    I auditioned for, then received a rejection letter from a top drama school in Canada, and was put on a wait list. I lost all hope. Two months later, I was offered admission! It was an incredible experience. Just prepare like crazy, do your best, and don't overthink things - you never know :)

    Hi Georgie, I’m 12 and I LOVE everything to do with drama and musical theatre. I really want to go to ArtsEd and a couple of my really good friends are hoping to go there too. Me and my friends that I usually hang out with make our own “films” and film on our phones and evaluate our acting and everything afterwards. I’m currently arranging a musical to perform on the stage at school. A lot of friends say I’m really good at singing and I do believe that I’m fairly skilled at acting and dance. I know it’s ages away but I’m really nervous about auditioning as I feel like I’m going to mess up no matter how long I prepare for in advance. Any tips? X p.s. you’re my idol xx

As I am not from England, I never thought about the opportunity to study my dream here, but now i will try my best to finally live my dream :) And another question, is it hard to get an agent afterwards or is it even possible to get an agent without any diploma etc.? Ah this is super useful!!! Thank you 💓 I was just wondering if I were to decide not to do drama school but to go straight from uni into acting, do u know how you'd go about that, like what steps you'd take? Cos at drama school don't you make lots of useful connections whereas if you don't go you don't have those. Thank you so much!! xx lots of love 💓

    • @GeorgieAshford
      @GeorgieAshford  6 лет назад +1

      Hi! It's true that you do make lots of useful connections at Drama School but it isn't essential to go. You would need to look into writing to Agents and also finding out about auditions! There are lots of other great ways to make connections and to work in Theatre, but I do think Drama School can be a great place to start :) xx

      "short unaccompanied song- we strongly suggest avoiding contemporary pop songs." I don't want to go with a really common one but I also don't want to be too out there because I'm NOT the greatest singer 😂 which is why I'm only applying to the acting course, apparently they do take into account you're not applying for MT but I still want to try haha. Hey Georgie!! I usually hate commenting on these things cause I get embarrassed 🤣It'll be my third year of auditioning this year - I'm going to Chichester University Conservatoire this year but I'm auditioning for drama schools to start next year! (My dream is GSA) 💕 My problem is with confidence and performing with confidence - I went to BRIT School which completely ruined my confidence in performing, and it's caused me to fail my last two years of auditions because I falter in singing and dancing when I know I could do amazing if I was just myself.... Any tips for confidence while performing?? ❤️❤️ I've been practicing but it'll all be for nothing if I then freeze up in auditions again.... 😰😰

    Hi Georgie, I'm Megan. I've just turned 15 and in the future I would love to have a career like yours and your channel has been very helpful and given me lots of information that I didn't know I needed. (Thank you!!) I am currently having singing lessons and I go to a drama group that does musicals and pantomimes but I am very worried that I won't be able to get into a drama school because I lack experience and skill. Other than in the shows that I do, I don't have any dance lessons. In the shows, it's always been a basic level of dancing so I've kind of been at the same level of dancing for a few years. I've looked into separate training but in and around my area, I can't find any beginner friendly classes for people my age. Do you have any advice on ways to improve my chances of getting into a musical theatre school? Xx
    (Also I'm really sorry for the very long-winded question!! Thank you so much:)!x)

      Megan get yourself into college, and enrol for a Btec in acting or musical theatre, you’ll learn a lot about practitioners and you’ll gain confidence and wanting to let yourself go! You’ll learn the basic principles of an actor. It will be full time aswell for 2 years and I promise you’ll learn a lot.

    Hi, I don’t know if you read your comments on your old videos like this... Im a bit worried because I’m auditioning next spring and I come from Sweden, which means that English is not my first language. In Sweden we have English lessons in school from the age of 10 to 18 and my dad is English (he has helped me a lot) so I would say I’m fluent. If you are not offered a spot at an acting school, can you reapply the next year?

      Haha well I’d say if you want a career in musical theatre maybe invest in some singing lessons or maybe consider a straight acting course if you’d prefer to focus on Just acting x
