    Have you run into any battery issues leaving the hatch open for extended periods of time? I believe Subaru updated the firmware in the 2020+ models to prevent a parasitic draw if the hatch is left open for a long time, but I’ve still heard that using a “Hatch Catch” device is a safe bet. I always carry a jump starter battery pack in my car just in case too.
    Great video my friend, keep it up!

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  Год назад +1

      Hi! It is my favorite camping spot I always goto and I am really happy with the ignik and lavabox combo. Like you said, cost to fill the tank is way cheaper than logs and plus it's way easier to transport them. I didn't have battery issues on this trip but for some reason I had to jump start the car on my last trip using this same tent (new video coming 😅) so next time I use this tent, I am going to use the hatch catch.

    For sleeping in the car I’d recommend that you close the hatch, crack the windows slightly, and get yourself some of the insulated window covers (weathertech or you can make them). That should keep things a bit warmer. I’ve seen some people cut out a screen for the UCO lanterns from a soda can to block the light and help radiate heat a bit more, but sleeping with a flame in the car is a bit much for me.

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  Год назад

      Hi! Thank you for the recommendation and normally I would sleep with the harch closed but the way the tent is designed is you need to have the hatch open so it gives support. I tried it closed and it just drapes down and not enough tention to support the tent in Snow or rain. And soda can bottle is a nice idea but like you said.. having a open flame in the car is bit too much. But I slept warm because of the heated Blanket I put inside of the sleep bag 😉
