Eggs rolling on their own during incubation: I'd think it's be embryonic movement. Since they're not attached to one another like they normally would be to give stability to the eggs, could that explain why the eggs roll on their own?
Hognose’s don’t attach their eggs :) so they don’t have said stability to prevent that. I think that could be a thing but they’d have to be moving pretty crazy to move in the substrate I think
Hmmm, possibly? I would think that would be much later in the development process though so that they're big enough to move the entire egg. If you think of it in human terms when a baby kicks and moves inside the womb, it's not so hard that it would cause them to move stuff on the outside of mum (unless it is something super small and light) right? So for the baby snake to roll an egg it would have to be fairly late in development for it to have the size needed to cause that momentum. If not that then I have no clue what else could cause it, unless staff aren't as careful getting the boxes in and out of the incubator? Can't see that though.
