driver you'er using for these screws on the sides. have the 1.4mm and it wont fit.
Does this work if the screen has gone black?
would this work for the canon rebel eos sl3? i have not been able to find an lcd for it anywhere online
job well done
Thanks Jim.
Way to save it Greg!!
Thanks.. Very Helpful...
Hi. Nice video. Can you tell me where could i find a lcd replacement? Do you think those 15-20$ chinese screens on ebay will do the job? And what kind of screwdriver did u use? Thx
+Vasi Pilca I got this replacement on amazon. I used a screwdriver out of an eyeglass repair kit.
thank so much! was really helpful.
Great fix.
good info!!!! thanks!!!
Hello! good video !, I have a problem, I just broke the union of the rotating screen with the body, I mean as if it had been separated, but both the touch screen, the screen and the rest of the camera works in perfect condition . Do you have any tips you can give me to solve the issue of the rotating screen? greetings from Argentina
I haven't seen a replacement part for that. You may be able to find another camera body for sale for parts.
I tried to change one screen to another T3i but I couldnt even get past the last screw on the metal plate...
It was so frustrating. Whats funny is that on both my t3i the exact same screw was impossible to unscrew.
I even tried oil and superglue but nothing. Its frustrating to see how easy it seems, but bucause of one little screw I get screwed :,v
The link to buy the replacement doesn’t work
Where did you buy your replacement screen?
All over eBay for around $25-30.
This happened to my SCHOOL CAMERA. I hope this helps me
Martin Garcia how much was repair?

Butter Fingers.....................................good job fixin like always

Help!... He did all this with no problem... But when He took it apart two of the little wires were also not connected... How can re re connect them....
nice how too......just a thought maybe a lolie stick or plastic tool to prize it apart next time and remove the battery
Agreed... I don't have the plastic tools, so I did the next best thing... Cram a screwdriver in it... I need to get some specialty tools for electronicals.
how much for the screen?
Same process for a Canon 80D?
My 60D was the same. I would assume all of these are pretty much the same. I used iFixit for a step-by-step.
cool fix
What tools are you using the screws are really small
technical screw drivers.
Hey Greg, where did you purchase the screen?
tetreotixx amazon
what is the part called that he removes from the LCD at 2:15?? I'm trying to replace that part but I cannot find that whole part.
outer glass??
Hi there- I followed this guide, and after putting the LCD screen in it will not turn on. Have you any suggestions?
Make sure the ribbon cable is in correctly.
Would anyone know a reliable seller for the LCD screen replacement for an eos 800D camera?
Great fix-it video.... hope I won't need to use the knowledge gained any time soon though ;-)
I hope you don't either Greg.
That was easier than I thought.
Me too. Surprising how simple some of this "high tech" stuff is.
Can anyone comment about the quality of that LCD?
Nice
I have dust inside screen visible when its off
Hi I opened and tried plug-in cable ribbon but there is no image. I broke my working camera 😢 can you guide me
This happened to me. Did you fix it?
No luck yet@@brendanmaher8267
you made that look easy...
It was. 15 minutes start to finish... And that includes recording it.
Hi! just followed your instructions. When i turn on the device the lcd lights up but nothing appears display. any ideas?
THe same here.... did you solve?
the technician said that the lcd replacement i bought was not the problem but the flex cable. maybe becuase of the imptact when it fell.
@@royalblood2867did you replace the flex cable? Where to buy it from?
Mine broke but my plastic flip out broke as well
Nice fix, much less $$ then a new camera.
Nice fix and nice video!
Now the questions.
How many cuss words were edited out?
How many beers were drunk during the repair?
How many screws were lost?
How much time did it actually take?
Actually you don't have to answer the questions. It may be more fun to leave it to our individual minds to consider. LOL!
LOL!!! Too many 4 letter words to count (this was the second time I dropped my camera this month and broke something.) 0 beers (can't drink them any more ARG!) I dropped 1 screw. Thank goodness I swept the floor last weekend or I would have never found it in the saw dust. It took right around 15 minutes start to finish. I couldn't believe it myself.
