    This is what I needed - thank you algorithm - would they really wear the glasses for extended periods of time - at home, in company, out and about as we do? Or were the glasses used for specific close work in private. I mean, they are quite a fashion statement!

      Kim says, depends on near or far sighted. Art seems to show scribes wearing them for transcribing manuscripts. Kim is blind as a bat without she'd need them often. But seen to be used more for tasks at hand. Of course that is conjecture based on art and experience.

    I have a dress that's several inches longer than I am. I wore it bc I was too lazy to hem it and discovered that it's no problem to lift it up to walk without stepping on it and it puddles nicely when I let it fall. It's a modern dress. I love it but it doesn't have the oomph yours does.
