Here's Everything GREAT about Call of Duty Advanced Warfare! I hope you enjoy the video! Advanced Warfare was a bit of a slept-on title I think from SledgeHammer Games. Yeah, it wasn't the best in the Call of Duty franchise but I think they still hang up there with Treyarch and Infinity Ward with this project. Plus Activision giving all three studios more time to work on a COD game just rises all boats in the tide.

I'm gonna be honest, I never played the campaign, mostly because we lost the campaign disc. But I always loved just dicking around with my brother in the general versus mode, whether we fought bots or each other. I loved making a build with absolutely zero guns, the combat knife, and the active camo and smoke bombs for a "stealth ninja" play style.
have you ever just make up stories mode on multiplayer, or even just make daily challenges. My brother always did that to me, and it was the most either fun or hardest and frustrating thing
I'm sorry but why is there a "campaign disk"?
@@mercce6750
The versus mode and campaign are installed into the console through separate disks
@@mercce6750you must be too young 😂

Manticore is based on the work done by a Afrikaner Medical scientist by the name of Wouter Basson.
The South African government employed him to develop a bioweapon that could target Bantu blacks while leaving Afrikaners umharmed.
His research is kept under lock and key by the ANC government, and he was never sent to prison for his research because of the Truth and Reconciliation council in the 90s.
Today he's a GP in Cape Town
So youre saying it could be done?
@@gumilangputraandiwaluya987 We do not know if he succeeded, but theoretically yeah
Fun fact: the whole "pillow the head before shooting" bit is actually to avoid blood splatting over the shooter. Learned this from John Wick. Seeing Irons do this is pretty on-character.
Ilona not irons
I know it was a bit of a cheap gimmick but I like the practicality of the exosuits in this game where half the time they feel like something that could become real at some point
It was a lazy attempt to rip off the veteran devs that made call of duty relevant, Respawn entertainment. Titanfall’s existence made this game fall short for me.
@@SuperRONDALE he he falling short I see what ya did there especially after they folded with 3 games only to fumble more with "returning ro thier roots"
@@SuperRONDALE THE GAMES WERE RELEASED WITHIN MONTHS OF EACH OTHER
A lot of stuff in this game was being experimented at that time and still is, thats why
@@SuperRONDALEah yes because games this big can totally be made in less than a year.
Fun fact in the mission where you attack Bhagdad you can use the grapple hook on the helicopter and the Goliaths if you get behind them
I liked the story quite a lot. It wasn't as far-fetched as so many other CODs (e.g. MW2&3, Ghosts), and focussed on real questions (rise of corporate power, legitimacy of traditional national armies, increasing use of mercenaries) that not only were relevant back then but are even moreso to this day.
Sure, it escalates into action movie nonsense, but the core was solid.
Yeah the core ideas were there if it weren't call of duty it could've been the next spec ops the line with its commentary.
What was the issue with Ghosts uh?
COD Ghosts and AW are actually my 2 favorite CODS. I only played them to really play the campaign, its always been my favorite which is why i dont play the newer ones. I grew up on the games with my best friend, these two were our favorites and we loved taking turns one mission after the other. These 2 hold very special places in my heart
I’ve played COD for as long as I can remember up until this trash iteration of MW3. Ghosts has a dear place in my heart it was awesome
Same bro
@@rafiyumahmood2446I feel like that too. Ghosts multiplayer was fun, I pubstomped and could hold a 3 KD, competitive was fun with friends, and the story mode left me with the thought "thats one of the best stories in CoD. There needs to be a part 2"... I seriously dont remember what happened in the story anymore, because its been like 10 years. BUT I remember thinking the campaign was just amazing and I wanted a part 2.
@@OoLiiMiiT3D tbh I don’t even want a new Ghosts game because I just know Activision will ruin it from the ground up
@@OoLiiMiiT3D I think a part 2 is well deserved, they cliffhangered the ending and it sucked. If they made a second one I might actually play a cod game again because that storyline was amazing
Ah, the days when having Kevin Spacey in your project was seen as a plus, not a minus.
I absolutely love Advanced Warfare, the technology was cool, the guns sounded meaty, and I love the idea of this super powered PMC being able to take over the world. I just wish they let us join Irons instead of making him assume that Will is his enemy.
See THAT would have been a hell of a campaign. Give us the choice to follow Irons or not. That would be awesome!!
This game made me want to study computer engineering. I am at 2nd year now and this game's technology is now POSSIBLE. Only reason armies don't use it is because it is both too expensive to develop and too expensive to lose on field. But we have bioweapons on size of viruses. We have exosuits that are precursor to these. We have the progression going for implementation of this tech into drone and proxy wars.
Neat
Maybe we'll have full on cybernetics ala Cyberpunk soon too, keep up the good work
Being possible to make one is a big risk. We can't just let the terrorists use advanced armies technology.
AW wasn't flawless but it did so much right. visuals were great, sound effect was ON POINT, and the gameplay was so fast and fun. its my favorite cod of all time in terms of every aspect.
I loved the story and never quite got the hate for it. I just remember dying laughing watching conan play it and him dying trying to cross the street and getting run over by cars as Gideon is saying " GET ACROSS THE STREET". Then finally as he gets across he looks to his right and sees oh there was a bridge I could've used to cross. 😂😂😂
That motion blur comment, some insight
When people see "properly done" motion blur, it's often per-object motion blur (as was done in the original crysis) which is why it looked so good. (as in the motion blur was applied to objects, and not just the screen as you whipped it around) That's why I like to keep things like that on in games, but make sure any full screen motion blur is turned off, it adds a great sense of motion, weight, and realism imo
I really, really loved the campaign to this game. Probably the last Call of Duty campaign I enjoyed.
Apparently there was plans for a sequel of this game and I hope they keep proposing this idea because I think a sequel would be nice because I feel the game ends well but I do think that there could be more to the aw story
Literally one of my favorite games. Troy Baker, Kevin Spacy, and Idris Elba killed their roles 👏🏾👏🏾
i don’t think idris elba is in aw man
That’s not Idris Elba.
@@thelegendarysix who is he then?
@@loganbrien7856 He wasn't in AW, but he was in MW3 (2011) as "Truck"
@@ferretrex26yeah it’s pretty cool cause it hink timothy olyphant was grinch in mw3 as well
Sledgehammer impressed me with the music design for their games. Like the Main Menu theme for WWII, "A Brotherhood of Heroes" easily the most memorable main menu theme ever. WWII introduced a great way to bring back Boots on the Ground. And the campaign for AW and WWII oh my goodness. the environments were amazing. from Irons' estate to the Beaches of Normandy, Sledgehammer gives the community what the players WANT
This game gave me one of my favourite memories in cod. Me and my mate were playing infected and we were the last two players to get caught. We were running laps round the map laughing historically with a whole lobby chasing us
Hod the Line!
Still one of my favorite CODS, boots on the ground is still the way to go but switching it up time to time wasn’t as bad as everyone thought
AW was the first "real" cod for me. Like, i grew up with dad playing the early ww2 ones and when i first started youtube, this was the first walk-through i witnessed. Plus my engineer brain salivates at all the tech
You're missing a win. At the end of the hover bike mission, when you skid into base and two big mech dudes bust out chain guns and blow the ever living fuck out of the enemy chasing you. awesome stuff.
i have now been alive long enough to see this game given the respect it deserved on youtube
first cod campign i played at the age of 7, the story always stuck with me, to the point where the vicious are severing scene at the start made me cry as a little un
20:33 I think it would act more like a forcefield when you activate it and make whatever it is in the bubble soundproof. Like pitch that bubble shield in Halo games.
It's always nice to see my childhood be appreciated
There's a lot of things that Advanced Warfare did right in its gameplay and story narrative. People back in 2014 and the immediate years that followed just weren't prepared for the step away from the usual "boots on the ground" theme.
1:35 that hits right in the feelings man
You get a win for the intro! Best way to introduce this game😂
Man I love how this game still gets as much love that it does
This and IW are my favorite campaigns ever there so good imo
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE ODST REFERENCE!! im so glad im not the only one playing that misson that felt like a drop trooper haha
"I had a blast writing this script"
13:31
Yeah makes sense.
Genuinely loved this campaign it felt really unique compared to the others. Easy to understand on a surface level but deep enough that people can be satisfied if they dig for it.
My favorite cod game. Thanks for covering this.
24:20 in this mission, there’s actually a secret RPG that you can use that pretty much one taps everything if i’m not mistaken
I really enjoy your content.
Gaming as a whole needs more positivity with people like yourself.
The beauty of your videos is they give you (the viewer) a chance to reavulate and enjoy some gaming memories without having to commit to a full playthrough.
As I said, genuine and sincere positivity is in poor supply these days...people like you are doing very important work. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Take care Sir!
I loved advanced warfare im glad to see it get talked about in good light
Dude. The second you played the Halo: ODST music, I got goosebumps
The crab thing is an actual good evolve for moving vehicles, it helps to suport and give motility while using less materials
23:44 funny, the war literally called "The War to End All Wars" i.e. WW1 could be seen as the reason the deadliest war in history happened (WW2)
26:13 also, he went to court and was found innocent of all charges. People might not agree with it, but theres a reason why the saying "Innocent until proven guilty" exists.
Mute charges are very possible in theory. Noise cancelation (as far as I understand it) uses a microphone to detect noise and plays an opposing frequency which cancels out the noise. No reason why they couldn't put that on something that isn't headphones. Only downside is if you're like me, there's a significant pressure change when using noise cancelation (idk why it happens but no one else I've talked to seems to have that problem), not to mention everything goes quiet. So using one in stealth would only muffle noise made while still alerting the enemy that something is happening.
i remember when my brother and i first got this game for christmas and we played the campain over and over again (i was 10 years old) those where the days.
Always had a lot of fun with this game, campaign was pretty solid, and gameplay was tight and fun in all modes. The exosuits added a lot of potential, and it was great.
Ah Cod Advanced warfare the start of COD's "Advance movement and lootbox" Era for cod. But also was the 2nd cod to be released on the PS4 and Xbox One generation consoles with cod ghost being the 1st and wow the jump in graphics were huge. Cod ghost didn't really show how or display the new console generations until Advance warfare in my opinion. But when advance warfare came out in 2014 it was huge to see graphics just ramp up in the PS4 and Xbox One generations.
I still go back to this game to play the campaign every once in a while. I still appreciate a good campaign and this was one of my favorites.
Only two parts of the campaign I remember (excluding Kevin Spacey) is right before you get captured at the end, where you basically have free reign with your grapple in a city block, and right after when you only have one arm so can't reload and can barely aim. And wishing the whole campaign was as creative and fun
I loved this game even back then. I adored it and its story
27:20 YES, YES PLEASE DEAR GOD YES, GIVE ME IW2!!!
I honestly didn't pick up the Greek Mythology references until you broke them down. That's actually really clever! Though I wonder if it was intentional on Slegehammer's part.
When I first played this game a few years after it came out I was suffering from CoD fatigue. While I'm not a massive fan of advanced movement in CoD, I have to say this campaign is a lot better than any of us ever gave it credit for at the time. Fantastic analysis on this one!
This is still one of my favourite CoDs especially because I've always preferred the double jump it just feels more responsive
love your work and videos, please do the metal gear solid series
AW's jetpacks were the best because they were predictable instead of people throttling them all over the place. I think that made it more balanced and required being more mindful of boost jumping. The dashing was also brilliant and saved my ass too many times!
This game sparked my love for stealth that i'd really only get to delve into with mgs5
Ive been waiting for this
this game was so good glad its finally getting sum recognition over a decade later
Playing it again now and the graphics, gameplay are still pretty good nearly 10 years on
Loved AW for the part of the campaign that was befote the whole "Irons is evil" thing. After that it honestly felt like we were the baddies.
Yes another one of my favorite underrated cods
This game was peak... All my friends in middle school-high school played the entire life cycle of the game.
I remember when I played this I beat it in one sitting this why it’s one of my favorite cod games like top 5
Advanced warfare is one of my favorite COD campaigns
Infinite Warfare has my favorite CoD campaign, and as I don't touch multiplayer, that also make it my favorite CoD game overall.
COD AW was my first COD game (well kinda because i play BO3 with my cousin on his ps4) and it was amazing. The story, characters, gameplay where great. I replay the story many times.
The only sad thing about it is that i can't play anymore because my xbox 360 got a red ring and you know what that means.
My name is Jackson and that threw me the hell off guard, I had to rewind just to make sure I heard that right. Mine is actually black ops one.
MW2 was my first COD as well, and one of the first games I've ever played. It isn't just the best COD, but it's one of the best games in existence.
I loved call of duty Advance Warfares campaign and zombies.
You raise some really good points about the campaign in this video. It had really good concepts for the story and only just fell short of delivering them perfectly. But I do have to say, I'd add a win for getting to kill Kevin Spacey
Genuinely it was a really good cod, I loved the ideas of the Exos giving more verticality to all play styles as well as the different game modes. My only gripe is that you have to pay to access Zombies
" Prepare for Titanfall "
WHY DID YOU GIVE ME MEMORIES I WANTED TO FORGET?
BT!!!!
Damn before watching your videos on this and BO2 I never realized just how much Greek mythology symbolism there was in this game!
Your gonna have a lot to say about Infinite warfare because how emotional that campaign is and i can’t wait
Honestly right after Black ops 1 and 2, Advanced Warfare was one of my favorites.
22:55 man had an awakening lmao
Idk if it’s just me but the general in 13:45 sounds like the MW 2 general Shepard from 2022
One of my favourite games ever… only game I got to 30th prestige
My first CoD was Finest Hour on PS2. I felt like I was playing a movie back in the day. Then I played World at War and Modern Warfare...
Ghosts the most underrated COD campaign, was the first COD game I played.
This was one of my favorites, and one of the few that I would consider myself "good" at. at least when it first came out, tho that was mostly cause I took to the movement a lot faster than some others it seemed
It's so good to see another AW supporter! There's so much that people sleep on in this game
Advanced warfare was the best first time playing a COD I'd had since 09 and it was Taco night, shit was cash, parents preordered the special edition, love Advanced Warfare
I love advanced warfare. It was one of the first cods I had and the campaign was goated
Advanced Warfare movment with and new mw19 movment and warzone would be so fun
Loved this game it’s my personal favorite. also you should try out the Infamous Franchise cause it’s really enjoyable ( Second son has troy baker as the MC )
Not gonna lie back in the day I played this when I was like 8 or 9 and for some reason my grandfather had it so I played it. It was always fun to me. For some reason the zombies never worked, but one time which was the first time I played it, and it was kinda sad to me because I played all the other cod games at the time with him like the multiplayer or their survival of the original modern warfare three, but this one it was just me to enjoy the campaign over and over.
i feel lucky that i got the Bal Obsidian Steed in the free loot boxes in the missions, i've always enjoyed Call of Duty Advanced warfare though, much more than the other games in CoD's track record so far
"Why does everything have to evolve into crabs". I dont know why I laughed as hard as i did.
Gideons actors name is actually Gideon
You should do infamous series
Press F to do the funny joke again
Loved this Game!
I always wondered, what happened to Joker? He just disappeared after they left Atlas
my favorite part was collecting the intel which tells the story of irons completely
What a throwback! I loved the campaign (partly cause I agree with Irons that humanity doesn’t deserve democracy) but the whole storyline was great! And it also helped that I got the Bal Obsidian Steed in my first pack from the preorder special edition 🤣
10:29 Simple answer: Time and money. It's a lot cheaper and easier to just take a live action image and make it a texture than it is to make a 3D model (or multiple models), pose it/them, render everything, then take that render and make that into a flat texture.
AW personally if my favourite advanced movement cod and one of my favourite campaigns in cod.
The ODST music got me. 😂😂😂 and first cod call of duty 2 big red one.
And to think just one year later, we'd see Troy Baker voice the legendary Revolver Ocelot 😭❤️
i honestly loved the futuristic feel of this game since it was the first to go really hard into it. BO2 was kinda futuristic but not that far and exo suits were fucking awesome. Problem was how pay to win this game was. Gotta get that obsidian steed
One of my favourite cods to be honest
