This game is PURE nostalgia. Besides club penguin this was my favorite online game. The art style is awesome and when I tell you I would just sit idle and listen to the soundtrack. Despite it being a walking advertisement it never once felt like that as a kid. I’m so happy the Christmas train and village was mentioned because that felt so magical when I was little. Words cannot describe how much I still love this game.
im surprised no other big company has made another online game like this. there is so much nostalgia they could tap into. bearville and club penguin players alike would swarm to visit something new
I think the era of online virtual worlds are unfortunately over. I think if you were to see any craze it would probably come through apps and not web browsers.
I’m so bitter they did away with this game. My parents spent so so so much money on it and I had built up so much. I had nearly every in game item and almost the max amount of currency . I’m 24 and am still upset over it

I literally played this game from 2008 to the day it died. I always get super nostalgic for it around Christmas time because of the north pole. Thanks for bringing back some great memories, and pointing out all of the corny yet beautiful bear puns!
The thought of Bearville rewritten has me in tears. I remember being logged on the last day of Bearville available and wishing I was rich enough to buy Bearville from them to keep it alive. For years I mourned it being discontinued. This means so much to me and I'm so excited to play again . This was such a positive part of my childhood.
This video truly brought me back to my childhood, lots of old memories I didn't realize I still had. Those songs from the soundtrack unlocked something in the deep recesses of my mind 😭

I absolutely loved Bearville!! It was my whole life back then. I didn’t have any friends at school and I was heavily anxious and depressed. Coming home from a horrible day at school and living a second life on Bearville is what got me through those years. I got to be a completely different person, I had so many amazing friends on there. I’ve even reunited with a friend from Bearville recently! 🥰 I loved it so so much and I’m really excited for Bearville Rewritten to come out - their arcade app is amazing! 😍 P.S. I was SandyDivaBear11 just in case anyone remembers me 😝😝

this was my formative game, all my friends played club penguin and I always tell them how extensive the BABW world and game really was! it’s insane how large the map was and how much events they had too

I was so sad when Bearville shut down. I had a thriving garden and my heart broke that I couldn't tend to my virtual garden anymore😂😭 this brought back so many good memories.
Bearville was my escapism home away from home in the afternoons of grade school heck. I had two furry friends{Hi Tori and Carly} and every summer and Christmas were the best times to go on Bearville because in the summer, that meant Camp Happy Heart and every summer, my team would always be in 2nd place. And then there was Christmas. Where you could took a magical train to see Santa and drink hot cocoa. I worked at the Cafe every day after school and I would work at Santa’s cafe every winter. The Soundtrack was lit though! I’m super excited for Bearville Rewritten. It’s gonna be so much fun and nostalgic.

Well done video! I do want to point out however the Rewritten website has a soundtrack download of the music in higher quality than what’s featured in the RUclips link in the description, however it also doesn’t have the Christmas music since it’s missing in it’s HQ form. Either way however, major applause! I completely forgot about Bearville until a few months ago!
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this video after watching a tiktok vid on nostalgic virtual world games that included Build-A-Bear- which we 90’s kids used to play in the mid 2000’s. I loved this website so much as a 13 yr old & this video just made me miss it even more! I’m still quite upset that it’s gone. I don’t think i’ll ever get over it. 😩 Anyway, I will be writing a lengthy comment on why this game means the world to me, so feel free to read along for those who are interested. 😌 I was 13 then & still living in the Philippines when I first knew about this game. I believe it was fairly new then as I remembered the graphics were a lot more cartoon-y & they only had few places smaller to explore than the latter years after. And because it was fairly new, I rmb I was able to get a code for free to bring a bear online! Can’t rmb exactly how I was able to get it, but I did. I have that code memorized to this day! That’s how grateful I was of it! Lol! You see, there wasn’t any actual Build-A-Bear store in my country then (never have till now), so have a bear meant I could be a part of that world. I was able to make friends from around the world and as a kid who’s always loved culture and making friends, it was definitely the highlight of my early teenage years! I was able to meet good friends from there whom I was able to connect and chatted on MSN on one of those chat boxes! (Again, another nostalgic moment for me!) Honestly, my build-a-bear friends have definitely helped improved my English so much so that when I moved here in Canada, I was not put in ESL cuz my English was impressive! And I have my build-a-bear friends from the US to thank for that-wherever you guys are at now. 😅 To this day, I still think about all my build-a-bearville friends & feel nostalgic and emotional at all the places u showed in the video, as those were the places we used to hung out at. I miss them, I miss our meet-up places and the music that I associate those hang out’s with. I miss them all! I’m 28 now but I still wonder about those friends and where they’re at now with their lives. I certainly do wish you are navigating adulthood okay. 😅 And while i’m at it, I should drop down my character name- in case my build-a-bearville friends sees this. I’m AbbyPhotoBear. Oh my god, this game was my childhood and introduction to one of my obsessions (that still remains). I was so obsessed with Build-A-Bear growinng up. I still sleep with Spooks, who is a Pumpkin Fun Kitty I got in NYC back in 2008. I also became friends with an author called Shea megale who I found out about The Chloe Show. Her debut novel, This Is Not A love Scene, is one of my favourite books. She's also just an awesome person :) I feel so nostalgic for this game and the music and just everything omg. Oh this video warmed my heart so much ❤ I heavily missed this game, I played it till I was in middle school. Seeing old videos of it brings a wave of nostalgia upon me that nothing else can. I have some old screen grabs about a year before shut down of my character and I wish I would’ve taken more. Some of the most fond days of my childhood were logging into this website on the home computer for the summer camp, christmas, carnival, and the halloween haunted house events. this unlocked so many memories. i was on club penguin, animal jam, movie star planet, moshi monsters etc as a kid and this one too. for some reason i don’t remember it as clearly as the others and i also remember the servers being weirdly empty. i loved the mini games tho and decorating my house. wish i could log back in
I hope the remake will add a bunch of the stuff that the original game had, and I am literally perplexed on how getting different bears would work, like I'm imagining them making a whole website where if you just click on a bear it will just pop into the game and give you the code without doing anything as they are not Build-A-Bear themselves. I am quite excited!

There was also a 9+ year old mobile game called bear valley and the comments on the old trailer are pretty much full of people who grew up with that game, and some folks somehow got it on old IPads, I remember playing it on my mom’s IPhone 6… ah memories…

For someone who played this game for a total of four years until the very last day of when it shut down, I remember making hundreds of friends as a 13 year old, me and my friends would just hang out and talk, it’s Nostalgic that you’ve made this video, I want to mention does anyone remember hanging out in the build-a-bear workshop where you would trade rare items like the bunny glasses and everyone wanted them? And also that’s where the “popular,” people liked to hang out. We would also role-play in secret rooms and dress up in costumes. I remember having a pogo-stick and scooter ride and three bears. Old times

As of November 12, 2023 Bearville Rewritten was forced to shutdown due to a DMCA notice from BABW Inc. Retail Management. Basically saying if they continued with the project they would be facing a copyright lawsuit😭😢 So sad😞
I can honestly say I remember my username and even the password to my Bearville account. I had so many furry friends too. 😅 I'm so excited about Bearville Rewrittten though. I have my own child now and it would be awesome to share a game that I played for years in my childhood! I even own the wii game still, as well my webkinz and my webkinz account. 🤷🏼♀️ I would love to see club penguin remade one day as well

I remember this game, When I was younger. My sister and I (also a few friends we both know at the time) would play it together both before school and after school. When the game shut down, I was a freshman in high school at the time and when I heard it shut down. I felt so bummed out and I kinda missed the game a whole lot. (I remember having a grey cat named Cookie which I unfortunately don’t have her anymore but I do have some other build a bears currently like being a Piplup, Teddiursa, and a brown bear with a Harry Potter Hufflepuff cloak named Oak)
I remember when I was little I would play this nonstop. Then when I started middleschool I stopped playing. Eventually I wanted to play the game for a nostalgia trip only to find it was gone
My siblings and I all played Bearville, and we would get almost feral over Camp Happy Heart, LOL! We'd usually end up on different teams, so the competition was fierce. XD Ahhh, good times!!! :D

I used to go to my neighbors house and we would play this everyday. This was around 2008/2009. We even had special membership because we had the bears 🧸 from the store.we also had club penguin 🐧 and zwinky accounts.

this unlocked so many memories. i was on club penguin, animal jam, movie star planet, moshi monsters etc as a kid and this one too. for some reason i don’t remember it as clearly as the others and i also remember the servers being weirdly empty. i loved the mini games tho and decorating my house. wish i could log back in

I hope the remake will add a bunch of the stuff that the original game had, and I am literally perplexed on how getting different bears would work, like I'm imagining them making a whole website where if you just click on a bear it will just pop into the game and give you the code without doing anything as they are not Build-A-Bear themselves.

For someone who played this game for a total of four years until the very last day of when it shut down, I remember making hundreds of friends as a 13 year old, me and my friends would just hang out and talk, it’s Nostalgic that you’ve made this video,
I want to mention does anyone remember hanging out in the build-a-bear workshop where you would trade rare items like the bunny glasses and everyone wanted them? And also that’s where the “popular,” people liked to hang out. We would also role-play in secret rooms and dress up in costumes. I remember having a pogo-stick and scooter ride and three bears. Old times
I just remembered about the pogo stick. That was a long lost memory, I think I had one too

As of November 12, 2023 Bearville Rewritten was forced to shutdown due to a DMCA notice from BABW Inc. Retail Management. Basically saying if they continued with the project they would be facing a copyright lawsuit😭😢 So sad😞

I used to spend so much of my time on this game when I was younger. There was a lot to it, such an underrated game.
I remember this game,
When I was younger. My sister and I (also a few friends we both know at the time) would play it together both before school and after school. When the game shut down, I was a freshman in high school at the time and when I heard it shut down. I felt so bummed out and I kinda missed the game a whole lot. (I remember having a grey cat named Cookie which I unfortunately don’t have her anymore but I do have some other build a bears currently like being a Piplup, Teddiursa, and a brown bear with a Harry Potter Hufflepuff cloak named Oak)
