I have a dress that's several inches longer than I am. I wore it bc I was too lazy to hem it and discovered that it's no problem to lift it up to walk without stepping on it and it puddles nicely when I let it fall. It's a modern dress. I love it but it doesn't have the oomph yours does.

Are you planning to sew the aventail to the liner!? That way it won't flap around that much when moving and it makes it more historical correct. Also I I may suggest, I would recomend you wear a maille standard. If a sword, spear, any waepon comes underneath the aventail and liner, you're screwed! A maille standard will give you just that extra protection just in case.

Not quite a bridge battle. It was a hidden fortress battle. The paths on each sides that connected to a ravine where the fortress was. Those paths only allowed weapons 6ft and under and sword and board.

My sympathies, guy. At one Pennsic (in the mid 1980s) my Coleman stove was nowhere to be found. Whoops, I inadvertently left it home, only a 6 hours back east to New York. So, I bought a single burner Coleman at a local store. The War gods must have it out for us. All the best at Pennsic.
