How to build an AWESOME anvil stand! Pt. 1

  • In this video series I will be building a new stand for my 135lb Peter Wright. This design is a bit overkill but I thought it would look really great. If there's enough interest I can make drawings for this design, but this series should be enough for you to build your own.

    Thanks for the link from Reddit/r/blacksmithing.
    Why the bolts? Why not glue? White glue would probably suffice, and construction adhesive almost certainly would.

      I wanted the stand to be durable as well as have an aesthetic that I was after. I thought of the bolts a while ago and wanted to see how it would work out. If you aren't looking for this type of look, bolting it up isn't necessary

    Hey there. Any idea how old your anvil is? I recently got an anvil which I (through mediocre research) determined to be a Mousehole weighing about 50kg/110lbs (just estimating the weight though). However, the shape and proportions of my anvil match the shape and proportions of yours, which makes me wonder if mine is in fact a Peter Wright. Thanks for the video.

      I wish I knew! I believe there are markings to indicate date but mine is too rusted to make them out
