- Trying to S Rank Djimmi the Great in Cuphead? He's a real pain in the behind if you don't know what you're doing.
To be honest, Djimmi isn't one of my favourites. I like the fact that he's a genie and he has that whole egyptian aesthetic, which is nice, but there are way better bosses in Cuphead. A big part of why he's so frustrating isn't he isn't that hard, but he has SO many phases! It's an endurance slog not unlike King Dice. And that stupid stupid Cuppet phase.
I'm on a journey to show you how to (hopefully) S Rank every boss in Cuphead. Let me know in the comments who I should do next!

I've formulated a strategy for the last phase. If you get enough time and foresee the eye opening, go small, and into the top left corner, keep both buttons pressed and it won't hit you.

If you struggling with getting damage in and getting a time that s like 10 or 15 seconds longer then heres some tips:
Never seek to use bombs outside of phase 3 or phase 2 because the Machine gun has higher DPS.
In the first and fourth phase, hit as many parries as possible to get as many Supers as possible.
For Damage,Consider coffee for more supers, Or if your confident in yours abilities use whetstone for the 4th and 5th phases,For phase 4 you'll have some small opportunities to get the cuppet with whetstone, for phase 5, you can really destroy him with whetstone by going to the bottom of the screen and as close to Djimmi as possible,if you're also machine gunning at the same time, he'll likely die before he can shoot a head beam. Or just use devine relic.
İf you have 4 hp I recommend doing the glitch where he reads your mind when you're small, but the second he stops reading it turn big again. İt makes the little cuppet bug and not activate and you save time + it is easier and you skip a whole phase.

I remember once trying to A+ dis boi, not even S rank. And it still took me like half a day. I didn't complete world 2 while I was trying to A+ him, so I was a bit no-skill.
It's just... Not that fun! I really don't like Isle 2 as much as 1 and 3

I'm think the reason why this fight takes a long time to finish is because of the totem part. While the amount of totems isn't particularly that much (so it shouldn't be that difficult to get past it as long as you avoid the saw blades), there isn't a way to control the auto-scroll speed to make this part go by faster.
That's just my theory.
Yes! I beat him with an S! I think the problem was that I was using the twin heart charm, which reduces damage.
But when I tried him with Smoke Bomb, obviously the damage wasn't reduced and I beat the timer with 02:02!
I've officially S ranked all PLANE levels.
Oh wait. There still ONE plane level I need to do with an S. Oh no. SAVE ME!

for the 2nd phase I always just stay tiny and have the bomb equipped so when I get to a face I have to destroy, I quickly become large, shoot, and become small again
Oh also the mummy in the third phase is high off of scarabs.

in the sarcophagus phase, I have a super easy strategy that gets past it without losing health. Just go up to top right, as close as you can get without taking damage, then hold down bomb.

Nice job! Absolutely love this game! Just trying to get S ranks while waiting for DLC to drop. I found using the bombs on the pillars with the faces is really helpful-you don’t have to aim and you’ll just blast them away. Thanks for the video!

Happened to me as well sometimes! No idea why or what causes it
The time limit is 2:10, not 2:00 minutes. Many people commit the mistake of thinking it's 2 minutes

You click the retry button so you can change which attack you get in the first phase
Honestly i didn't watch this to s rank, I just needed tips because Djimmi on expert is the only thing between me and 300% c uphead, I even beet kahl in 5 minutes, but I have used over an half hour on Djimmi

I feel like this boss isn't hard but just way too long, i got a time of 1:54 for my S rank and i was trying to speedrun through the boss.

actually cat is ez because you can dogde it by going behind the djimmi (make sure you are small plane) and come back and damage djimmi it really helps for me
Yeah but the reason S rank is hard is because of time, if you’re not constantly damaging him, you won’t get the win in under 2 minutes
Cats are actually pretty easy when you figure out you can go mini and go behind the boss to dodge
That makes it a lot better but you can’t to that when you S rank because that wastes too much time
I just s-ranked this boss and if i could skip any phase of this boss, i would have chosen yhe second one EASILY
Honestly I just zoned out and got it in like 5 attempts. Genuinely not sure how that happend.
I got 2:04, but still got S-rank. I was really surprised, and I think it was a glitch, but I'm not complaining.
As long as you're below 2:09 it still counts!
I think all that pot Jimmy is smoking is literally turning him into jelly, which explains the third phase. Or it could be something random that the developers threw in there.
This is the one flaw in a near perfect game

dude i literally played this boss on regular and i get to the phase where he turns into cuphead and i cant beat him when the hat is too fast and the bullets go 200000000 billion miles per hour

I get every pary, and always use rockets. And my time was 2:07! With Coffee!

This Jackass of a Boss is fucking hard to properly navigate for it's second phase ESPECIALLY on the Nintendo Switch, like what the hell-
Im actually the opposite-im best at the cats. You can actually go behind djimmi, so whenever im in trouble, I just go back there and all the way around him. Not only does it make it easier to dodge, but it will also let you bait a cat into the far right of the screen, where it is infinitely easier to dodge.
I think I managed to do it literally the exact same as you and got the same amount of time lol
okay i dont know if anyone will read this, I CLEARED THIS AT 2:09ish SO if you have everything else perfect absolutely perfect you dont have to hit the yellow time. I hope this helps and that still means you gotta do this gg ez no skuff no damage

Something weird happened. So basically whenever you do the secret boss like the mini puppet cuphead and while I was attacking it I died and the progression bar had a question mark. like waaaaat?

Have any good advice for the first stage?
Hope you get swords or treasure. Treasure is easy as long as you move around a lot. The gaps can be pretty wide and you can get lots of parries in. Swords are also incredibly easy. Ideally you want to get one super in before he exits the first stage cause that shortens both this phase and phase 3.
I spent 2 hrs on the sugar queen lol and 20 mins on this!!!!! I love this game but it’s hard

Djimmi isn't actually all that bad. It was the fuckwad Wally that I had all the problems with. I really don't see what's the big fuss about Djimmi.
Yeah, I agree with that. Djimmi is petty easy for me on Expert, unlike Wally and Cala Maria.

What charm did you use?
I tried using both the double hearts and the coffee, and I always make it, but I always get +2 minutes, so I ALWAYS get an A+.
Is it because I use lots of missiles? Should I only use the bullets like you did?
Only use the missiles when he's in the coffin! Otherwise bullets do more damage overall. Coffee or smoke bomb is what I use!

@@emanuelemaggio6319 Nope! It turns you invisible for a split second when going small - I like using it to help dodge projectiles on harder bosses

seriously... Jimmy the dick was harder than the robot or king dice... I don´t know why it was so hard to me get the S rank with him... When i was a noob in this game, i loved him. Cause, for me, was so easy the final phase, that it took me 6 attempts to make a knockout ... Expert took me 3 attempts... and S grade took me *5 HOURS* i didn´t die a lot, cause i had to press the retry button... again and again... the real trouble were the wall phase and the cuphead pinoccho... I hate the cuphead pinocchio. The final phase is not that hard if you don´t get nervous...
Yeah I agree. Most of my deaths come from the Cuphead puppet and any deaths from the last phase are because Im so nervous that I'm so close to beating it. He's a brutal boss

Djimmi and beppi the clown last phase are stressful for beginner but eventually u will get how they attack

One strategy I used was in the cuppet phase I'd use my ex super and go around the cuppet to the turban goes behind the cuppet and I wouldn't have to worry about the turban cause it would take like 2-3 moves to keep up after that
