Before reading all these philosophies, I would recommend to start reading our ancient Indian scriptures because Greeks and Roman philosophies are somehow based on them. So better read from the original source. You can start with Chanakya, Adi Shakracharya, Astavakra Gita, Bhagvad Gita, etc.
I am so glad I found your video. I have always wanted to know where to start my philosophy journey. I've been a bit fascinated with all the works of these authors even though a lot of people make fun of my fascination with their ideas. They don't think that it helps anyone in real life. But I find solace in them. Whenever I read some extract somewhere from these books, there's something inside me that gets shaken. I wonder if anyone has that feeling too. But thanks again for suggestions. I will give all of these a try.

There are many hidden philosophy books written by Arab and Persian scholars even Indian Muslim scholars of British colonial period, some are open but language barrier is something which is thorn in here just for example I would like to mention one scholar from Delhi whose name was Shah waliullah Dehlvi he was originally from muzaffarnagar but he compiled whole world order in his book, unfortunately many of his books are not published, there are many libraries throughout India who has his manuscripts... His Hujjatullahi Baligha is masterpiece, if English translation is available please do read it it is even taught in international universities maybe in Islamic philosophy part... Philosophy is that much effective that even the one who designed the concept of Pakistan was a great philosopher Allama Iqbal, yes he visioned a failed state but this concept was designed by him... But there are some caution, many thinking and beliefs of western philosophers is based on materialism atheism blasphemy so I avoid that part

Hello Daksh First of all, great work man! I had a question, I just want to read one book on Nietzsche and get an overall view of his philosophy, if you were to advice one single book, which one would it be? Is the Basic writings of Nietzsche such book?
Nietzsche disregards most of the popular philosophers and their philosophies. He argues that there is something beyond Good and Evil. That both good and evil changes upon perspectives and that they do not carry one single meaning. For example: He criticizes Rene Descartes philosophy of "I think therefore I'm" by replying back that as soon as one assumes I, then it becomes biased and it is not the real truth. Most of the old philosophers were biased in this regard, Nietzsche argues. One of the most controversial philosopher figure of his time. When he wrote two of his works "Beyond Good and Evil" and "Thus spake Zarathusra" not more than 5 books were sold. The world needed time to understand his ideas and today he's one of the important philosophers.

For those searching for Indian Philosophy, "Geeta" is the summary of "Sanatan Darshan" which consists of 6 Darshans (Philosophy).
You can start with that then there are miles to go...
There is a book by same name ‘The history of philosophy’ by Will Durant.
Hey Daksh....you are doing a great work. I was about to start reading philosophy and this video exactly tells me what exactly to read....thanks man!!

Don't pay attention to such people and keep reading philosophy
I suggest you to read "Making of Humanity by birffault and Ayn Rand.

Philosophy is a subject that can change life❤ 😌
I am a student & i study in class 12 , i am looking for a Philosophical book and i think this is the best place for that❤
I used to be very fond of reading books many years ago but i feel that the cost of books has sky rocketed beyond its logical limits and has become unaffordable to the common person and that is why less people read....unless we can a source for cheaper books....or at used books markets....or big book bazars.
What's the cost of your mobile? Just asking
Few additions :-
1) *The wealth of nation* by Adam Smith
2) *Arthsastra* by Acharya Chankya
3) *Asthdyayi* by Panini ( Phenomenal book on Sanskrit language, was best in the world just 100 years back and even now it is one of the best on the concerned topic)
4) *Manusmriti* (might have some misconceptions because media totally blamed all the inequality on this book but this book talks about lot of things in very profound manner, read without bias and you will surely broaden your horizon).
5) *Kamasutra* ( its not just about sex , its about Kama(desire), nature of desire, how desire impact us and how to control desire rather than being controlled by it all our life).
6) *Four Chapters on freedom* by Swami Satyananda sarswati ( it commentary of Patanjali's astang Yoga, must read again it will broaden your horizon)
Manusmriti khud parho pehle... phir recommand krna..
Popular version of Manusmriti is full of contradictions cuz it was distorted by Missionaries in 18th Century. & Kama Sutra? Really⁉️💢

"The republic" is one of the best books I have read
Thanks for making this video! Great insights to get started in philosophy.

Genius ne sabse upar Karl Marx ki book rakhi hai, same Karl Marx who considered Indians inferior, was happy about its colonisation and believed that independent India would get destroyed and usurped by any of the world powers very shortly because it was a false manufactured nation.

Is the Basic writings of Nietzsche such book?
I need to read that book before giving you any opinions. The starting of the book looks good tbh. ❤️🙌
@@DakshJindal bhai book padh li aapne?
There is the pdf on how we need to study Nietzsche, and from where we should start. I think that will be helpful.
