- In this video I talk about the most affordable smartphone that was recently announced by Nokia Mobile, the Nokia C31. This entry level, affordable smartphone comes with plenty of smarts but not without its own set of compromises in order to achieve a $130 starting price. The Nokia C31 comes with a 6.7" Display, a 5050 mAh battery, a 13Mp main camera and ships with stock Android 12 out of the box. It's aimed at first-time smartphone buyers looking to upgrade from a feature phone.

It’s not a phone that me or you would really be interested in, but it’s not aimed at us to be fair. An easy way to speed up the phone a little is to switch off animations and change navigation to manual controls from gestures. But you already knew that lol. Brief but informative video. And i surprised it has the Google camera app. That’s really good. Till the next video✌️
You can improve the performance even further by setting the "Background process limit" to 4 in developer settings.
That helped massively on my Nokia 5.3

So, I just wanted to ask, SHOULD I buy this for myself if I were say, on a Budget or needed to buy it for a child (which I do not have), so what sort of person would this belong to, as in regarding age?
@@TangibleCheeseavoid any Nokia devices, these days , Oppo, Vivo, Samsung offers more than that and besides nostalgia, Nokia doesn't offer anything serious.
Buy a blackview A52 instead, infinitely cheaper, same sc9863a1 chipset, same android 12 go edition, better screen quality with saturated colors but you get a USB C port instead of the dreaded micro USB that Nokia offers.

I kinda agree that this is decent phone for those transitioning from a feature phone. It can handle social media and messaging apps just fine. Also the price is not bad too.
I like your review of Nokia C31. Nokia C31 has biggee display, bigger RAM 4 GB, bigger ROM 64 GB, bigger size and finger print scanner at rear aa well. I plan to buy this smartphone.

For what it is this phone is pretty good. As you said, maybe for younger/first time or older consumers this is just the right entry device. Or maybe as a secondary travel device if you don't want to risk your more expensive daily driver when abroad. Or it can be a really good alternative for someone on a very tight budget who doesn't want a feature or "dumb" phone only but a basic phone with some smartphone capabilities. There seems to be somekind of negative fixation and derision of phone like these. For many this is a good option to have.

Because I know them…aka family and friends! Same for SOME parents who may not want to buy their younger children a $1,000 dollar IPhone, so they get them this cheaper alternative instead. Not everyone can afford flagship devices either. This at least is an affords choice. Clear enough?
i dont agree with that older people and kids need at least a mid range phone these entry phones is aimed for low budget consumers but also i would not recomend this phone theres other better options in the same price that comes with better hardware if this phone comes wih processor from mediatek or qualcom i would recomended it

Shots from C31 Google camera looks lot better than the 50mp camera in G21. G21 also misses out on compass sensor. 🤔 There are not many differences between the two.

This should be a Android Go Edition phone like the C21 and C30 and use either T606 or T610. I have a secondary phone a Realme C30 2/32gb Android Go with T612 fast and smooth no need to download lite version of apps. Faster than phones on 150 usd price range with Helio G35 or P35 and as good as phones with Helio G70/G80. Used to have Nokia 1 and Nokia 2.1 as 2nd phones too. Missing only the FM Radio on Realme.
well for a change l have a good comments to make...and that is as a lot of Samsung phones seem to have a battery problem of blowing up as discussed by another youtuber who keeps a lot of phones in a controlled environment at least Nokia doesn't have this problem which has changed my mind of them ...there you go .. 👍
One thing that doesn't get talked about often is that Nokia uses Li-Po batteries instead of Li-Ion, which are pretty rare to find at this price

C31 is not a good phone in rich countries, but in Africa it is a "real smartphone" in and out. And please do a full review for us 🙏

Priced similarly to Nokia 3.4 but the 3.4 had USB type C and SD 460, 11nm chipset...
Nokia sell his Software, not Hardware. 😃 since C31 its an Android 12, its better.

I have a dilemma : I have to buy a new phone since XR20 went out , I keep my phone Nokia 7.1 but still I have to change it : between X30 ( best but does not have headphones) and G 60 ( less capacity) . The only thing I do not like of X30 is no headphones and the price. What do you advice me??

I hope Nokia will extend the years for the software updates support like eight years because smartphones are not cheap. If Nokia will do it, everyone will have Nokia phones again. The other downside is that Android software is glitchy and slow.

Looks like HMD has departed from android go on newer C series. Looking at C31 website, it runs on regular Android and seeing it comes with GCam instead of Camera Go seems to prove it
Also mind dumping that GCam and put it in your nokiamob article? If it works well with other phones, that would be neat seeing GCam ports from Pixel is hit or miss
