Just going into this with a static this week. We were pretty dejected after a lockout and a half of T5 until you pointed out that we don’t need to be minimum ilevel. Going back in tonight to smash Titania’s face in and start on T9 or A4 after.
BigBluePurple nice video as always but I think it’s time for the biggest challenge in FF XIV: My experience with TOP in the PF. Finish 2023 with a Bang.
Picking up Blue Mage again again after the somewhat tedious road to 60 and switching to controller brought the fun in gameplay back for me. Something I didn't even know I was missing until soloing the first few dungeons synched. Actually experiencing the content, instead of just running along in PF. Thanks for sharing this guide. Definitely gonna tackle that mount once the book is full! Can say for myself that the dive into BLU made me respect game concepts and content barely acknowledged before.
Despite having played this game since Heavensward's launch, I still have not done normal Coils yet, but this looks like a ton of fun! I'm more of a casual player and haven't done a lot of savage tier raiding outside of the Alexander and Eden raids when they were new, mostly because I can't seem to get my friends and colleagues to play FF14 with me, so I completely lose interest after a while as I just don't have that same social interaction with people on party finder that we do with good friends. Love watching you describe your experiences with the various content in the game. I may give it a try myself once I finish collecting the rest of the new blue mage spells.
My BLU static's kill of Bahamut was also super close. Final pull of the night and it was really clean up through the Teraflare transition. Because it was only our 3rd time we'd made it that far with everyone alive, it ended up getting messy. 3 of our teammates, including our tank, were dead as we entered final sting range and we were out of rezzes. My other 4 teammates all did their final sting combos. I, the OT dps of the group, had taken up tanking, but was running out of mana and had a TB incoming. Looked like it was about to be a 1% wipe, but as I was getting hit, I managed to drop mighty guard and swiftcasted a final sting. It crit and we ended up getting a kill! I think it was the loudest I'd ever cheered at a boss kill.
Where can players find other Blue Mages to even help learn all of the spells? I haven't seen any in party finder, are there any discords for this type of stuff anyone knows about?
Very thankful to my static for dealing with me wiping us often in T13. I’m the tank for the group and can confirm everything said about the experience firsthand, it’s the reason I personally have a disdain for T13 as a BLU fight. There were some good things like learning to prepull Dragon Force to survive the first Flare Breath and that Bad Breath+Devour is a free ticket to not eat shit on Flare Breath. But then there were multiple incidents where an orb spawned in front of me and taking it made me forget Flatten was coming up, as well as the several times I got killed after Gigaflare 2 because Bahamut is a rat bastard and does a stealth auto attack before flying away, which even under Mighty Guard is over 1k And final phase Earth Shakers held us up for a good week or so because we kept having both our healers getting sniped which means DPS have to stand out enough to hit them with White Wind but not so far that they take tempest wing But the nightmare is over, and now we’re on to A12S
This may be a bit of an odd comment- How did you get into content creation, and what's your recommendations for people trying to create content for FF14
I’ve always had a pretty big interest in making content. Even when I was like 13 I was trying to make call of duty videos lmao. I started focusing heavy on ffxiv content because I feel like we don’t have enough varied content in general in this space. So many channels like “wow player does msq” or guide content or stream highlights reuploaded to RUclips. There’s nothing wrong with this type of content but I felt there was a space I could fill by just discussing the content in the game. The hardest part is making the first couple of videos, from there, it becomes easier to focus on what you’d like to improve with each subsequent upload.
one may call me a spycho but ye I want the morbol mount buttttttttttttttttttttttttt I also wanna go trought all of the coils raid all of the Alexander and SB and ShB raids, as BLU, not just the final one! someday maybe better happen >:( I'll get a BLU group crazy enough like me :)
as someone who did the morbol in 5.1 when it dropped, it is SIGNIFICANTLY easier now compared to then. For tanks having access to nothing but mighty guard and diamondback meant that autos from bahamut and alexander could easily kill you if they critted at the right time, hell even devour was only a 15 second buff, now it's something you can just have on 100% of the time. The insane DPS increase from stuff like Nightbloom and primal spells in 5.4 and 6.45 meant vital dps pushes to skip phases in A8S and T9/T13 are guaranteed, it trivializes Brute Justice by letting you skip the hardest parts of the council fight, intermission 1 and hell even skipping gavel. Healers had to moonflute and use int pots to be able to skip those barely. And as for healers having access to Strotham and Angel Snack makes the hardest healing parts of these fights a joke (we had to use exuviation for some group healing to avoid ripping aggro from the tanks). They were a lot more of a wall back in the day, esp T13, A8S and A12S
was a blast to go through most of these with you, grats on the morbol
Yo I know Elocram who was Tanking your T13 group he's part of a Static I fill for!
Big fan of you're content as well hope I get to raid with you at some point!

Lmao, not sure I’ll get around to TOP this year but we will see. Recently started DSR so I’ll likely be focused on that for a while.

yo just wanted to say
I don’t even play this game. But am in love with your videos of it. I don’t watch any ff14 videos other than yours

Not sure why you would mention the bis when discussing synced gear. The only piece of gear that is beneficial is the level 60 one for materia.

I did this when the level cap was 60. It is way easier now.
