Lovely video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I would love your opinion. Have you ever tried - Patlarny Bacterial Relief Principle (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? Watching this video was way more fun than having cellulitis. I had never heard of it before I was diagnosed with it, and it was not a pleasant experience. Your spot on about getting medical treatment as fast as possible. I was hospitalized in 2017 with what was thought to be another deep vein thrombosis to my lower leg. It was in fact cellulitis, diagnosed 3 days later. I was exceptionally lucky to survive & was fighting for my life as severe infection took over, fever & my blood pressure dropping suddenly. This developed into sepsis & pneumonia. Spent weeks in intensive care & was relieved not to lose my limbs. The whole ordeal was so horrendous that I developed post sepsis syndrome, which is like PTSD. I started seeing ghosts (all in my mind) & took to sleeping downstairs under the dining room table to seek sanctuary. I've never fully recovered & just doing simple tasks can leave me shattered.
@@gordonkemp1620 Sorry to hear what you're going through. Sepsis is terrifying, and I completely understand how it could be debilitating so long after the infection. My cellulitis also advanced to sepsis, but my condition improved fairly quickly after starting IV fluids and antibiotics. So glad you survived, and I wish you all the best.

Castile foaming hand soap with eucalyptus and tea tree has worked the best for the cellulitis and folliculitis on my forearm so far.
It killed the bad bacteria and allowed my skin to heal and naturally exfoliate as well.
I used it 3 times a day and especially in the shower with very warm water so the natural ingredients could go deeper into the skin layers. Just gentle massaging as you wash the area works.
Just make sure to moisturize with coconut oil or a carrier oil afterwards to keep the skin hydrated.

It's good to see all of this about infections. A week ago I was taken off a 10-day home IV treatment. I have two holes on either side of my leg down by the ankle. They were punch samples taking from a biopsy on my leg for cancer. The dermatologist said it would not hurt. This was done in the first week of December 2021. It's now June 17th and they have not healed. I go to wound therapy once a week over two and a half months now. So I would have not had an infection if they would have not made these holes in my leg. Now a nurse has to come and see me everyday and look at my wounds. I wish I would have told the dermatologist to not going exploring on my leg. This has been a lot of pain for a lot of months for nothing ever coming of it. It feels like the infection is back and burning pain. I'm scared taking the pain pills will get hooked probably but the pain is overwhelming it almost makes you want to cry sometimes and I'm 64 hahaha

such a clear explanation of these two diagnoses with great illustrations. I've been trying to figure out what is going on with me for several years now. i believe it is Erysipelas now. unfortunately, my skin has become so sensitive on my feet that i dropped my wireless mouse on my foot and has caused this serious wound/infection that won't heal. i hope some antibiotic clear this up For Good! it's painful and uncomfortable to say the least. thanks for the clinical knowledge.

I don't get the logic in the correlation of the following two facts.
1. Lower limbs are one of the most often affected areas of the body
2. A trauma damaging the skin surface is required to trigger the events.
Skin traumas can happen anywhere on the body, much more likely on the hands, then why are not the hands are more prone to these diseases? What makes it the lower limbs so special getting those small skin traumas?
I did not have any symptoms to indicate cellutis top of foot, yet 4 weeks hospital I.V. (both arms covered with holes, ran out of spots) had silver dollar hole, see big toe tendon and below, and I never got out of bed. In wheelchair month before, 6 weeks since I got out, still in bed, wheelchair to use bathrom. Same leg, knee swollen almost twice the size other. Can't walk, plus 4 conditions elsewhere. No one calls, no appointments, guess I have been dropped, but have a and b medicare
Multiple md"s, some talk of amputation, but now only small hole. I have not seen anywhere simular treatment, so I really don't have much to say, but your point makes sense to me. So much for the others and services they have provided, I could have passed away. Be polite, please!

Hey Armando. I'm making my own video about tinea pedis-- which means, of course, that cellulitis is an issue. I didn't realize that that interdigital tissue was such a vector-- important info for a patient applying anti-fungal and anti-bacterial creams. Thank you!
Something I've been wondering about is the irony surrounding these two invaders. Fungal infections aren't generally serious-- but the fungi do some real tissue damage-- they eat your skin. Cellulitis on the other hand can be very dangerous, especially if it leads to sepsis-- but my understanding is that cellulitis is essentially an auto-immune disorder in which pain, erythema, warmth and vasodilation are the result of an extreme immune response.
Am I right about this?

Getting Sultamicillin 375mg 2-0-2 for 5 days. Hope it will work and hope that's a long enough treatment, running around with this for 2 weeks now after an insect bite. No fever, chilling etc, was even doing sports with it...

I wonder if this is what I have. Right now from my bellybutton down to my toes is swollen. And my skin is super tight and feels like a sunburn. My right foot is so swollen I can't even put on a flip flop. I don't have any cuts. I've had this before and it goes away on it's own after a couple weeks. But this time my stomach is hard. Like it reminds me of when I was pregnant with my daughter. So waist down is swollen and hard to wear Jean's and shoes. My left leg and foot is slightly swollen but not as bad as my right.
Can a superficial cellulitis spread deeper? Like into a deeper cellulitis, or into the fascia?

That skin issue could be bacterial infection such as cellulitis or erysipelas .
