Really? For the sarcophagus I just switch to a bomber plane and stay at top. Less ghosts spawn there, and it's easyer to dodge the eyeballs. Because the boss moves up and down I just go forward and back up top to get the most hits on him. This strategy is much more quick and easyer than what he said, aleast to me.
That is for sure the best strat for that part. I stand still and hold down shoot, the ghosts all die and the orbs never touch me. Its actually I think the easiest segment in the entire game, althougth the rest of the boss is difficult.
A quick fyi! For the puppet stage, before he fires, you can ACTUALLY go behind the line of bullets coming out from his finger vertically. The bullets he fires can never hit you during this time and you can UNLEASH THE PAIN (Ironically the puppet was the easiest phase for me due to this trick) thank me later ;)
Everyone is talking about how hard Grim and Dr. kahls robot is but I HATE THIS GUY WITH A BURNING PASSION. Was definitely the hardest boss for me personally.
for me this level was the 3rd hardest boss in world 2 for me, kahl was kinda hard but not too bad, but OH MY LORD GRIM MATCHSTICK IS SO TOTALLY BY FAR THE HARDEST BOSS IVE FACED IN ANY GAME
For the jewels, I'd recommend moving up and down and shrinking a lot for it, focus on the spaces with lesser jewels and focus on which direction they're moving at you. This will help you at least dodge some of them

Actually I find the jewels very doable. Just stay around the back, don't move too much and when somethings flying at you, move (obviously). I found that the treasure doesn't actually come straight for you particularly often, so staying somewhat still helps. I actually struggled on the sarcophagus stage the most cause i hadn't figured out how to dodge the eyeballs lol. Great tip!

I’m glad I found your channel because I’ve been playing Cuphead for a good 6 days since I bought it and I have been dying almost over 1,000 times altogether. It’s just been like the musical “Hamilton” where once you get into the boss battle it starts to get serious like I’m talking “laughing on the inside when really you’re dead inside” serious.
Probably Easy if I didn’t lose health from the 1st phase (If you are unlucky enough to get the jewels) and have to dodge the spinning blades in the 2nd phase then The puppet would probably be Easy but thanks to the other phases it’s easy to lose enough health before fighting The Puppet that makes The Puppet Hard.
Sadly i know that. Trust me i'm flawless at this whole fight, however i can not beat it with all my lives because of the jewels. I always lose one of them, and they keep coming until you dps the boss down so small plane is not a option because your range is limited and hard resetting for other mechanics is tiresome because with my luck i get jewels unless i reset 100+ times. Feels bad man. I want my 100% on this one like the rest.
Swords are sometimes hard too - if he summons the swords to the bottom first, and then becomes a smoke head flying at you, then it'd be pretty risky. The jewels r sometimes pretty easy. The strategy here is to stay on the left side, and only move up and down to make sure that there's a gap for you to go thru (very Touhou-ish), just like Wally, except you have to move to the right sometimes, thats the thing
It's not true that you're screwed if you get the jewels treasure chest in the first phase. You can turn into the little airplane, then fly (moderately fast) all the way around Djimmi on the right side to avoid the jewels without getting hit by Djimmi. This will help you avoid getting hit by the jewels.
It took me lots of years to beat Djimmi the Great. He was really hard the first time I fought him, and still is. The level was hard, because you're in an airplane, with only two weapons! His first phase is a mixed bag. He can be easy if he spawns treasure or swords from a treasure chest, but hard if he spawns cats. His second phase is quite easy, since you shoot the pillars that have his face on it, while avoiding buzzsaws. His third phase is easy/challenging, because I always go for the bombs while fighting the sarcophagus. The fourth phase is kind of hard, but I luckily dodged Cuppet's bullets. On the fifth and final phase, I kept shooting him while dodging the Illuminati's beams. When I defeated Djimmi for the very first time, I got an A+, since I got really lucky on dodging his attacks a lot! This guide made the fight easier!
I always get hit by the spinning blades so when I finish I have one life, and then when I beat the sarcophagus I just get finished off by the mugman Puppet
Idea Lab Try waiting for the saws go to another place, or shrink between the saw and the pillar. Worked for me (Sorry if my english is bad, i'm from Brazil)
What I recommend for the jewels try going behind Djimmi and making a full circle, coming back and attacking him. It can be time consuming but it is likely to boost your chances of victory.
Another way (and a quicker one) to get through the sarcophagus phase is to stay on the top and use the bombs and move down to dodge the eyes when necessary
GoldTarrGaming or find the sweet spot up top where the eyes never reach and you can easily bomb the ghosts. The eyes can't reach when your closer to the coffin
Just beat this one. Was at it quite a while last night and this afternoon. When I get the jewels, I go all the way to the left side of the screen, about 2/3 of the way up. As soon as you get there, go the rest of the way up, then turn back down towards the bottom. The jewels will follow you. If you're lucky, instead of a solid line of jewels, there will be a gap that you can slip through. Immediately turn back up towards the top and look for another gap. The sweeping up and down movements will spread the jewels out, and you'll have a chance. After one up and down cycle, the jewels will be almost empty and you won't have to dodge too many the last time. Good luck.
The sarcophagus one is pretty simple if you find the blind spot. You can stick to the top right corner right beside the coffin and drop missiles from there. The main concern here would be the ghosts which will be relatively easy to dodge from here. Your Welcome.
If you shrink at 1:17 while hes scanning you, you skip the bullet hell puppet phase and go straight to the final phase. Saved me a lot of trouble, but it is harder than the regular final phase
for people watching this 4 years later for some reason If you struggle really bad on the puppet phase when the genie does the weird circle things before the boss pops up you can go small and skip the phase, it makes it harder to kill the final boss and the puppet shoots little projectiles but it can help if you really suck at the puppet
Tbh, yall may be wondering why it looks so easy and how hes doing it. Hes played cuphead and finished it before, when you finish it you get WAYYYY better then before
Loved the vid, but there are a few flaws In the second phase you could use the second plane weapon which is a bomb to eliminate the pillars in one shot And in the 3rd phase you could use the bombs again and stick to the top . This will also make it easier to dodge the eyes and it hits any ghosts in the way
For the sarcophagus stage I found that you can also stay as far up as possible and just bomb, horizontally you have to stay just to the right of where the word “interest” is at 1:17

Fun Fact: Before the puppet comes on screen when Djimmy "copies you" if you go small he will make a small puppet of you and jump to the giant face with pyramids with the small puppet at the centre firing a single small projectile in a clockwise motion.
Found a hack on the sarcophagus phase: In the middle of the screen, there is a pyramid. Go directly above the tip of the pyramid, all the way to the top of the screen, then just a hair to the right. Switch your weapon to bombs and hold down the fire button. The crisscross things won't be able to reach you, the ghosts/mummies will be blasted before they can reach you, and you'll pummel the sarcophagus guy mercilessly. It'll be over quick.
This was the most easiest boss, i know a lot of people will disagree but then all the strategies i developed to fight this boss worked. And it was real fun.
for the sarcophagus phase, just switch to bombs and stay right on top of the pyramid in the background but to the right a little bit. Stay there, keep holding your firing key and enjoy the visuals! You'll never get hit once
You helped me defeat the clown along with a comment, I used roundabout and spread for it, and I killed the genie with the help of you and the comments, mainly the one hint to go to the top on the sarcophagus stage and launch bombs, it was easy when I did that
The jewels I found were the easiest since I could just stay up for a while shrink in an opening going down and stay there for a little while. The cats were the hardest cuz there were some kitties outside the screen, and they spread too far out for me.
I haven’t beaten this level yet but I’ve gotten good at the first 3 parts up until the puppet. 1. If you get the jewels, just restart. Swords are the easiest 2. The blocks with the faces are the ones you can hit (it took me forever to realize this!) 3. change your weapon to the bomb drop and stay close to hit it as much as possible. It’ll go down in like 30 seconds Stuck at the damn puppet though!!
Yeah The Puppet is hard my suggestion for The Puppet is use your powers up if you saved any observe and absorb the pink bullets he fires and shrink when the The Genies Hat shoots too and when The Puppet is defeated just avoid The Genie’s Hat when it moves off screen.

Keep in mind that, if you go the secret route, staying between the orbiting planets doesn't quite work as the mini puppet occupies that spot.

in simple mode the eyeballs never bounce far wide apart, so you die every time if you sit in back waiting for them... it's harder than regular mode

if you get the treasure chest beginning you can switch between small and large and just rotate in a circle going behind the genie..

Also, for the sarcophagus, if you go top middle and use bombs you can always hit him and have to barely move out of the way for the planets.

You can just restart the level until you don’t get the jewels. It is the first phase after all, you’re not throwing away a lot of progress
What I do on the third stage is just go to the top part of the screen, slightly right to the middle, and keep bombing him. 95% of the time this works

Yeah The Puppet is hard my suggestion for The Puppet is use your powers up if you saved any observe and absorb the pink bullets he fires and shrink when the The Genies Hat shoots too and when The Puppet is defeated just avoid The Genie’s Hat when it moves off screen.
